View MoreOn the day when I thought that everything will be mine according to what was destined for me, my life shattered into a living hell.
Everything was gone—no, it was stolen from me.
The woman whom I thought was my friend, but rather she was a snake who took all of my pieces.
"Congratulations, your Highness and to the soon to be wife of the Crown Prince."
The people starts to cheer for them, giving a congratulations for the newly engaged. Both looks happy as their eyes and mouths are totally rhythm. They are happily riding on the elegant carriage while waving their hands on the people of Sylvestrian.
It was supposed to be me, sitting beside him. Smiling purely, and happily receiving a congratulations from my people whom I once treasured.
Why? Why did it go like this? Where did I go wrong?
"The D’aureville must be in dark, they were kicked out from the Imperial's table."
I stunned hearing the gossips from my back. They didn't look like they realize that I was just behind them, listening to their gossips about my family.
"Who would expect that the Crown Princess is a witch? she just killed the poor Butler of the Crown Prince."
"She's not the Crown Princess anymore, I'm just waiting for the news of her execution. It would be better to see her off, dying on the guillotine."
I burst a laugh, making them stop from what they're about to say. They both looks surprise when their eyes laid on me who was laughing while my fists are clenched.
I calmed myself and gave them a cold stare, both of them hold onto each other while stepping back away from me.
"It's easy to cut off your tongues before cutting off your limbs, " I say giving them a long cold stare, making them shudders.
"T-There's nothing w-wrong about w-what—"
"Yes, there is. According to the Empire law, any names of the nobles are honored and respectable, I haven't heard anything from the upper that the law was changed." I cut her words off.
I didn't expect that even the people that I've been dreaming to rule over was poisoning me on the outside. Treating me kindly, but they're only waiting for the chance to bite me.
I raised my head and confidently walk away, leaving them while they're trembling on their own feet.
No matter what, I still need to go home. I still have them, my family or so I thought.
"The order was sent by the Emperor himself, D'aureville family will have an execution for committing treason towards the empire. In accordance to the law written by the Emperor himself, Talia D'aureville will have a fourteen judgement before the execution."
Mother covered my body to protect me from the knights who are trying to arrest me. The servants are covering us to not let the knights to enter the manor.
It wasn't supposed to be like this, why? Why did it go like this?!
"Please kill us, just don't kill our daughter. She has nothing to do with the sins we committed. Please! I'm begging you, " Father pleads and begged on his knees.
I felt my tears run through my cheeks while gripping my mother's hand who was hugging me, trying to protect me.
"Don't worry Ali, mother wouldn't abandon you. We will never abandon you," she whispered.
"We won't let you have Lady Talia!" the servants shouted.
Commander of the Imperial states suddenly entered and hurriedly covered my father who was on his knees.
"This is absurd! How could you point your sword to the hero of Sylvestrian? How could you believe a mere words without evidence?" he says angrily.
"You are not in the right position to say that Commander Raynold since I am the evidence myself."
I gritted my teeth when I saw the man whom I trusted the most. He was my brother! He was a family, but he was the first one who betrayed me, who betrayed us.
"Trevor! Please don't do this to us, " mother says, her voice cracked while trying to stop herself from breaking down.
Trevor just shrugs his shoulders and turn his gaze on me, giving me a smirk that made me glare at him.
The thoughts of how I loved him as my brother was too despicable, he was the worst of all!
"Get them and prepare the execution. The Emperor wouldn't want to wait such event right?" he said without even a glint of guilt on his tone.
No! No! Don't get them!
The servants who tried to protect us wasn't able to do so, they were killed in front of us.
Commander Raynold tried to kill the knights who tried to get my father who was on his knees, but I trembled with horror when Trevor stabbed him on his chest using the long sharp sword.
That sword, the one that I bought myself and gifted to him.
I cried heavily while embracing my mother tightly. Father was still on his knees, unable to move because of his emotions.
The knights got him that made me tremble into fear. I tried stopping them, but they arrest my mother too who was crying while trying to stop the knights from getting her.
"No! No, please no! Mother! Father! Give them back to me!" I plead and tried following them but I was imprisoned in the arms of Trevor.
Why is this happening to me? I didn't do anything wrong. I always do what they wanted me to do, I didn't betray the Empire, but I was the one who was betrayed.
I was dragged inside the cold dark cell. I was undressed and only wore a thorn white thin dress, my accessories was taken, and my long whizzed platinum hair was cut.
They tortured me to death using a whipped and tied my hands using a thick chain.
Fourteen judgement and they will execute me.
I burst a laugh, creating an echo inside the dark cell. I heard the drops of water from the roof and the sound of rats running around the floor.
This life that I always treasured because I thought I was the most happiest woman in the world, but I was wrong.
It was only a substitute time for this day. I've been ignorant and naive, I trust so many people that I never thought that one day they will betray me.
I start tearing up making me sob from all the pain.
Mother, it doesn't hurt so please don't worry about me okay? Don't worry...
I heard footsteps entering the cell and I saw him, Trevor was making a cold stare when our eyes met.
"How does it feel?" he asked.
I spit out on him and chuckled. "Fuck you."
He showed me a key and opened the cell door and walk closely towards me. I can't see him very clearly but I can smell that perfume, that was the perfume I've given to him.
The aroma of river and tulips.
"Does it hurt?" I felt his hands caressed my cheeks making me shiver with anger.
"Don't you dare lay a hand on me traitor," I said.
His lips moved upwards before he grinned. "You can call me that, but I wouldn't have done it if only you loved me back."
My eyes darken hearing what he just said, how could he betray us?!
"You're unworthy of my love! Father raised you as his own son, even Mother who was a stranger to you loved you as her own son—"
"I don't need them, I only need you in my life. " He cut my words off.
I want to kill him right now, a fucking despicable man.
I thought he was a brother, but he was a snake who fall in love with me. I am her sister, how could he do that? He betrayed us just because of that?
"Crazy bastard, " I say.
He licked his lower lip before locking the Door cell and before he left, he gave me a word that I did not understand.
"I can't have you if you're alive, then I'll have you when you're dead."
"Send the witch to the guillotine!"
"Kill the sinner!"
I cannot barely see anything because of my eyes was bleeding. I was dragged on the platform where the guillotine is.
Everyone was watching, especially the Crown Prince and that bitch.
I chuckled remembering the promise he made in front of me.
That time when he took an oath for me.
I thought that it was fairytale yet it was only an illusion. Everything that happened between us was only a temporary happiness.
"In behalf of the people who died in the hands of the sinner, let us witness the execution of Talia D'aureville. Prepare the Guillotine, " the knight says.
The two knights dragged me and placed my head on the centre guillotine.
I heard that on the same day where I was dragged inside the cell, Mother and Father was executed and their bodies was burned.
My father who was called the 'hero' was forgotten. My mother who was the model of all the noble ladies was only remembered as the mother of the sinner.
I can't accept this, why am I dying?
Everyone I treasured was killed, the people I trusted betrayed me. How? How can I accept such death?
I can only hear the people shouting for my death, they are waiting for my head to be cut off.
These people that I once thought I treasured was celebrating for my death. Ridiculous, how stupid I am.
I can't accept this, I can never accept such death like this.
If I were given a second chance to live, I will take my revenge and take back everything that was stolen from me.
I will never let my family to die again, I will protect them until I got to see the eyes of these people begging for forgiveness for what they've done to my family.
I will take this death as the beginning of my revenge.
I gasp while chasing my breath. My hands caressed my neck that I thought was cut off.
What is this? I thought I died.
When I calmed my breath, I ran to the nearest full body-sized mirror and froze when I saw the twelve-year-old me.
It was the appearance of my younger self, how could this be?
I tried slapping my face, but I only received the pain from my slap.
A smile appeared on my lips.
Did I really go back to the past?

I took a deep breath before getting the pen and the paper on my bag. I opened the 13th page and started writing.“Spring has come but I feel like Iʼm a naked body standing outside the winter. Shivering and being devoured by the cold. All those days of plague and pain has overwhelmed me and turned my life into mayhem. Little by little I am swallowed by the devastating world and hollowed by afflictions and self-doubt.Those floral days are over, paradise fled away and transmigrated into a dire world filled with pure melancholy.”Upon writing those words I crumpled the paper and throwed it. I dropped my pen for I donʼt know what to write anymore. When I turn my gaze outside the window, the sunset was creating a light to the path of freedom.I smiled with warmth painted on my face. As I started to write another letter for the next 14th page.Dear Unknown,
The sky wears a mix color of black and gray. I cast about some luscious voice but heard the whisper of the cold wind that will likely bring downpour and thunder.Later I witnessed the cloudburst of little white flowers so as all the grievance and mourning that spreads sorrow to the entire atmosphere.I literally donʼt understand the unforseen happenings but wished for all of them to quit whining. Seconds had passed, I saw myself somewhere deep in a cold stratum. I didnʼt realize that darkness offered tranquility in this overwhelming situation. It goes like this all the time, I miss everything that I had back then such as the chirping of the little birds that creates a soothing melody. Ocean waves rage and banged through the sea rocks. Itʼs been too long since Iʼve seen the dawn so as the sun that peeks through the mountain and greets a good morning. I havenʼt seen the stars and the moon and couldnʼt grasp a chance to acquaint them all my lamentations and

Talia's pov.Mind of mine was in its peaceful state, caught up with the silence of the whole room. Lately, I've been grasping the scent of old books I've always read in the past. I missed the old times, the scent of books and painted calligraphy so as discerning the dust particles in the air from the old bookshelves. While I am sipping the tea from my teacup, I was reminiscing the old good times when I was still at my teenage years. I was the lady who chose to stay silent and lived a life without getting involved into any tensions."Rumors that the nobles failed to pass their request about abolishing your crown. That's why the Sylvestrian people are creating a ruckus outside the Imperial Palace to surrender the imperial seal," Declan said.I hummed and put the teacup on the table. "I guess they aren't good enough," I mumbled.A servant suddenly arrived while holding a tray of glass of water and a medicine. "Greetings,
Third person's pov.The clock hits midnight and its sound was echoing throughout the tranquility of the night. The storm was on a rage outside while the nobles and governed officials were silently aligned inside the inner court of the Imperial Palace. They commence a meeting in order for them to propose their assumptions and as usual, they are taking advantage of the Crown Princess's rumored critical condition."Allow us to speak for our nation, your Majesty."Despite the ruckus inside the Imperial Palace, the Emperor was able to attend the meeting.
