Chapter 27

Kali's POV

As I drift back into my body, the darkness spreads through my mind. I begin to slowly lose sense of what was actually happening and what had just happened. It felt more like a dream as my body began to wake. I could feel my toes start to twitch as my mind was telling me to open my eyes. As I opened my eyes the lights blinded me making me instinctively flinch.

I then heard shifting next to me and that sweet deep voice that melts me away with every breathe in between each word he speaks. "Kali, how are you feeling? Are you able to hear me?" His voiced filled with so much concern but so sleepy at the same time.

I went to talk but felt tubes coming out my mouth and only gargles came out while I half choked.

"Don't try and talk, just nod if you can. You're still on a whole bunch of monitors for a precaution. I'll get Doc."
