Chapter 7: The Compromise

Seeing that he must be one of those souls hard to convince once their minds are made up, Luci gave a loud sigh as they resumed their walk.

Sam finally looked at her. “Are you sad again?” His brow was pinched worriedly.

“Yes. I am sad because you don’t want to be my friend.” She told him as they entered the restaurant opposite the park.

Following her to a table by the window, Sam was quiet as she gave their orders, but immediately the waitress left, he glanced at her.

“I don’t mean to make you sad and I don’t mind being your little friend.” He told her.

“Little friend? Aha aha, you are a big man, bro.” She told him playfully with a roll of her eyes.

Sam laughed so joyously, the other diners turned to smile affectionately at them.

“You are so funny, ma’am.” He said with another dose of laughter.

“Okay, let’s compromise, Sam.” Luci told him with a serious face.

He stopped laughing so suddenly it was as if a switch was put off.

“Compromise?” He asked in a puzzled tone.
