Meeting Him

“It’s not healthy for a young girl to only eat junk food.” A pile of pale, yellowish noodles sat heavy in a thick layer of white sauce. Freshly cooked herbs mixed well with the hearty smell of buttery garlic and cheesy cream. Slices of greasy chicken sunk deep into the creamy alfredo sauce, the fatty oil mixing into the white sauce. “You need something other than pie and icecream, sweetie. I will be more than happy to give you it for dessert if you're still hungry after my son’s homemade chicken alfredo.”

“You have a son?” I twirled the fork into my pasta, “I didn’t know you had a son. Is he a chef here too?”

“Of sorts.”

I blinked.

“He’s only just recently started to cook here. He’s usually away dealing with his own business.” She explained. I listened intently as I shoved the forkful into my mouth. “He’s only made a few things so far. The Chicken Alfredo you're eating now and the apple pie you’ve had.”

“He’s really good.” The ingredients combined amazingly with each other. The grease
