LOGINRaven's POV
“What do you mean?”, I didn't even pause to register her reply as I pushed past her to the crowded lot. I could feel the heat as I pushed everyone aside as I tried to reach the front. There was a car….not just any car, the same car that Marcus had warned I and Lily to stay away from, all because it was a gift for his mistress and her son. The windows were broken as well as the bumper, and it was lodged deep into the fence. And beside it was my little girl's school bag and favorite pencil purse alongside her coloring books sprawled all over the floor, but Lily wasn't in sight. Panic coursed through me as I ran my fingers roughly through my hair and turned to one of the guards, “Where's my daughter?” “She was taken to the pack's memorial hospital” I wasn't thinking straight at this point; one of the guards quickly arranged a car for me, and we began our journey towards the hospital without wasting much time. All I could think of was my daughter…my precious little girl. “Was the Alpha present when the accident happened?” I asked to soothe my mind; I didn't know who I was kidding. “Yes he was, but….” He trailed off, and that piqued my curiosity. “Speak!” I ordered, and he began blurting everything out at once. “He was there when it happened, but then almost immediately, Sienna had a panic attack probably over the accident, so the Alpha rushed off with her to their chambers and then delegated someone to go with the princess. I'm sorry Luna” He ended dejectedly, which only made me feel worse. His very own flesh and blood was involved in an accident, but then he had the guts to be all over his mistress? Marcus just had to blow the one real chance he got to act like a real father to Lily. Damn it! “And she was excited”, I whined as I buried my face in my palms. The poor one couldn't even read the bad air that passed between all of us. Who was Marcus trying to impress? The perfect father figure, my foot! Soon enough we reached the hospital; Oh, how I hate the strong smell of antiseptic and blood. My mind was in a haze as I thought of what my little girl must be going through. I rushed to the receptionist and explained everything to her, and she directed me to her room. Room 302 The second I reached the front of her room, I heard a really loud scream, and my heart seized. I burst into the room; her elbow looked awkward. “Mommy!” Her cries became louder as she saw me. I rushed and held on to her right. My little baby girl. “Luna please you'll have to hold her. We have to shift the bone back in place. She was lucky to have only been hit on her arm; it could have been a different story if she wasn't a brave girl and dodged it in time. Now please hold her.” Dislocated? That bad? And he still ran off with his mistress. “Mommy's here now, shhhh don't cry princess” I couldn't help but cry along with her, not only because of the pain but also because of the neglect she had to endure too. Everything was really messed up. Seconds later, a heart-wrenching scream filled the air and the quick snap of bone. This isn't what a five-year-old should go through. Not one bit. The doctors gave her a candy and then anesthesia, which subdued the pain, and soon enough she was asleep, her long lashes still wet with tears resting on her pale pink cheeks. My little Lily, she deserves all the love in the world, and yet she has to fight for attention with an illegitimate child. Even as she was between consciousness and dreamland, she kept muttering in her sleep, and I could only pick out a few words. "Daddy, Park!" for the same monster that would probably not pick her even in his next life. All these were only frustrating, to say the least. As I was sure that she was asleep, the doctor asked for a few words, and so I went ahead to his office with him, but not after asking the guard that came with me to monitor her closely and call me if anything comes up. All the doctor said was disheartening, as I thought about it a few minutes later when I was back at her side, running my hands through her soft hair. Her sugar level has dropped, and she has a high level of possible trauma. Possible trauma while still in her own home, her very own pack….it all seemed absurd. But I knew too well that it was the truth regardless. I was still lost in thought as I heard a bit of scuffling outside and placed a quick kiss on Lily's forehead before going outside to figure out what exactly was going on. And just as I expected, it was the almighty Alpha Marcus and his ever-ready mistress that kept posing as the perfect one. “What do you want again, Marcus?” I said in a low tone as I shut the door close and faced him. “That is no way to….” Sienna started, but I cut her off immediately. “This is a family matter; stay out of it, please.” Marcus was caught off guard; Sienna glanced at me and then went to the side to wait. "What happened with Lily Marcus?” I rephrased my question. “Look I'm sorry, it wasn't intentional. Sienna insisted on driving the car….” “Even when you know she doesn't have any driving experience?” My voice was rising already, but I didn't care. “She didn't know that Lily was at the front waiting and lost control of the wheels” I was tired of all these excuses, really I was. “You know we could just end all these feigned concerns?" He looked at me confused, then asked, “What do you mean?” “Let's get a divorce”Raven’s pov EpilogueThe full moon appeared as everyone waited with their torches outside the pack house. Every member, old and young all came out to witness something that hasn't happened in years. They have prayed for their Alpha to find his mate, someone that would capture his heart and would be able to build a family together with him but it didn't happen.Rumors had started spreading that he was impotent, some said he was too stern to fall in love but today was a different day. Today was the day Alpha Dax was going to claim me as his Luna right under the full blue moon. I stood at the edge of the tree line, my heart hammering against my ribs. I was very anxious. Lily's tiny hands tightened my arms, showing that she was also nervous. “Mommy, are they all staring at us? I have never seen so many people,” Lily exclaimed. I chuckled softly, crouching to meet her gaze. “They are all staring at us,”“But why? Did we do anything wrong?” Lily asked innocently. Kids, they were
Raven’s povThe gravel crunched under the tires as we finally pulled up at the pack house garage. My forehead rested on the cool grass, my head still trying to wrap around the whole event that had happened earlier. It was finally over, all of it.The accusations, the shame, disrespect. Everything was over and I felt so much better. I didn't know why this victory didn't taste sweet, it tasted more of exhaustion.“You are quiet again,” Dax said, his voice deep and gentle as he cut the engine. I sighed in response. No matter how much I tried not to think about it, the realization after everything that had happened was still there. “Marcus was finally sentenced, and the truth was out. I could see the pain on Marcus’s face. At least I now know that he felt remorseful for everything he did. But I kind of feel empty…” I responded. Dax held my arms and turned me so I could fully look at him. “Thats definitely not emptiness. It is just your body letting down its shield after so many ye
Raven’s povWe were heading back to the courtroom today. I placed my hands under my chin tiredly. “I really hope today is the last verdict. We have been dragging this for way too long,”’I complained, clicking my tongue. Dax used one hand to hold mine and the other to control the steering wheel. “Focus on whatever you are driving,” I said, chuckling softly. “I can't resist you baby,” he whispered, staring at me. I blushed slightly and tried to hide my blush but I couldn't. “You look so breathtaking,” Dax said, pecking the back of my hand. We finally got to the courtroom, and it was so crowded everywhere. “I am guessing today has to be the final verdict, everywhere is crowded,” I said. Once they saw that I was coming in, they all paved the way and started praising me. I smiled at them, waving at them. “We have missed you so much, we want you back at the pack house,” I heard some of them say. I only smiled in response because I really don't have an answer. I already had a l
Raven’s pov“What’s wrong?” Dax asked me worriedly. I picked up my phone and tried to call the number that just called me, but the call didn't go through. “Someone called me and said something but—”“Hello, yes I didn't get you the first time,” I said to the person. “Your sister is in the hospital, she was involved in an accident,” the person said and ended the call. Dax rolled his eyes when I repeated the message I just heard. “I hope you are not believing whatever nonsense whoever that person is saying,” Dax said, taking my phone from my hands. “Of course, I'll believe it! He said Jade was involved in an accident, and we have to find whatever hospital she is at,” I responded with a tone of urgency. Dax sighed. “You have such a kind heart,” he said, kissing my forehead. “I am very sure this is one of her tricks. She is trying to lure you out so she can harm you,” Dax said. It was then that everything clicked. Dax was very right. I kissed my teeth in irritation. “Honestly
Marcus’s pov“Marcus, you can’t be serious!” Sienna said, raising her voice. “After everything I did to help you! I did exactly everything that you have always asked me to do so how will you believe what she had to say so easily!”“You can't believe her, we have planned all of this together. I know things are not looking as good as we planned because of all of this but we will solve the problem. Trust me, I am willing to help you out of this, and then our life would continue happily ever after,” Sienna said, holding my arms. I rolled my eyes.“Sienna, get the hell out of my face,” I said, hissing angrily. I have been gullible enough! If she thinks I was going to fall for one of her tricks again then she had to be joking. “No! Stop this silly DNA nonsense, Ethan is your son!” She squirmed. “Why are you acting this way! We were together when I got pregnant with Ethan. We were literally dating, what then is the problem?”“If you claim so then no problem, I’ll wait for the DNA result
Raven’s pov “My daughter,” my father said, trying to hold my arms, but I shifted away from him, moving closer to Nana. “I know I have wronged you but it is not my fault. Your sister totally deceived all of us,” my father said, trying to form a pitiful look. I scoffed in disbelief. “So now you are blaming all of this on Jade!” I asked, shaking my head. Even though Jade has been the worst sister, I knew she was not the cause of any calamity that has befallen our family. “Of course, who else will all of these be blamed on? She lied against you,” I rolled my eyes. “And you believed her! You believed her every single time without batting an eyelash. Even when the truth was so obvious, you chose to believe her,”’ I whisper-yelled. “I am sorry, we know we have all offended you,” my mother quickly butt in. From what I was seeing, my father wasn't remorseful one bit. As a matter of fact, he still felt confident in himself after everything he had done. Well, I wasn’t up for
Raven's POVI could feel everything slowly falling apart, but then again, there's nothing that I can do about it. I couldn't turn the hands of the clock, or change the tides to my favour. But I wish I could change them because of my little girl. She deserves so much better. It started slowly at fi
