Chapter 6: New Friend

Lucianda knew she was not looking good, and there was no saying what would happen if she walked into the house the way she was.

Her son was a very intelligent young man and there was no way she would avoid his questions if he should see her before she could get to her room.

Keenly observant and smart, he would definitely notice there was something amiss. Close to his mother, he was emotionally attuned to her feelings.

Deciding it might be best to while away the time somewhere else till she could get herself under control, Lucianda knocked on the cabbie’s partition to talk to the driver.

Telling him to take her to a favorable country park, Lucianda leant back to start the process of composing her emotions.

Only then could she ponder on all that had happened and decided on her next line of action.
