Xavier's POV

"That's not true. Thelma's not the jealous type. She'll understand when I explain about your mother, about the promise I made."

Something flickered across Elizabeth's face, too quick for me to read. "You haven't told her about me yet?"

"I haven't had the chance. But I will tonight, at dinner. In fact, why don't you join us? That way you can meet her properly."

"Oh, I wouldn't want to intrude on your time together."

"You wouldn't be intruding. Thelma's going to be curious about you anyway. Might as well get the introductions out of the way."

Elizabeth bit her lip, seeming to consider. "If you're sure..."

"I'm sure. It'll be good. Thelma's amazing, you'll love her."

"I'm sure I will." But something in her smile didn't quite reach her eyes.

That evening, I spent an hour in the kitchen preparing Thelma's favorite meal: herb-crusted salmon with roasted vegetables and wild rice. Cooking wasn't something alphas typically did, but I'd learned early on that Thelma appreciated the

  • His Historical Luna   Chapter sixty-one: The Way You Make Me Feel

THELMA'S POVThe trial grounds were packed.Every pack leader who'd survived the Council attack was there. Hundreds of wolves, all watching, all waiting to see if Xavier would live or die.The fighting circle had been drawn in the center, ancient symbols that would prevent anyone from interfering. Once Xavier stepped inside, he was on his own.Aurelius was already waiting. He was massive. Easily a foot taller than Xavier, with muscles that looked carved from stone. His eyes were cold, calculating. This was someone who'd been bred and trained for one purpose, killing opponents in single combat."He's huge," Clara whispered beside me."Size isn't everything," I said, but my voice shook."Thelma…""He's going to win. He has to win." I watched Xavier approach the circle, his injured arm still in a sling. "Because the alternative is unacceptable."Elder Morrigan stepped forward to officiate. Despite everything, the exposure of Council corruption, Thorne's death, she still held her position

  • His Historical Luna   Chapter sixty: The Morning Before

XAVIER'S POVI woke to soft touches.Thelma's fingers traced patterns on my chest, following old scars and new bruises. We'd fallen asleep in the war room, not exactly comfortable, but neither of us had wanted to leave the other."You're awake," she murmured."Hard to sleep when you're doing that." I caught her hand, brought it to my lips. "Not that I'm complaining.""I've been thinking.""That's dangerous."She swatted my chest lightly. "I'm serious. About today. About the trial."My stomach tightened. Right. The trial. Against Aurelius. While I was still recovering from fighting Thorne."Don't," I said. "Don't think about it. We'll face it when it comes.""I can't help it. I keep seeing the threads, Xavier. The possible outcomes. And some of them…" Her voice cracked. "...some of them end with you dead.""But not all of them?""No. Not all.""Then I'll make sure we get one of the good ones." I pulled her closer, ignoring the protest from my shoulder. "I didn't survive Thorne just to

  • His Historical Luna   Chapter fifty-nine: Make Me Go Crazy

THELMA'S POV I'd never felt anything like this. Xavier's mouth on me was pure sin. His tongue explored every fold, every sensitive spot, learning what made me gasp and what made me scream. When he sealed his lips around my clit and sucked, I had to bite my hand to keep from waking the entire building. "Don't," he commanded, pulling back. "I want to hear you." "Everyone will…" "Good." He dove back in, even more aggressive now. His tongue thrust inside me while his thumb worked my clit, and I stopped caring about who might hear. "Xavier!" I couldn't stop moving, hips rolling against his face, chasing the pleasure. "Oh God, oh God…" He added his fingers again, two of them stretching me while his mouth focused on my clit. The dual sensation was overwhelming. I was going to come again, harder this time, and… "That's it," he encouraged, feeling me tighten around his fingers. "Come on my tongue. Let me taste you." I exploded. The orgasm ripped through me like lightning, so intense I

  • His Historical Luna   Chapter fifty-eight: Memories

XAVIER'S POV Kelvin looked like hell. Dark circles under his eyes. Clothes torn and dirty. Fresh cuts on his face and arms. But he was alive, and the desperate hope in his expression when he saw me made my chest tight. "Xavier." He took a step forward, then stopped, uncertain. "I know I have no right to be here. After what I did, what they made me do…" "Your sister," I said. "We know they were blackmailing you. We're planning a rescue." The relief that washed over his face was palpable. "She's alive? They told me she was alive, but I didn't know if I could believe them. If they were just…" "She's alive. And we're going to get her out." I gestured to the war room. "Come on. You can help us plan." "Xavier, I…" His voice cracked. "I attacked Thelma. I nearly killed her. How can you…" "You were being tortured. Blackmailed. They took away your choice." I gripped his shoulder. "What matters is what you do now. Will you help us take down what's left of their operation?" "Yes. God, y

  • His Historical Luna   Chapter fifty-seven: Dangerous Proximity

THELMA'S POVThe war room, a generous term for what was essentially a converted storage space, buzzed with tactical discussions. Maps covered every surface. Clara and Elizabeth argued over troop formations. Marcus reviewed supply lists. Everyone was preparing for the worst.Everyone except Xavier, whose eyes kept finding me across the room.I tried to focus on the crystal's data streaming across the laptop screen. Names. Dates. Connections. Everything Matthias had died to give us. But I could feel Xavier's gaze like a physical touch, hot and insistent. When I finally looked up, his attention wasn't on my face. His eyes were fixed on my chest.Heat flooded through me. I glanced down and immediately understood why. The thin tank top I'd changed into after last night's chaos did absolutely nothing to hide the way my nipples had hardened under his stare. They pressed visibly against the fabric, two peaks that might as well have been screaming for his attention.I should have been embarras

  • His Historical Luna   Chapter fifty-six: Celebration And Consequences

THELMA'S POV The safehouse was chaos. After the battle at Council headquarters, Marcus had evacuated everyone to a secure location, an old warehouse on the edge of the territory that had been converted into emergency housing. It wasn't pretty, but it was safe. And right now, safe was all that mattered. "Drink," Clara commanded, shoving a glass into my hand. I took it automatically. The liquid burned going down, whiskey, strong enough to strip paint. "What is this?" "Victory," she said, raising her own glass. "We exposed the Council corruption. Killed the man behind it. Freed the compelled guards. This is what winning looks like." Around us, pack members were doing exactly that, celebrating. Someone had found music. Someone else had found more alcohol. The tension of the past weeks was releasing all at once. Xavier sat in the corner, his arm in a makeshift sling, looking exhausted but alive. Meridith was checking his wounds while he tried to wave her off. "He needs re
