FAZER LOGINRaven's POV
I burst through the entrance at the city hospital. We had a clinic that was exclusive to werewolves from our pack, but Lily's injuries had been so severe that she had to be taken to a bigger hospital with advanced facilities. I rushed straight to the reception, hyperventilating. I had managed to hold myself together but I was gradually losing my strength. “I'm here for Lily Cole,” I swallowed. “I'm her mother.” The nurse on duty looked at me with a mix of confusion and sympathy. “I'll look through the records,” she responded. I impatiently stood there, counting the seconds it took her to access the computer in front of her and log into the system. “Luna, please calm down. I'm sure she will be alright,” one of the ladies from the packhouse who had come with me said softly. I turned to look at her wordlessly. She didn't know that. She didn't know what she was saying. I finally understood the unease that had been choking me all day. I subconsciously knew something bad would happen to my daughter but I had ignored the feeling. I should have gone back home. I should have stayed with her. “Lily Cole…” the nurse mentioned her name and I perked up, fixing my attention on her again. She stared at the screen for a bit and grimaced before looking at me with more sympathy than before. “She's in surgery,” she said, giving me a warm smile. “I’m sure the doctors are doing their best.” “S-surgery?” My heart sank and my chest started to constrict. I couldn't breathe any longer. “What happened to her?” I strained the words out of me. “From the records here, people around said she fell down a flight of stairs,” the nurse paused and her words sank in. “She suffered a traumatic injury to the right side of her head and the back of her neck.” “Oh goddess,” I went weak in my knees. I know what she was trying to tell me. Brain and spinal cord injury. I headed to one of the seats at the reception, burying my face in my hands. I wept silently. Waves of devastation coursed through me, and they were followed by dread. Usually, werewolves would be able to heal from those types of injuries why the right treatment. But Lily was a child. She had not gained access to any of the abilities that came with being a werewolf. My heart twisted in agony. There was a very high chance that I was going to lose my daughter. The realization was crushing. It was so crushing that I saw myself dying with her. Living without her would be unimaginable. She was my whole world now. I got out of my seat. “How did this happen?” I asked the lady that had come to deliver the crushing news to me. “How did she fall?” She swallowed and hesitated. I immediately knew what I was going to hear. “I demand you tell me now.” “Luna…” she trailed off and took a deep breath. “The alpha's mistress’s son was yelling at her for one of her toys. The alpha came between them and as he tried to separate them, she fell.” In the next moment, all I could see was red. Marcus… Marcus had done this to my daughter. He had pushed her down the stairs because of his mistress's son. I didn't want to believe the worst, but he had given me no choice. This was not the first time he had been violent with Lily. I slowly made my way out of the reception, hoping that the cool breeze would stop me from losing my mind. My racing heartbeat pounded in my ears. Why had I stayed despite the disgusting ways he had treated Lily, the ways he had treated me. We very clearly meant nothing to him. Why had I stayed long enough to keep my daughter's life in danger? There was no place for us with him anymore. At this rate he would kill Lily and then kill me. Fury and determination fuelled the decisions I made over the next thirty minutes. I was going to divorce Marcus. That would be the best way to go. ___ ___ ___ “What the hell is this?” Marcus asked as I set the papers on his office desk. I tiredly tucked the stray strands of my dull hair behind my ears. I had been at the hospital for two days while the papers had been processed by my lawyer. Lily hadn't woken up after her surgery and I was using the last of my life force to keep my hopes up. “Read it,” I rubbed my swollen eyes and stepped back from him, preparing myself for his reaction. His eyes skimmed over the pages and then widened as he realized what they were for. “Raven,” he looked up at me. “What is this?” “Divorce papers,” I said firmly. “I want out.” He stared at me for a few seconds before he burst into laughter. “You cannot possibly be serious,” he said after sobering up. “I am, Marcus. You put my daughter's life in danger,” I resisted the tears that flooded my vision. “Our daughter! She could be dying because of you!” I yelled. “Are you out of your mind?” He questioned. “After everything I've done for you? I made you the Luna of this pack and you want a divorce now?” He walked up to me. I closed my hands into fists, expecting him to hit me. He had not done it before, but I didn't think he was not above it. “You have no one. You have nowhere to go. I will not let you take my daughter away from me,” he growled. “Our daughter you almost killed?” I chuckled, looking up at him. “I will do whatever it takes to make sure we leave you. I am done with you,” I spat at him and stormed out of the room. If he was going to make this difficult, I could do it too.Dax’s povI rubbed my hands on her arms soothingly as she cried into my arms. I wish I could understand how she felt but I didn’t. This pain was intense!Imagine receiving this type of hate from your own family!I almost left her to go after her mom and speak sense into her. Couldn’t she see beyond the surface level that her daughter wanted her in her life? I had never been so disappointed in a person before. This was ridiculous!“I can’t believe they left! I am now alone,” Raven whispered, crying profusely. With the corner of my eye, I saw Lily coming down the stairs. Raven also saw this and quickly disentangled from the hug, cleaning her tears away. “Mommy, are you okay?” Lily asked. Raven nodded her head almost immediately. “I am totally fine. Something just got into my eyes and it became very serious,” Raven quickly lied. I knew she was trying to protect Lily from the truth but seeing her forcing a smile despite the fact that she was breaking down did something to me. “O
Raven’s pov“Here, this is where she stays!”“I can't believe this, she was cheating on her mate all this time!”I fluttered my eyes open, wondering if this was a dream. “What the hell is going on?” I asked myself, my voice still sounding raspy. I was still trying to process the whole thing when I heard a loud bang on my door. I gasped in shock and pulled my duvet away before rushing down the stairs. “Oh goddess, can I have a single day to myself?” I whispered, wondering who was causing a nuisance outside my door. On getting there, I met Jade with my mom making a scene out the door. “What the hell are you both doing?” I whisper-yelled. “Look at her! Look at this disappointment that you call your daughter! I can't even blame dad for disowning her!” Jade yelled at the top of her voice. “You'd better reduce your voice, my daughter is upstairs and I don't want her to hear this,” I warned them, pointing at the space between us. Before I could even say something else, I felt a shar
Raven’s povI walked into the pack house and met Dylan on his way out. “Really? Do you even have time for yourself?” I asked him, raising my brows. Dylan nodded, holding my arms. “She is actually really coming around. I think she fell for me, just a few days ago. She insinuated that we tell our families,” Dylan said, I could feel the excitement that radiated through him. “That’s better! You have been hiding this for far too long. Plus, you having to be with her almost every time is draining,” I said, trying so hard not to complain. I didn't want it to seem like I was projecting my insecurity on him but it was so hard to trust anyone now. Especially when it came to a sensitive topic like love. “I have told her so much about you and she said she can't wait to see you. Just a few more days,” Dylan said. Dylan was about to walk away but stopped. “Remember not to tell anyone about this. I think Dax is beginning to suspect that I have something up my sleeve,” He said. “I am sure h
Dax’s pov“Hey, just wanted to drop this and leave,” Dylan said and placed the document on my table. “What are you up to man? These days you are rarely around,” I asked him, not able to keep it to myself anymore. “You’ll get to find out sooner than later,” Dylan told me, and I wanted to go out but I quickly got on my feet and stopped him. “So there is actually something, I can't believe you are hiding something from me, Dylan,” I said, scoffing in disbelief. He usually had a blabber mouth and would have spilled something but this was going on for weeks. Maybe even months. “Dax, I actually have a tight schedule. Maybe we could do this some other time?” he said and rushed out. I was curious. I tapped my feet gently as I tried to think of the reason why he was so secretive. “Was he building a house? Or maybe a project?”No matter how I tried, I just couldn't think of the right answer. I do know someone who could know about this. If he hasn't told me anything about this ‘secret
Dax’s pov“I think you should have respected her decision,”I kissed my teeth, raising my head to look at Dylan. “What decision? You want her to disown her family?” I asked him angrily. Dylan shrugged. “I don’t think they even care about her in any way. Her sister is here for a reason,” “I have my eyes on her but I am only trying to help Raven.”“That is her sister, I am sure she came all the way to apologize. Nothing else,” I responded. “I went to speak to her yesterday and everything about her was screaming fake,” He said. I raised my hands in surrender. “How about we give her three days. I am sure if she truly wanted to ask for forgiveness then she would be able to do that in those three days,”“After that, I’ll get her to go back to her pack,” I told Dylan. Dylan nodded his head. “That is such a good plan. Have you spoken to Raven recently?” He asked. I dropped my pen. “She literally sent me out of her apartment the last time. I don’t think she wants to see me anytime s
Jade’s povI smirked immediately when he turned his back on me. “Ohh, girl. You are such a good actress!” I praised myself, chuckling evilly. Things were looking great. I got on my feet, going to stare at the window. And for Raven, that butch disgraced me today!I could not blame her; she had already grown wings, and now she could talk to me however she wanted. Even though Raven was older, I have always had the upper hand. I manipulated our parents and made sure she accorded me respect. In return, I humiliated her with every chance I got. Just like I am going to do soon. I could not wait to see her tears-streaked face when she realised her gullible new man fell for my plans. What was he even thinking anyway? That I would willingly come to this shambles of a place! Especially since everyone liked her here. I could not live here, it was infuriating!I was touching the plants on my table when I felt a figure behind me. I quickly wiped the smirk off my face and turned to stare at
