Chapter forty two

He dropped the phone and went to lie on the couch. Darell heaved a sigh and stared ahead at nothing. At such a young age, he already had a lot of responsibilities sitting on his shoulders.

He has to take care of the pack, take charge of protecting the city from infiltrating werewolves, handle his father's business, and, to top it all, he has to take responsibility for the awakened vampire who turned out to be his mate.

Growing up as a child, he has always had things go his way, was pampered by his parents and was even allowed to attend a college in the city.

Everything changed the night his father was killed, all the responsibilities left behind were suddenly placed on his shoulders.

This was why, as often as he could, Darell made sure that he had fun in clubs to ease the tiredness and exhaustion he always felt. It was a great thing Chris had always been by his side to help him during difficult times.
