“Revon, stop!” I screamed as I took after him. “Revon!”

But Revon didn’t seem to have heard any of it. He stumbled out of the reception room with all the grace of a newborn colt, nearly falling on his face when he slipped on some melted snow at the doorway.

I didn’t think twice before running after him.

To be honest, I…didn’t know what to think. It was like my mind refused to process what I’d just learned, and instead, I focused on salvaging the situation at hand with a frightening intensity.

  • His Elusive Omega, His Resolute Alpha   Chapter 133-Annalise

The house was abuzz with servants running around when she returned.A young maid nearly collided with her as she rushed out of the door with a suitcase. Annalise had to jump out of the way to avoid her.“Watch where you’re going!” she snapped, hand automatically going to the coat pocket that held her pills.“I’m terribly sorry, Madam,” the maid replied with a slight bow of her head. It was one of the East Asian ones, she supposed.“Why are you in such a hurry?” she asked. “Also, why are there so many suitcases?”“Mr. Hartwell said the trip has been extended, Madam,” the maid looked nervous as she conveyed the information. “He will be staying past the New Year.”“What?!” Annalise’s fists clenched. “And this is how I get informed of this? By a maid!”The poor girl looked terrified.“I’m sorry, Madam,” she bowed again. “We were just informed as well.”With a huff, Annalise turned on her heel and barreled into the house.Annalise was no stranger to gigantic houses that were far too large

Thank God it was winter.Otherwise, Annalise wasn’t certain how she could’ve explained away the long sleeves and the intense shivering. As she walked down an alley that was still dark in the middle of the day, she buried her fingers in the gloves and tried to keep from itching her skin. There were already red scratches all over her arm, and she didn’t want to make them bleed. As she rounded the corner, she desperately hoped that Derk had already arrived at their meeting spot. Usually, they did their business after the sun set, but Annalise knew she would not be able to hold on for that long. She had gone through her weekly stash faster than expected. But it wasn’t her fault; it had been Christmas. Which meant both her and her husband’s parents and siblings decided to plague her with their presence, and she had been expected to host them for Christmas dinner. And it had been awful. Mrs. Hartwell was cattier than ever, always finding a fault in Annalise, and Mr. Hartwell simply did not c

“Alright, I’ve given you enough time to deal with…whatever this is, and everyone’s getting even more worried than we were,” my father’s voice came from the doorway. “Care to tell me what exactly is going on with you and your boyfriend that’s got you drinking alone in the dark? Also, is that from my premium collection?”I gulped down the leftover whiskey in my tumbler and put the glass down with far too much force.“Y’know,” I slurred, my brain feeling as if it were swimming in jelly. “Y’know what’s the mos’ fucked up par’ bout’ this?”“Jesus Christ, how much have you had to drink?” Dad asked, moving closer, squinting at the base of my chair. “Three bottles? You drank three bottles of…is that rum? When do you even drink rum?”I ignored him.“The mos’ fucked up part is that I had a fuckin’ dream, Dad,” I looked at him. “How the fuck could I ‘ave dreamt it, Dad?”“Adam, you’re not making any sense,” my father replied, his voice soft. “We have no idea what’s going on with you two. You went

It was like my mind refused to process what I’d just learned, and instead, I focused on salvaging the situation at hand with a frightening intensity. The cold and the snow hit me hard as soon as I exited the building. The storm had descended upon the city during the minutes we’d been inside, and it was already compromising my visibility.I could barely make out Revon’s shape racing towards the road from the alley.“Revon, stop!” I cried out once more, but he was not listening. He ran like he was processed, faster than a track athlete. His feet hadn’t even made deep indents on the snow; the man was pretty much flying. My lungs burned as I raced

I couldn’t breathe.I could not breathe.I remembered it all.I remembered the baby, I remembered the phone call. I remembered going to school despite everything telling me to stay home. I remembered Annalise’s assault.I remembered how it hurt. How I’d curled around myself immediately to protect my stomach. That was how my head was so damaged; I hadn’t protected it at all.All that was in my mind was that I had to protect the baby. All throughout the assault, they kept cursing me out, kept telling me what kind of a slut I was to go after another woman’s Alpha, but none of it mattered.I remembered begging them to stop, telling them I was pregnant and they were trying to kill my baby, but they had just laughed at me.They’d thought I lied.At the end, just before I lost consciousness, one of them whispered in my ear.“Stay away from Adam Kennedy, or the next time, you won’t get away with your life.”And then…I remembered waking up in a hospital. My family had been there. They were ang

“Revon, you really need to tell me what’s going on, okay? Where are we going?” Adam asked, driving as fast as he could. “What’s going on?”“I don’t know where we’re going,” I replied, looking out of the window. “Take a right turn at the next intersection. I just remember the directions.”“You’re getting new memories?”“Something happened to me after you left,” I said, diving into my own psyche to remember. But all I got were bits and pieces. They were trying to come together, but something inside me was doing its best to keep them apart.‘Don’t,’ my own mind was trying to tell me. ‘Don’t go down that path. Please.’But I couldn’t listen to that. These memories were from what happened after my conversation with Adam behind the shooting range six years ago. While listening to Aunt Janet’s story, the block holding it all back began to fracture. Certain things she said kept repeating in my mind.Especially the part with the two gunmen, and her and the baby nearly dying…“I went somewhere,”

“Don’t…” Adam breathed, and suddenly, he lurched forward.I didn’t know what to do. It was far too late to step back, and I wasn’t heartless enough to let him fall face-first onto the dirty bathroom floor. So of course, he landed on my arms.My heart started racing as his scent filled my nostrils,

Adam’s football friends strode towards us, and I felt a cold sweat on the back of my neck as I saw the expression on his face.Adam was nowhere to be seen.As soon as they were close to us, Annalise sprang to her feet and rushed to them.“Oh, Jaice, AJ! I just wanted to sit with my friends,” she pl

“What a jerk,” Avery muttered as we sat at our usual table at the corner of the cafeteria. “Did you guys hear about what happened in Hallway C?”The rest of our friend group sat at the corner table near the garbage cans, the least desirable spot. Eaton, Quinn, and KC raised their head as we slumped

She laughed again. And then again. And again. With each laugh, the hope in my chest dwindled, as if she had taken an axe and hacked at it. At first, I thought she was laughing from shock. But there was no mistaking the tone of the laugh that followed. It was mocking. My heart sank. Something unplea
