Zara POV Zara sat in the upstairs office that Emma had claimed for her own. She was having a hard time believing the things Emma had told her. First, this Alessio guy was the one that had her parents killed, the one that has been after her ever since she was a kid. Alessio POV They had been hiding, watching, for two days now. Waiting. “Sir, something isn’t right.” Sebastian said. “I know.” he said curtly. They had watched the patrols go by all day yesterday, and today, not one single patrol. He didn’t need his Beta to tell him something that was obvious. “They know we are coming. Alessio POV Alessio leaned against the car, his patience wearing thin. He was anxious to be on the road. Where the fuck are you? He mind linked Sebastian, letting his impatience sound through his voice. Almost there, sir. Well hurry the fuck up. Yes, sir. Still leaning against the car, Alessio crossed his arms over his chest. Alessio POV He woke to the sun shining through the windows. Rubbing the back of his hand over his eyes, wiping the sleep out of them, he sat up in the huge king-size bed. Emma was lying next to him, snoring softly. She still hadn’t woken up from the sedative, but it should be wearing off at any time. A low growl rumbled from his chest as he saw part of the mark on her neck, peeking out of the collar of her shirt. Soon it would be his mark on her neck instead. He swung his legs over the side of the bed and placed his bare feet on the cold wooden floor. He felt completely rested, he hadn’t slept this good in years. Alessio POV He stood on the rocks, watching the sun beginning to creep up over the horizon. Brilliant rays and hues of red and orange cascaded across the sky. Anger coursed through him. Emma POV She is alpha by blood. And not just any Alpha, but a Highborn Alpha. Which means she was born to two alpha parents, and a long line of them at that. Highborn alphas were bigger and more powerful, pure Highborn alphas even more so, they also live longer than regular werewolves. A pure Highborn Alpha line is rare, only two lines of them remain, hers and another pack's Alpha. Every child born in a pure Highborn Alpha line has been born to two Alpha parents throughout the entire line. But as packs started disappearing, moving, or just being completely wiped out, Highborn Alphas were rare to be born. A lot of alphas found their mates that have a lower rank.
