Welcome Distraction
Hi!Hope y'all enjoy! I'm grateful for this opportunity so if there is a chance that y'all can leave feedback about what you like or dislike about my story, please do so!---Raelynn POV:Homework has quickly become the bane of my existence. An overdramatic statement that I would loudly complain about when a certain subject arrived. History was a subject that my brain could not comprehend easily. The numerous, long winded facts and at times, boring tales, was not something that could get my overworking brain to focus.I eyed the thick textbook and scattered papers distastefully. I was barely halfway done with my essay, having long given up by firmly shutting the lid of my laptop in a desperate attempt t

Into the Unknown!
Raelynn POV:I was back in the room again. My dark green eyes roaming over the familiar details of the room as my body sank into the comfortable bed. A heavy layer of grayish black paint coated each wall of the bedroom. Odd carvings and designs littered the walls that weren’t covered in paintings. While other paintings showed a gorgeous drawing of this man, some were detailed paintings of forests or mountains. As my gaze glides across the room, vaguely taking in everything else before eagerly snapping back to the painting of the man. This is how my time is usually spent whenever I’m trapped here. On the rare occasion that I leave the comfort of the bed to poke around and explore. My attention is usually glued to the

Haven
Raelynn POV: Having a safe place was a needed necessity when it came to keeping my mental stability stable. My mental psyche was a bit fragile. It was easy for my mother and older sister to pick apart whatever wall I had built up. Throughout the years, it tumbled down far too easily without much effort on their part. Whether they came at me separately to enjoy their own private toture or enjoying their sadistic sport of tag teaming until I was a pitiful, sobbing mess, I was at their mercy day after day.    Chilling eyes would follow me gleefully as I scurried around fearfully in the house I lived in. Painful jabs and insults would be sent my way without hesitation. I could actually be having a good day. Waking up without my brain muddled with the messy vines I called negative thoughts. It wouldn’t take long for either one of them to plant the seeds to make

A bit bored
I could remember when I used to suck at drawing. My attempts were nothing more than a pathetic scribble. A meager scrawl that stained the pages. Despite the bad effort, my stress and anxiety still melted away as I drew whatever I could. It was practice that made me better.  Long hours huddled away as I repeated the same doodle until it actually turned out into something good. Looking back on my old drawings was a weird balance between soothing and cringey. I took in the old drawings that I’ve given Daniella, a little surprised and kinda happy that she’s kept all of them. I could easily remember when and why I drew what I did. A good day that I wanted to share and show with Daniella. A bad day that I longed to escape. A boring day that I decided lightly doodling would help appease the boredom.  &nbs

Hey Dola
Raelynn POV: I yawned tiredly.  I hated waking up early. I wish for nothing more than to skip this lecture, burying myself deep in blankets as I drifted back off to sleep. I could laze around in the comfort of my bed without having to worry about facing them or the new responsibilities I had to face being an adult. Or at least, push it off until the sun sunk a bit lower into the sky.  “Drink your Frappuccino, Rae.” Daniella nails clicked against the screen of her phone as she gulped down her own sweetened coffee. “I even told them to add extra chocolate sauce and chocolate chips to it.” I eyed the chilled drink unhappily, “I’m so tired.” “I know y

Nose Ring & Feelings
The blend of gold and copper was bent perfectly into a tiny heart. A gorgeous coat of rose gold colored the shaped material. Tiny, smooth specks of shiny diamonds weaved around the heart in vine-like curls.I was in love with the design I created. It took days for me to perfect every last detail. Days that could have been spent towards homework or maybe taking time to assess the mental damage I’ve sustained during the past few days. It could've been better spent, I admit.   I know it wasn’t anything special. I could’ve easily bought one that looked way better than what I designed. But I was proud of this. It was a bit out of my comfort zone. I’m used to drawing characters or broader items. I rarely ever attempt to draw something with su

Meeting Him
“It’s not healthy for a young girl to only eat junk food.” A pile of pale, yellowish noodles sat heavy in a thick layer of white sauce. Freshly cooked herbs mixed well with the hearty smell of buttery garlic and cheesy cream. Slices of greasy chicken sunk deep into the creamy alfredo sauce, the fatty oil mixing into the white sauce. “You need something other than pie and icecream, sweetie. I will be more than happy to give you it for dessert if you're still hungry after my son’s homemade chicken alfredo.”“You have a son?” I twirled the fork into my pasta, “I didn’t know you had a son. Is he a chef here too?”“Of sorts.”I blinked.“He’s only just recently started to cook here. He’s usually away dealing with his own business.” She explained. I listened intently as I shoved the forkful into my mouth. “He’s only made a few things so far. The Chicken Alfredo you're eating now and the apple pie you’ve had.”“He’s really good.” The ingredients combined amazingly with each other. The grease
