Emma POV Emma was pacing back and forth, so lost in her thoughts that she didn’t hear Logan come back into the office. So, when he put his hand on her shoulder she nearly jumped out of her skin. “Whoa there, you ok?” Logan asked. “Yeah, I’m fine. What did Alpha Kyle say?” Emma asked. “He told me that everything that belonged to your ancestors are still in their old house. When your great great grandparents died, their house was closed up and everything was left inside. Nobody has been in the house since.” Logan told Maggie. “Really?” Maggie asked. Logan nodded his head. “Is Kyle related to you in any way?” Maggie shook her head. “My great grandmother was an only child. After she left the pack, the beta’s family took over as alpha.” “I asked Kyle if it would be ok for us to come and go through things, with your permission of course.” Logan said. “I would like to go too. Logan POV The car ride from Shadow Moon pack to Black Night pack seemed to take forever. Logan could barely concentrate on driving because he was feeling so much anxiety coming from Emma through their bond. He wouldn’t admit it, but her having that kitten with her helped her anxiety some. She was still anxious, but nowhere near as bad as she was on the way to Shadow Moon. He understood why she was so anxious, he just wished she didn’t have to be. They had spent most of the day going through things that belonged to her family. They found old pictures in the attic, but none of the pictures held the woman they were looking for. Which only means that if the woman was one of Emma’s ancestors, she pre-dates the invention of the camera. They were in the process of boxing things up to have sent to Shadow Moon pack. Maggie decided she wanted to take her ancestor’s belongings home with her. Not that he could blame her, he would want to as well, but he wished this process could hurry along.

Unknown POV Sir, the lady has left the pack’s territory with the Alpha. Guards? Yes, sir. A car in front and a car behind. Keep on them. He closed the mind link. He had his scouts keeping an eye on her, watching, waiting, hoping to catch her outside the territory. Her Alpha was proving to be annoying. Nobody had left territory’s fences in weeks. At least not without guards. He had to get her alone. Get her away. She would be his queen, even if he had to slaughter the whole pack to get her. Although he would prefer not to have to. Killing the whole pack would be too messy, and attract too much attention. One missing wolf wouldn’t raise too many questions, but slaughtering an entire pack would be a completely different story. Logan POV She was absolutely beautiful. Logan watched Emma as she shifted into her wolf. He had never seen anything so beautiful. She was perfect. And almost as big as he was. The way she moved was so graceful and agile. And FAST. Emma left him and Dylan in the dust. He watched as she ran ahead of them until she was out of sight, he began to slightly worry even though they were still inside their territory, he didn’t like not being able to see he. Emma POV Emma couldn’t sleep. She kept having dreams of wolves attacking her pack and killing everyone, and she was helpless to stop it. All she could do was stand there, frozen, watching everyone in her pack die. The dreams were getting worse, more vivid, and changing. Now, in the middle of the wolves there was this one wolf that stood in the center of the rest. This wolf was solid red, the color of blood, its eyes were completely black. She had seen this wolf before. It was the same one that attacked her. She didn’t know what it was about this wolf, but it terrified her. She kept these dreams to herself. She didn’t want to tell Logan, he was already worried enough as it was. It was tearing her up not telling him, keeping this to herself has been a burden almost too heavy for her to carry. Unknown POV Glass shattered against the wall. He was losing his patience. “Sir, she has been spotted alone out of the territory's fence. What do you want us to do?” He froze, could it really be? Finally. He will have her. He snapped his head around. “Get her, bring her to me. Don’t harm her.” “Yes sir.” The man walked away. He will have his queen at last. Logan POV Logan walked into his office, it was a mess. There was a body-shaped hole in the wall, broken pieces of shelves and books were scattered across the floor. He ran his fingers through his hair and let out a sigh. He walked around the desk and sat in the chair. There were two fist-shaped indentions in the desk. Emma was gone. Something was making her angry, he could feel it through the bond, feel the power behind it. She was definitely more than what either of them had realized. Emma POV Emma could feel Logan trying to push through her mind block, but she kept him out. She blocked him through the bond as well. She couldn’t let him get through to her, she knew he was going to come after her, to try and find her, but she couldn’t let him. She had to do this alone, she didn’t know why, she just knew she had to. She could smell them around her, behind her. She could hear them following her. She hit the river and dived under and let the current take her downstream. When she couldn’t hold her breath anymore, she surfaced. She couldn’t smell them anymore. She climbed out of the river on the other side and took off. She had enough confidence in herself that they wouldn’t be able to catch her. Emma POV She slammed the door as she stormed out of Logan’s office. She refused to hear any more of Logan’s lecturing. She was tired and all she wanted to do was take a shower and go to bed. She closed the bathroom door and turned on the water to as hot as she could stand it. Once the steam had clouded the bathroom, she climbed inside and let the water run over her body, the hot water relaxing her muscles. She sat down and pulled her knees to her chest, watching the water running off her go from red to clear as all the blood washed off. She didn’t know how long she sat there, but when the water turned cold, she finally stood up and turned off the water. She grabbed the towel and dried off before hanging it back up. She picked her clothes up off the floor and put them in the laundry basket. She walked out of the bathroom and into the closet and got some pajamas and put them on.
