Chapter Sixty-Two: Drowning in Jealousy

Hawkins' POV

I wasn't in the mood to attend any party, but I couldn't turn down the invitation of Aunt Blythe, my father's older sister. My family was overly excited about having a new addition to the family and told my relatives about it, now they are bombarding my phone with congratulatory messages and expressing their desire to meet Miracle. Some of them are upset with me because they didn't even know I got married.

I didn't want to go anywhere with Miracle, but I guess I have no other choice. Knowing my relatives, they will show up on my doorstep to meet Miracle if I still refuse and I don't want them in my house.

When Miracle told me she would buy some things for our baby, I almost joined her. Almost. But then I chose to leave and go to work instead. Normal companies don't work on weekends, but technology companies are different. Sometimes, we even need to work 24/7 when we're working on a hard project. As a boss, you'd think I will leave

Chapter Sixty-Four: Running Away with His Child Miracle's POVWhen Mark cheated on me, I realized that my ego was more hurt than my heart. Maybe because I've already seen it coming, and maybe because my love slowly faded. It was easy for me to forget about him and move on. But when I saw Hawk kissing another woman before my eyes, with me under the same roof as him, my heart broke into a million pieces. My heart shattered along with the sauce plate where the cake I devoured was. It felt like I was stabbed repeatedly and I couldn't breathe. My chest constricted and tears poured from my eyes. "Oops, so the rumor is true." The woman nonchalantly said, as if she didn't kiss a rumored married man in his house where his wife could be. Shameless is what I can describe her. She doesn't even look apologetic. If anything, she looked smug and proud of what she did. "I'm leaving, boss. See you tomorrow." The shameless woman said, sending me a malicious look before provoking me even further wh

I thought Miracle would avoid me again but she surprised me when she prepared my favorite breakfast, served me and even picked my clothes. Chapter Sixty-Six: The Truth Within Hawkins' POVThree days. Three freaking days. It's been three days since Miracle left and there was no trace or sign of her anywhere. It was like the world conspired to hide her from her. The bus she transferred to was found, but she transferred a lot of times to escape the cameras. She intentionally did it, and it only showed how much she wanted to get away from me. She never turned her phone on again so they couldn't trace the number, and when I called it again, her number was no longer available. I reached out for the highest and most powerful people I know that can help me, but in the end, they still couldn't find her. She was last seen riding a taxi, and when they interrogated the driver, it was just my luck that he had no record of where he took her. I got desperate as time went by, wondering what or how they were doing. It's not that I don't trust her to take care of herself and our child, but the world we live in is cruel. Hah. How ironi

Miracle's POV "Let's get married." "What? Are you crazy?!" I exclaimed with a laugh when Mark, my boyfriend of two years, suddenly showed up in front of our house. "I'm serious! Don't you want to see how it will end? The future is uncertain, Miracle. We could die tomorrow so let's not live with regret." He said, trying to catch his breath and I realized how serious he was. "B-But I'm only turning thirty and I haven't achieved my dream, Mark. I—" "Do you want to or not? Because it's you I want to spend the rest of my life with, Miracle. I promise I will give you everything and you don't have to work anymore! Give up your dream and be with me!" He continued to shake me and I couldn't stop laughing. "Okay! I will marry you!" I finally gave in and he screamed in happiness before lifting me off the ground, our lips meeting in a kiss. I blinked and tilted my head to get rid of the sudden memory five years ago, not feeling the happiness I felt that moment and only feeling n

Miracle's POV "You're so sexy, so responsive, baby. Mira never moaned like you. She was always so frigid it's like I'm fūcking a robot." Mark moaned loudly, and wrecked my heart with his comment. "It might be because she's old and she can't do the positions I can, darling." Blair responded with a giggle that sounded like a grinder in my ear. My heart shattered into tiny little pieces I have to pick up with tweezers, but I was surprised by how quickly I composed myself. I opened the door and went to the closet to get my clothes and get changed. "Mira?!" Mark exclaimed in shock and I can hear them scrambling to get away from each other. "Oh, don't mind me. I'll just get some of my clothes and stay in the guest room. The bed is soiled so I'd hate to sleep on it." I said dismissively and packed a small bag, throwing the things I'd need and stopped my hands from shaking. I heard Mark scoffing in disbelief. "Look how she became a shell of herself. She just found out I'm having an

Hawkins's POV "Should I park, sir?" Jim, my driver, asked me when I got out of the car. "No need. I will be out in a few minutes and we'll have to go to Manhattan right away." I told him with a smile and walked my way inside Samsoon for a business offer. "Good morning, sir. How may I help you today?" A blonde woman with a friendly smile asked me when I approached the reception. "Yes, I am here for my appointment with Mr. Soon. I am from Pride Tech." Hearing the name, the woman instantly checked her boss' schedule and allowed me entry. I was escorted by one of their employees who opened the electric doors using their card keys and I can say that I am impressed with their technology. Judging by the design, I can guess that it was Lee Tech, the number one leading technology company, who built it. Pride Tech is still a long way considering I only built it five years ago, but we already made it to the list next to them. Three more years and I am confident that we can surpass them. No

"It's my aunt's birthday and she wants to meet you so don't think for a second that I want to be with you." He added coldly and placed a black card on the counter. "Buy whatever or do anything to look decent. I doubt you have a gown in your closet."I swallowed thickly, glancing from the card and back to him. "Can I buy some things for the baby?" I asked in hesitation and waited for his answer. "Do whatever you want. Joy will take you to the place later." He answered, not bothering to look at me and left without saying goodbye. I sighed softly, taking the card and putting it in my pocket. My eyes shifted to Teddy who was looking at me with his puppy eyes. "Okay, I'll buy you a new toy as well." I've only been with them for almost two months, but I believe we have formed a bond between us or at least from my part. They might forget me after a week or so, but I will never forget them, like I held my former students in my heart. My heart feels heavy but I knew I had to do it. The next day, I arrived at school, not to teach, but to say my goodbye. Caroline's office was the first I visited and as expected, she was incredibly sad with the news. "You brought colors to this school, and you were our miracle, Mira. But I understand that your health and your baby's are your priority. I'm not accepting this, you can always come back after you give birth. I mean, you technically own this school." Caroline said, putting my resignation in one of her drawers and pulling me in a hug. My hands instantly flew to my stomach, tears gathering in my eyes. "Oh God, no." I whimpered, hugging my stomach protectively. "Please no."The door opened and Caroline entered. She rushed to me when she saw me awake and worry filled her face when she saw me crying. "Miracle! What's wrong? Are you hurt somewhere?""B-Baby, what happened to my baby?" I sobbed, not removing my hands around my stomach and looking desperately at my friend. Caroline sighed in relief and smiled at me, reaching out to rub my shoulder.
