Cody stared down the man before him, seriously thinking about knocking him on his tail in the dust. Cody said coldly “I believe you’ve said more than enough, and you know the way out.” He didn’t take the hint and fired off saying “Is this what you do? Wait until good people are down on their luck and swoop in take over their life’s dream.” Cody couldn’t help himself; he laughed and said “Is that what your neighbors told you, that they lost the place because of hard times?

When they arrived all the hands were on deck to unload the horses. Cody made sure the most expensive horses got the bigger more prominent stalls, because as he said they were used to more luxurious surrounds. Cody said he’d put in calls to try and find out who they had bred her with. Depending on the stud used she could have a foal that wasn’t worth anything. As soon as Angel got home, she rushed inside to change into jeans, her boots and hoodie. She ran like a bat out of hell to the barn where Cody and the hands were steadily trying to get the foal to eat. Cody said, “He won’t, nurse and I don’t think she is putting out enough for both foals.” The vet arrived five minutes after she did and took, a look at the foal; he was even looking weak from lack of nutrition. He said “We are going to have to put him on a supplement she isn’t producing enough for both hell at this rate I do not think she is producing enough for one. The birth was hard and traumatic for her. We should separate them from her and put them in their own stall together, and then you will have to feed them both the supplement every 4 hours.” Angel looked up as her father and shockingly Damon came marching into the stable. By the end of the meeting things had been completed as she had hoped, and everyone knew what they had to get done. Her Aunt Lillian would be handling ordering fifteen passenger vans for the Center and two trucks, as well as a minivan for Meredith’s personal use. The work was never done; Maria joined in on the cleaning frenzy and surprisingly so did a couple the hands that Cody could spare, even Grant and Trace got in on the action. While the girls were sweeping and mopping the floors in the two bedrooms, she noted the outdated appliances in the kitchen and had the men carry them out. Back at the house Angel walked through her closet trying to decide what to wear. She was going to go with what she would have worn to a club back in Cali. True she had some nice club dresses in her wardrobe now, but they weren’t conducive for dancing. She pulled on some cargo pants that were black and fit her body perfectly; they rode low on her hips. She then pulled on a shirt she had bought that had slits in the shoulders and was cut in various places strategically over her black tank top, she put on her shoes and pulled her hair up into a ponytail her curls prominently on display.
