Chapter thirty eight

A maid entered the courtyard carrying a tray with a glass of juice, which she curtly offered to Ariel. Ariel grinned and thanked her for the beverage but stated that she would rather have wine than juice.

The maid wondered aloud to herself, "Do you order your hosts around when you are a guest?" she imagined Ariel to be overbearing and exploiting the fact that she worked in the mansion.

The young lady took the juice back, but she smiled nicely and pretended not to be angry. The employee quickly followed up by bringing red wine back, hoping she wouldn't object to that either.

Thankfully, Ari didn't voice another complaint. Ariel called the employee back as she turned to leave. Ariel enquired, "When will Aimea be here?"

She will arrive shortly, as I previously stated. She'll be here shortly. To avoid coming off as rude or anything, the employee added, "Ma'am."

"Okay. Thanks a lot."

Before leaving, she made a bow. Aimea reappeared in view a short while after she had vanished, dressed in
