Two years earlier.......
Unknown POV I raced through the woods in my wolf form, my paws pounding the ground as I sprinted at full speed. The trees and the rest of the forest passing in a blur all around me.I needed to catch herShe couldn't get awayShe needed to confessShe needed to tell me why she stabbed me in the back so heartlessly despite the fact that we had known each other since we were pups. All because she had wanted to support her mate.Their betrayal nearly cost us our packLives were lost, families destroyed and scarred emotionally for life. My poor mother being one of the many victims. The sharp sting of overwhelming pain pierced my heart again as I remembered how I had held her limp, lifeless body in my arms as my father, the Alpha of our pack howled in anguish.I couldn't even console him, that kind of loss needed to be approached with great caution. Our grief, mine and his, were very different. I had lost a mother, the one who birthed me and brought me into the world and he, had lost his soulmate, given to him by the Moon Goddess, his other half, his reason for living, his Luna, his wife. The death of one's mate was a grief I'd never wish upon anybody, not even my mortal enemies. Not even Eliana, who the pain of losing hers was causing her to lash out now."Eliana!" I called out to her through our mind-link. The one that allowed us to communicate with each other in the pack."Please stop! I don't want to hurt you, I just want to talk!"She didn't reply, she kept running and I kept chasing. I could hear the sound of the others, the pack warriors getting closer, they were catching up tooI mind-linked them quickly"Guys, faster! We can't let her get away. We need her to get information about Gideon's plans!""Copy that, Greyson. We're right behind you"Eliana's wolf was fast and she was nearing the huge river that served as a border between our state and the next. We needed to catch her before she crossed the river because we didn't have a treaty with the packs of that state which meant that we couldn't operate on their lands without seeking permission first else we could start a war."We can't let her get to the river, if she does it's over!" I screamed at them and doubled my speed but I still couldn't get as close as I wanted to. Eliana was one of the fastest in our pack, running and not getting caught had been her strength during our training days, I had always praised and admired her for it. Now I loathe it.Before I could catch up, Eliana's wolf reached the river and dived into the water. My wolf skidded to a stop right at the edge of the river, I couldn't risk diving in after her. I didn't want to start a war when we were just recovering from the attack that had cost us many loved ones.So I stood watching and panting heavily as Eliana's wolf expertly swam across the river and climbed out to the other side. Her wolf shook out it's fur to rid it of some of the water before it looked up and our eyes met.I activated our mind-link"Eliana, don't do this. If you turn around and walk away now, your bond with the pack will break and you'll become a lone wolf; a rogue. Is that what you want? I know you're suffering because of Gideon's death but he had it coming, he deserved it for being a traitor"Eliana's wolf growled loudly, baring it's canines"He was my mate! You took him from me and I will never forgive you and the Crimson Claw pack for that. Never!""Eliana wait!"But it was too late, Eliana's wolf turned around and dashed into the thick forest on the other side, disappearing from sight completely just as I felt her bond with the pack break. She was gone. But not for good, this I knew.Five Months Later......Harvey's POVThe sound of my alarm blaring made me jolt awake in bed and I turned to the bedside table to turn off the annoying sound at the same time that I peered at the screen for the time5:15PMI gasped and slid out of bed before rushing into the bathroom where I took a quick shower, dressed in a pair of jeans, a hoodie and black converses before racing downstairsI had overslept and was late to pickup Mr O'Brien, Greyson's dad for our daily walk to the small park within the pack's premises I rushed into the kitchen where Karen, the housekeeper was stirring a steaming pot "Good evening, Luna Harvey. How was your nap?" She greeted with a smile and I puffed out a breath "It was fine but I almost overslept. Where is Martha? Does she already have Mr O'Brien ready to go?" I asked"Yes, she does. They're in the living room, would you like to have something to eat before you leave?" She offered and I shook my head"No, we'll eat when we return from the walk. B
Three Weeks Later......Harvey's POV"Oh my gosh, I can't breathe. I'm so nervous!" Scarlett rasped as she fanned herself with her hands frantically Alessia rolled her eyes at her "And yet you all call ME the drama queen"I laughed heartily "Stay calm, Scarlett. There's absolutely nothing to be nervous about"She scoffed at my words "Nothing you say? We're practically getting married!"I laughed again "It's just a mating ceremony with a wedding theme"Scarlett rolled her eyes "Oh please, it's practically a wedding, a specially decorated venue with an aisle, guests and an official to join us with our mates. I mean, how are you not nervous?""Oh Scarlett, you're being dramatic. It's just a ceremony where you walk down the aisle to get joined to the man who you'll spend the rest of your life with!" Isobelle uttered and Scarlett's eyes widened"Yes! That's exactly why I'm nervous!" She cried Alessia, Isobelle and I laughed "I'm not nervous because we'll be walking down the aisle togeth
Greyson's POV I strode into the tower that overlooked the western gateAlmost all the warriors in the pack had already gathered there with Dean and Peyton at the forefrontThey all bowed to me as I walked past them and over to Dean who was standing in front of the computer monitors that was displaying the live surveillance video that was being captured by the cameras attached to the western gate "Greyson, you're here" Dean uttered when he noticed me "Where are they? Show me" I uttered as I glanced from one screen to the other"That one" Dean pointed to the monitor in the middle and I leaned forward as I peered at itEven with the darkness of midnight, I could clearly see unmistakeable figures of at least 20 rogues standing just a feet in front of the gate and two others at the forefrontOne of the figures at the front looked like that of a woman while the other definitely belonged to a man"It's definitely her" I muttered and Dean nodded"Yep. So what do we do now?" He asked and I
Harvey's POV"I'm going to kill her" Ravina swore with determination and my eyes widened slightly"I'm going to kill that bitch in the slowest and most painful way possible!" She shrieked with a blazing look in her eyes as she stared off into the distance I waved a hand in front of her face to get back her attention and her eyes slowly returned to mine"That's fine, if you want to avenge your family's death then we won't stop you but I just want you to understand one thing. We really aren't the bad guys in this story, Eliana is the villain here and I'm sorry that we kidnapped you and brought you here against your will but that's because we really need your help" I implored and she exhaled a shaky breath that I knew was an attempt to calm herself"What do you need from me?" She asked"The poison you created, it's infected my mate who also happens to be the Alpha of this pack and we really need you to concoct the permanent cure. I know that you're the only one who can do it and that's
Greyson's POVPeyton and I stopped before the northern gate where Dean and Wesley happened to be waitingI eyed the towering gate, still not believing that there were rogues who were willing to call a truce waiting on the other side.Dean walked up to me, holding a walkie-talkie in his hand "You ready to do this? Should I tell them to open the gate?" He asked and I nodded"Yes but how many of us are going out? There shouldn't be too many people so they won't get scared and run off" I replied"Relax, I thought of that. It's just going to be me, Peyton, that damn traitor because - he's the only one they trust - and you" he uttered and I grunted in approval"That's good. Tell them to open up so we can get this over with"Dean nodded before raising the walkie-talkie to his mouth and pressing down on the button"Open her up, boys. We're going through" he into the receiver to the men up in the tower who controlled the gate A crackling sound pierced the air from the walkie-talkie before a
Harvey's POVI watched as some of the colour drained from Greyson's face as he continued to stare at the drawing of the red-haired woman I had done the very next day after I had dreamt of her for the first timeMy brows furrowed slightly as I tilted my head in confusion at his reactionWhy did he look like he had just seen a ghost?"Greyson" I called and he flinched slightly before looking up at me "What's wrong? You suddenly turned almost as white as a sheet"He exhaled a deep breath and closed his eyes before opening them again "You.... You've been dreaming about her? This woman?"I nodded "Yes and I've never seen her before in my life. I have no idea who she is so that's what makes it kind of confusing. I want to know why I keep dreaming about her and just WHO she is"He swallowed thickly before slowly returning my sketchbook to me and I took it from him while watching him with narrowed eyes."I know who she is" he said suddenly and my eyes widened"You....do?!" I spluttered in sho
