I yawned tiredly.
I hated waking up early. I wish for nothing more than to skip this lecture, burying myself deep in blankets as I drifted back off to sleep. I could laze around in the comfort of my bed without having to worry about facing them or the new responsibilities I had to face being an adult. Or at least, push it off until the sun sunk a bit lower into the sky.
“Drink your Frappuccino, Rae.” Daniella nails clicked against the screen of her phone as she gulped down her own sweetened coffee. “I even told them to add extra chocolate sauce and chocolate chips to it.”

“It’s not healthy for a young girl to only eat junk food.” A pile of pale, yellowish noodles sat heavy in a thick layer of white sauce. Freshly cooked herbs mixed well with the hearty smell of buttery garlic and cheesy cream. Slices of greasy chicken sunk deep into the creamy alfredo sauce, the fatty oil mixing into the white sauce. “You need something other than pie and icecream, sweetie. A heavy layer of grayish black paint coated each wall of the bedroom. Odd carvings and designs littered the walls that weren’t covered in paintings. Raelynn POV: Having a safe place was a needed necessity when it came to keeping my mental stability stable. My mental psyche was a bit fragile. It was easy for my mother and older sister to pick apart whatever wall I had built up. Throughout the years, it tumbled down far too easily without much effort on their part. Whether they came at me separately to enjoy their own private toture or enjoying their sadistic sport of tag teaming until I was a pitiful, sobbing mess, I was at their mercy day after day. I could remember when I used to suck at drawing. My attempts were nothing more than a pathetic scribble. A meager scrawl that stained the pages. Despite the bad effort, my stress and anxiety still melted away as I drew whatever I could. It was practice that made me better. Long hours huddled away as I repeated the same doodle until it actually turned out into something good. Looking back on my old drawings was a weird balance between soothing and cringey. I took in the old drawings that I’ve given Daniella, a little surprised and kinda happy that she’s kept all of them. I could easily remember when and why I drew what I did.
