LOGINRaven's POV
I burst through the entrance at the city hospital. We had a clinic that was exclusive to werewolves from our pack, but Lily's injuries had been so severe that she had to be taken to a bigger hospital with advanced facilities. I rushed straight to the reception, hyperventilating. I had managed to hold myself together but I was gradually losing my strength. “I'm here for Lily Cole,” I swallowed. “I'm her mother.” The nurse on duty looked at me with a mix of confusion and sympathy. “I'll look through the records,” she responded. I impatiently stood there, counting the seconds it took her to access the computer in front of her and log into the system. “Luna, please calm down. I'm sure she will be alright,” one of the ladies from the packhouse who had come with me said softly. I turned to look at her wordlessly. She didn't know that. She didn't know what she was saying. I finally understood the unease that had been choking me all day. I subconsciously knew something bad would happen to my daughter but I had ignored the feeling. I should have gone back home. I should have stayed with her. “Lily Cole…” the nurse mentioned her name and I perked up, fixing my attention on her again. She stared at the screen for a bit and grimaced before looking at me with more sympathy than before. “She's in surgery,” she said, giving me a warm smile. “I’m sure the doctors are doing their best.” “S-surgery?” My heart sank and my chest started to constrict. I couldn't breathe any longer. “What happened to her?” I strained the words out of me. “From the records here, people around said she fell down a flight of stairs,” the nurse paused and her words sank in. “She suffered a traumatic injury to the right side of her head and the back of her neck.” “Oh goddess,” I went weak in my knees. I know what she was trying to tell me. Brain and spinal cord injury. I headed to one of the seats at the reception, burying my face in my hands. I wept silently. Waves of devastation coursed through me, and they were followed by dread. Usually, werewolves would be able to heal from those types of injuries why the right treatment. But Lily was a child. She had not gained access to any of the abilities that came with being a werewolf. My heart twisted in agony. There was a very high chance that I was going to lose my daughter. The realization was crushing. It was so crushing that I saw myself dying with her. Living without her would be unimaginable. She was my whole world now. I got out of my seat. “How did this happen?” I asked the lady that had come to deliver the crushing news to me. “How did she fall?” She swallowed and hesitated. I immediately knew what I was going to hear. “I demand you tell me now.” “Luna…” she trailed off and took a deep breath. “The alpha's mistress’s son was yelling at her for one of her toys. The alpha came between them and as he tried to separate them, she fell.” In the next moment, all I could see was red. Marcus… Marcus had done this to my daughter. He had pushed her down the stairs because of his mistress's son. I didn't want to believe the worst, but he had given me no choice. This was not the first time he had been violent with Lily. I slowly made my way out of the reception, hoping that the cool breeze would stop me from losing my mind. My racing heartbeat pounded in my ears. Why had I stayed despite the disgusting ways he had treated Lily, the ways he had treated me. We very clearly meant nothing to him. Why had I stayed long enough to keep my daughter's life in danger? There was no place for us with him anymore. At this rate he would kill Lily and then kill me. Fury and determination fuelled the decisions I made over the next thirty minutes. I was going to divorce Marcus. That would be the best way to go. ___ ___ ___ “What the hell is this?” Marcus asked as I set the papers on his office desk. I tiredly tucked the stray strands of my dull hair behind my ears. I had been at the hospital for two days while the papers had been processed by my lawyer. Lily hadn't woken up after her surgery and I was using the last of my life force to keep my hopes up. “Read it,” I rubbed my swollen eyes and stepped back from him, preparing myself for his reaction. His eyes skimmed over the pages and then widened as he realized what they were for. “Raven,” he looked up at me. “What is this?” “Divorce papers,” I said firmly. “I want out.” He stared at me for a few seconds before he burst into laughter. “You cannot possibly be serious,” he said after sobering up. “I am, Marcus. You put my daughter's life in danger,” I resisted the tears that flooded my vision. “Our daughter! She could be dying because of you!” I yelled. “Are you out of your mind?” He questioned. “After everything I've done for you? I made you the Luna of this pack and you want a divorce now?” He walked up to me. I closed my hands into fists, expecting him to hit me. He had not done it before, but I didn't think he was not above it. “You have no one. You have nowhere to go. I will not let you take my daughter away from me,” he growled. “Our daughter you almost killed?” I chuckled, looking up at him. “I will do whatever it takes to make sure we leave you. I am done with you,” I spat at him and stormed out of the room. If he was going to make this difficult, I could do it too.Raven’s pov EpilogueThe full moon appeared as everyone waited with their torches outside the pack house. Every member, old and young all came out to witness something that hasn't happened in years. They have prayed for their Alpha to find his mate, someone that would capture his heart and would be able to build a family together with him but it didn't happen.Rumors had started spreading that he was impotent, some said he was too stern to fall in love but today was a different day. Today was the day Alpha Dax was going to claim me as his Luna right under the full blue moon. I stood at the edge of the tree line, my heart hammering against my ribs. I was very anxious. Lily's tiny hands tightened my arms, showing that she was also nervous. “Mommy, are they all staring at us? I have never seen so many people,” Lily exclaimed. I chuckled softly, crouching to meet her gaze. “They are all staring at us,”“But why? Did we do anything wrong?” Lily asked innocently. Kids, they were
Raven’s povThe gravel crunched under the tires as we finally pulled up at the pack house garage. My forehead rested on the cool grass, my head still trying to wrap around the whole event that had happened earlier. It was finally over, all of it.The accusations, the shame, disrespect. Everything was over and I felt so much better. I didn't know why this victory didn't taste sweet, it tasted more of exhaustion.“You are quiet again,” Dax said, his voice deep and gentle as he cut the engine. I sighed in response. No matter how much I tried not to think about it, the realization after everything that had happened was still there. “Marcus was finally sentenced, and the truth was out. I could see the pain on Marcus’s face. At least I now know that he felt remorseful for everything he did. But I kind of feel empty…” I responded. Dax held my arms and turned me so I could fully look at him. “Thats definitely not emptiness. It is just your body letting down its shield after so many ye
Raven’s povWe were heading back to the courtroom today. I placed my hands under my chin tiredly. “I really hope today is the last verdict. We have been dragging this for way too long,”’I complained, clicking my tongue. Dax used one hand to hold mine and the other to control the steering wheel. “Focus on whatever you are driving,” I said, chuckling softly. “I can't resist you baby,” he whispered, staring at me. I blushed slightly and tried to hide my blush but I couldn't. “You look so breathtaking,” Dax said, pecking the back of my hand. We finally got to the courtroom, and it was so crowded everywhere. “I am guessing today has to be the final verdict, everywhere is crowded,” I said. Once they saw that I was coming in, they all paved the way and started praising me. I smiled at them, waving at them. “We have missed you so much, we want you back at the pack house,” I heard some of them say. I only smiled in response because I really don't have an answer. I already had a l
Raven’s pov“What’s wrong?” Dax asked me worriedly. I picked up my phone and tried to call the number that just called me, but the call didn't go through. “Someone called me and said something but—”“Hello, yes I didn't get you the first time,” I said to the person. “Your sister is in the hospital, she was involved in an accident,” the person said and ended the call. Dax rolled his eyes when I repeated the message I just heard. “I hope you are not believing whatever nonsense whoever that person is saying,” Dax said, taking my phone from my hands. “Of course, I'll believe it! He said Jade was involved in an accident, and we have to find whatever hospital she is at,” I responded with a tone of urgency. Dax sighed. “You have such a kind heart,” he said, kissing my forehead. “I am very sure this is one of her tricks. She is trying to lure you out so she can harm you,” Dax said. It was then that everything clicked. Dax was very right. I kissed my teeth in irritation. “Honestly
Marcus’s pov“Marcus, you can’t be serious!” Sienna said, raising her voice. “After everything I did to help you! I did exactly everything that you have always asked me to do so how will you believe what she had to say so easily!”“You can't believe her, we have planned all of this together. I know things are not looking as good as we planned because of all of this but we will solve the problem. Trust me, I am willing to help you out of this, and then our life would continue happily ever after,” Sienna said, holding my arms. I rolled my eyes.“Sienna, get the hell out of my face,” I said, hissing angrily. I have been gullible enough! If she thinks I was going to fall for one of her tricks again then she had to be joking. “No! Stop this silly DNA nonsense, Ethan is your son!” She squirmed. “Why are you acting this way! We were together when I got pregnant with Ethan. We were literally dating, what then is the problem?”“If you claim so then no problem, I’ll wait for the DNA result
Raven’s pov “My daughter,” my father said, trying to hold my arms, but I shifted away from him, moving closer to Nana. “I know I have wronged you but it is not my fault. Your sister totally deceived all of us,” my father said, trying to form a pitiful look. I scoffed in disbelief. “So now you are blaming all of this on Jade!” I asked, shaking my head. Even though Jade has been the worst sister, I knew she was not the cause of any calamity that has befallen our family. “Of course, who else will all of these be blamed on? She lied against you,” I rolled my eyes. “And you believed her! You believed her every single time without batting an eyelash. Even when the truth was so obvious, you chose to believe her,”’ I whisper-yelled. “I am sorry, we know we have all offended you,” my mother quickly butt in. From what I was seeing, my father wasn't remorseful one bit. As a matter of fact, he still felt confident in himself after everything he had done. Well, I wasn’t up for
Marcus POV“That's not true!” I landed my hand harshly on the table making everywhere go silent. If there was one thing I hated the most was the general lunch with the elders of the pack. They somehow managed to turn even a little proper lunch into a war zone for the clash of different political th
Raven's POV Of course everyone would be surprised by the mention of that one word.BLACK MAGIC.It was forbidden in the pack and even the entire kingdom.I watched the color drain from Dominic's face as if he had just seen a ghost or the devil himself.Which was quite hilarious given the amount he
Sienna’s POVI hated the way they looked at her.It wasn’t obvious; not loud, not foolish. The pack wasn’t stupid enough to openly disobey Marcus. But loyalty was a strange thing. It didn’t always speak.Sometimes it lingered in silence.Sometimes it lived in the way heads turned, in the way bodie
Sienna's POV“Pour the tea!” The maid shivered quite visibly and to say the very least, I felt extremely happy with what I was doing at the moment. Her grip against the porcelain cup was tight as it shoke slightly spilling the tea out of the rim.“Don't be stupid!” I screamed with pure venom in my
