EVELYN. The darkness wants to rip through this place from the anger and pain he’s evoking within me. “I will never stop.” He says, his hand tightening painfully, and I feel something crack in my jaw, as pain rushes up it, making my eyes sting with tears of pain. ZIAHRA. “I don’t think that’s wise.” Kash says to Zerachiel. Kash had just stepped out of the temple when Zerachiel had tried to get past him. Being dutiful and loyal towards Zedkiel, he has been taking care of Evelyn and making sure nothing upset or hurt her. Something that has only been getting on Zerachiel’s nerves, but nothing compared to how annoyed he looks now that he has blocked him. “I didn’t ask you. ZEDKIEL. “My Goddess… I don’t think that’s possible.” Soren, one of the high servants, says to Evangeline. It’s the following day, and we have spent the day learning everything we need to. There is a lot here that needs doing, neglected for centuries. I’m shocked they’re even functioning without their leader. Its trunk and branches are silvery grey, shimmering under the light and upon the trunk is the same symbol that covers Evangeline’s back, engraved into the tree, shimmering a deep silvery black. KASH. Two more days have passed, and we have been travelling mostly by car since then, without stopping, but today something wasn’t right and Ziahra was adamant we’ll be stopping at a place to stay for the night. The decision was abrupt, but no one questioned her and I didn’t manage to get her alone to ask her what was going on either. It was actually the last of my concerns, especially since Evelyn was no longer eating and she was refusing to speak, simply nodding when spoken to, almost as if she didn’t want to communicate with anyone. EVANGELINE. I have never worn a dress with so many jewels, yet at the same time feel as light as I do. The lightweight shimmering silver fabric somehow holds the tiny diamonds that adorn it, despite how flimsy the fabric appears to me. The skirt that flares at my thighs seems to float around my feet, as it hugs my thighs. It is strapless and attached to the back, is a glimmering darker silver fluid-looking fabric, that trails on the ground behind me. Unlike the dress which contains only tiny jewels, this top layer contains diamonds in several colours, different shades of reds, greys and clear diamonds. All combined to create a beautiful design on the trail. My neck, arms and ears are glittering with jewels, and upon my head is a matching crown. The only makeup I am wearing is a deep red coloured lipstick. My hair is styled in a small quiff to hold my tiara, the rest is left open, glittering with tiny jewels. EVANGELINE. ‘Evangeline…’ Zedkiel murmurs. ‘Do you have faith in me?’ I ask softly through the mind link. Our eyes meet, and he frowns before giving a small nod. Seeing the wisps of light that begin to rise from all around us, from the walls and the ground itself. The light begins to swirl in the air as they grow and join one another before they begin wrapping around me. It's intense and for a moment I can’t breathe, before the tendrils begin to sink into my skin. I feel it, the pure power of the moon itself. My hair moves in a non-existent wind, swirling around me. “Then with the power vested in me, by his Supreme Majesty, the Eternal God, I announce you, Goddess Evangeline, the rightful and only Goddess of the Moon!” The symbols swirl around me, wrapping around my arms and body like a chain binding me. EVANGELINE. The door closes behind us and we are left in one of the grand sitting rooms of the palace. A waterfall fountain is against one wall, splitting open as it parts down the centre, curving along the archway that leads off from the room. I hope I have made the right choice in asking to see him.
