EVANGELINE. Time passed by rather fast, but I don’t know how long it actually was. There is no time on the moon, yet something tells me it is late at night. ZIAHRA. “I don’t think that’s wise.” Kash says to Zerachiel. Kash had just stepped out of the temple when Zerachiel had tried to get past him. Being dutiful and loyal towards Zedkiel, he has been taking care of Evelyn and making sure nothing upset or hurt her. Something that has only been getting on Zerachiel’s nerves, but nothing compared to how annoyed he looks now that he has blocked him. “I didn’t ask you. I said I am going to speak to her.” Zerachiel says coldly, frowning at him. “Why?” Kash counters, “The bond… I may not be one with Zedkiel, but we are still linked, and he will want to make sure that she is ok. ZEDKIEL. “My Goddess… I don’t think that’s possible.” Soren, one of the high servants, says to Evangeline. It’s the following day, and we have spent the day learning everything we need to. There is a lot here that needs doing, neglected for centuries. I’m shocked they’re even functioning without their leader. Without their goddess, the people themselves are looked down upon as outcasts. We are now in the palace garden, standing beneath the celestial tree of Bonds. Its trunk and branches are silvery grey, shimmering under the light and upon the trunk is the same symbol that covers Evangeline’s back, engraved into the tree, shimmering a deep silvery black. The leaves of the trees are a stunning mix of all shades of blues, each leaf is lighter at the centre with a deeper blue hue around the edges and upon these leaves are written the name of every couple that is tied together by the mate bond in a shimmering silver. KASH. Two more days have passed, and we have been travelling mostly by car since then, without stopping, but today something wasn’t right and Ziahra was adamant we’ll be stopping at a place to stay for the night. The decision was abrupt, but no one questioned her and I didn’t manage to get her alone to ask her what was going on either. It was actually the last of my concerns, especially since Evelyn was no longer eating and she was refusing to speak, simply nodding when spoken to, almost as if she didn’t want to communicate with anyone. Zerachiel was as arrogant as ever, but didn’t seem bothered by her silence. Ragnar had said she had been crying after Zerachiel had talked to her, and it makes me wonder if he had said something to make her end up like this. I’ve been watching him, and the more I see of him, the less I like him.
