Dear Readers, I am having a hard time with deciding on what is going to come next. I have written several different versions of this next chapter in different character's POV but I can't decide which one to use, so I am going to leave it up to you. Emma POV She is alpha by blood. And not just any Alpha, but a Highborn Alpha. Which means she was born to two alpha parents, and a long line of them at that. Highborn alphas were bigger and more powerful, pure Highborn alphas even more so, they also live longer than regular werewolves. A pure Highborn Alpha line is rare, only two lines of them remain, hers and another pack's Alpha. Every child born in a pure Highborn Alpha line has been born to two Alpha parents throughout the entire line. But as packs started disappearing, moving, or just being completely wiped out, Highborn Alphas were rare to be born. A lot of alphas found their mates that have a lower rank. Logan POV He was running late to the Alpha and Beta gathering at the Shadow Moon’s pack. His Beta was already there and had text him and told him the party was in full swing. Alpha David went all out on this party. He was to announce when he planned on letting his son, Dylan, take over as Alpha since his 19th birthday had already passed. Dylan had been sitting in on meetings the past few years, as was tradition, learning about how to be an Alpha. Emma POV Emma hung up the phone. She was hoping the phone call from Logan would have better news. She didn’t want to wait until her and Dylan’s 20th birthday to be with Logan. It was nine months away, that was too long. She paced back and forth in front of her bed, it was a nervous habit of hers, but she didn’t have any other way to work out her frustrations, so pacing would have to do. Logan said that he would try to talk to Dylan and see if there was anything that he could do to help. That wasn’t likely. Her phone chimed, it was Logan. Emma watched out of her bedroom window at the staff as they set up tables and chairs on the back lawn. She opened the window so she could smell the freshly cut grass, she loved that smell. The staff was getting everything prepared for Dylan’s shifting ceremony that was happening tonight. All the Alpha’s would gather in the back yard and eat, and once the moon was at its highest, they would watch Dylan shift for his first time. She was excited that she would get to see Logan, even if it was through her window. He would at least be close and she could see him in person. Logan had talked her through how to video chat, so they got to see each other and talk to each other through the phone, but it wasn’t enough. She wanted to touch him and hold him and kiss him. Logan POV It was time for Dylan to start shifting. Alpha David had called everyone to gather around. Logan got up and walked over, he checked his phone again. Emma was supposed to text him when she got in the car. He prayed to the moon goddess that nothing went wrong. There was still no text from her. He put his phone back in his pocket. He watched as Dylan started his shift. As soon as he started to shift, he could feel pain. It was coming from Emma. He pulled out his phone and text her and asked her if she was ok. No reply. He was getting worried. The more Dylan started to shift, the more intense the pain became. He was a little over half way into his shift when they all heard a blood curling scream come from the side of the house and the pain he was feeling from Emma stopped. Logan POV Logan paced back and forth in front of the door that led into the room where his doctor was examining Emma. Dylan was sitting on the floor with his head in his hands. It seemed like forever before the doctor came out, Logan didn’t like the look on his face. “How is she?” Logan asked. Dylan raised his head up. “She isn’t doing well, Alpha. But I need to clarify a few things first.” the doctor said. Logan nodded his head as Dylan stood up. “What do you need to know?” Dylan asked. The doctor turned to Dylan, “Alpha Logan said that Emma is your twin, she five minutes older.” Dylan nodded. “And your father had you try to shift before her, correct?” “Yes.” Dylan answered. “Is your family’s highborn alpha line pure?” the doctor asked. “Yes, but what does that have to do with anything?” asked Dylan. Emma POV Emma had been in the hospital for three days and she was getting restless. She felt fine now and she was ready to leave. She wanted to go home with Logan. Dylan was still here, he said he wasn’t going home until she was out of the hospital. Emma was very impatiently waiting for the doctor to come back. He said he wanted to run a few more tests before he felt comfortable letting her go. The nurse had already come in and took out her IV and took her off the heart monitor. Emma swung her legs over the side of the bed and slowly stood up. She was still weak, but stronger than what she was a few days ago. Logan had been by her side almost every minute of the day and had insisted on helping her move around, but today he had to go meet with the pack elder.
