I continued to draw while Dominic and Blake talked. I know I should probably be more involved in my future, but to be honest, I was new to this world, and I trusted Dominic with my life. I know, as a human, that sounds crazy. I hardly knew him, but as a wolf, that was completely normal. I knew in my gut he would never harm me, and I trusted that feeling. Besides, my apparent brother had no plans to split the two of us up, and as long as we stayed together, I was okay with whatever was decided. It was true I had no idea how to protect myself, and it would feel nice to be able to know a few things.

The silence that followed their conversation was pleasant. At least until the silence ended abruptly about an hour later. During that whole time, Dominic simply watched me draw. He never once got annoyed that that was what I was doing. He never once pulled the pencil from my hand to question what I was drawing and why. He didn't get angry that I hadn't paid attention to the conversation
