"The last supper Jesus took before his crucifixion," Sera mumbled as she marveled at the famous painting by Da Vinci. She had always been an admirer of art; it was magic. Brushstrokes blurring the line between illusion and reality. The painting was so evocative, she could literally imagine it happening before her eyes. A moment frozen in time.

"Beautiful?" he murmured from behind, startling her. She nodded.

"Its fame is well-deserved," she said, gazing at the painting with nothing but warm admiration. Her own fingers had started to itch to paint. She hadn't painted in nine years.

"I can have this recreated for you back home," Nate offered, unconsciously stepping closer. The softness and awe in her eyes were stirring a warm, fuzzy feeling inside him. If not for it painted on the wall, he would have acquired it by any means, bought it, stolen it, whatever it took just to place it in her hand.

She looked over at him, "You can't recreate it.." After saying that, she looked back at the

  • His Innocent Sera   Bridging The Gap

Sera descended the stairs carefully. Climbing down stairs in a gown was not a cakewalk. One wrong move and you'll be rolling down the stairs like a barrel. Santiago and Freya entered the hall just as she reached the last step. Her brown locks cascaded down her shoulders in lush waves. Sera smiled, "You're looking stunning." "Thank you, sweetie," Freya said before looking up at her husband and saying, "See. This is how you compliment a woman." Santiago only stared down at her with no expression. "And you don't just look, you feel beautiful," Freya complimented Sera. Sera blushed before murmuring a quiet thank you."Where is Nate?" Freya then looked around for him. "I am here," Nate said as he clattered down the stairs. His gaze swept past the couple, only to rest on her. What began as indifference flickered into interest, then softened into unmistakable admiration. His eyes dipped briefly to her neckline, a quiet approval sparking when he found it in the place. He looked back up,

  • His Innocent Sera   Trial Room

Santiago had opened a new mall in Milan, and they were there to attend the opening.“This one?” Freya held up the gown, waiting for Sera’s reaction. Sera hesitated, and that was all the answer Freya needed. She returned it to the stack. They were currently browsing stores for the outfit Freya would wear at tomorrow’s launch."You look good in everything you wear," Sera told her as they entered another store. Freya chuckled as if remembering something and said, "It's his dialogue. Santiago says this every time I drag him from store to store." Sera smiled. She pictured her dragging him through the stores. It looked cute. They stepped into another store. Sera inhaled the cool, dewy fragrance of wealth, the gentle music wrapping the space in elegance. A saleswoman approached them with her practiced, friendly smile and enquired after the purpose of their visit. Then, with graceful ease, she guided them to the back, where the finest gowns were displayed. The women left to let them shop

  • His Innocent Sera   Impulsive

Sera had just entered the bathroom when the door opened again, revealing a man. She froze for a second before steadying herself and saying, “This is the ladies’ washroom.”"I know," the man said and stepped in. Sera frowned as he closed the door behind him. Alarm rang off in her head as she backed away a step."You shouldn't be inside," she told him, voice held a tinge of warning. "You're very pretty. Would you go on a date with me? I think I like you," the man proposed, moving closer, completely ignoring her discomfort. The awkward tilt of his posture hinted that something wasn’t quite right in his head. She had met him only a few minutes ago and even then she couldn't help but question his mental health. "Get out," she told him. "You're the first person who ever talked nice to me. I own a gre..." His words broke off as blood sputtered from his mouth, his head snapping violently to the side. Sera seize up, frozen in shock. Her wide yes drifted to Nate, who had once again worn that

  • His Innocent Sera   Grill and Smoke

Nate’s gaze swept over the crowd. Most were Mr. and Mrs. Alvarez’s acquaintances, with a few of his business partners scattered among them. His staff had joined as well, blending into the gathering in their finest attire. His eyes accidentally met those of one of the cleaning staff. The man stiffened, as if waiting for him to scold him for joining, but Nate just looked away. He could tell they were Sera's guests. His gaze finally found her. She stood quietly near a bush, almost hiding with Dyson. A smile shimmered on her glossy lips as she watched people enjoying their time. His angel was nervous. Nate grabbed a glass of juice and walked towards her. As he neared, her eyes gravitated towards him. He offered her the juice. She took the glass with a quiet thank you. Nate came to stand beside her, their silence shared as they watched the guests together. She cast him a sidelong look, wondering why he was aloof. He surely knew half the people here, so why was he lingering by her side i

  • His Innocent Sera   Not Easy

She watched as they fastened string lights overhead, giving an impression as if the sky was decked with jewels. The garden had long been swept clean, ready for the wave of decorations to follow. The staff had already wheeled out the barbecue grill sets, their gleaming surfaces looking almost too pristine to ever be used. She was told no party had ever taken place here, as Nate wasn't fond of them. It was the first time the estate was hosting a celebration, and even the staff were bursting with excitement. They were working enthusiastically to make it a memorable day for everyone. Even Sera was enjoying her work. To her surprise, it wasn’t as hard as she had imagined.“You really didn’t have to go to all this trouble," Freya’s voice came from behind, startling Sera. She spun around to find her standing there, smiling.Sera returned the smile as she stepped closer. “It isn’t me, it is Nate.”Freya frowned lightly. “That’s strange. Nate told me it was you.” "Well, it's his money and hi

  • His Innocent Sera   Taking Up House Responsibility

Sera handed Freya a cup of herbal tea before accompanying her on a quiet night walk. Gentle gusts of breeze, carrying the dewy scent of tuberose, drifted along the pavement as they headed toward the Moonlake garden."....I would sneak out of the orphanage at night, and Ara would have to cover for me...she has always been a sweetheart and I a troublemaker," Freya shared with a nostalgic smile on her face. How fast the time had flown. It felt just like yesterday, they were messing around in their orphanage. "Sounds like a perfect team to me," Sera replied, enjoying her childhood stories. "We are," Freya said softly. "I protected her from bullies, and she protected me from myself." A quiet ache stirred in Sera’s chest, a longing for a friendship like theirs bloomed in her heart. She had Hannah, but the girl was so much younger, and there were countless things she couldn’t confide in her. "She is very kind and loving," Sera agreed wholeheartedly. Honestly, she had received more warmth
