Chapter 22: The Date (I)

2021-05-22 15:26:12Leading her in, Mason felt quite nervous. He didn't know if she'll like anything or not, but he still wanted to give this date, their first official date, a chance. For her.
He felt like he was getting the pre-wedding jitters while walking down the aisle. In his mind, he had a scenario of a gust of wind blowing by and destroying his perfect date; the table and chairs flying away, the beautiful fairy lights hanging from the tree, rustling and falling down, the lanterns set up crashing down and the tent he had place infront of a projector, wanting to watch a nice movie with his Angel, flowing away. Clenching his fists, controlling his unpleasant thoughts, he looked at her to see her expressions, he just wanted to focus on her; whether she liked it or not. Nothing else mattered.
"I'd like to tell you something, Angel," he started as they neared the gate, "This is my first time taking a girl on a date," he said, nervously rubbing his neck.

🍒Angela🍒 Mason came home the next evening with a grave mood. I was worried something happened while he was at work. Something was off with him, he was giving clipped off answers to my questions. "No." Startled by the third voice that spoke, we both turned our head towards the figure that came running towards us. Dylan.Worry and fear etched his face, and he was breathless by the time he reached us. The tone of his voice, the worry, and his untimely interruption indicates something big. 🍒Angela 🍒 And as if a sudden realization hit my mind, my eyes grew big. Was this...? "C'mon Angel, I didn't plan this for myself," he spoke, leaning towards my ear, "but if you still want to stay close, we can still go back home and--" Before he could speak further, I slapped his arm (even though I knew it didn't even hurt him a little), moving back. Instantly, I missed the warmth of his body but didn't let it show. I was still trying to figure out my new feelings. But this was certainly not the time to assess the reason of my rapidly beating heart. "Ouch!" he rubbed his arm where I slapped him causing me to roll my eyes at his over acting. "Drama Queen," I chuckled, shaking my head and grabbed his outstretched hand as he led me to the dinner table. "Kiss it better?"
