Erin's POV

Azure’s hand remained outstretched for what felt like a lifetime. I knew the moment I placed my hand in his, this entire ruse would be over.

My mind felt conflicted, and Azure felt magnetic.

Abandoning all sense, I hesitantly placed my hand within his, earning a triumphant grin from him.

“Thank you for indulging me,” he whispered, wrapping an arm around me. His skin felt electrified and warm, despite the layers of fabric between us.

“You did spend five-hundred thousand dollars for tonight,” my voice was raspy, and I cleared my throat. “Might as well make it worth it.”

Azure felt familiar… As if I'd known him my whole life.

He let out the softest chuckle, so soft, his chest barely moved, “This night with you was priceless. Don’t consider the money as anything more than a generous donation.”

For the first time since walking into that conference room, my nerves had me tongue-tied.
