The Club

Lucas didn’t say much as we drove to the club, I had thought about talking to him about the apartment on the way but decided against it. He had placed his free hand on my left thigh and my heart about stopped. I knew he was aware of the way he was affecting me just by the smirk he had on his face.

A valet met us out front and took his car, Lucas held out his arm letting me take it as we walked into his club. I felt eyes on us the minute we walked inside. Looking up at Lucas I saw he was unfazed. I’m sure he was used to all the attention.

A man walked up to us and started talking to Lucas low enough I couldn’t make out what he was saying. Lucas nodded guiding me to the stairs that lead up to the VIP section. I had to resist the urge to tug at my dress as we walked up the stairs. The guy Lucas had been talking to he had introduced as David.

Once upstairs several people greeted Lucas, most calling him by his last name. I seemed to draw lots of attention and it was making me want to turn and flee. Lucas lead us to a table and waited until I was seated before he sat beside me. A lady walked up to us holding a tray, “scotch for Mr. Blake and for you?”

I looked up at her not knowing what to say so I said the first drink I saw on her tray, “apple martini.” She nodded handing it over, before excusing herself.

Lucas’s hand moved from my knee up to my thigh causing me to shiver but want to slap his hand at the same time. He looked over at me with a satisfied smirk but turned his gaze back to the group of men sitting across from us. “What’s the word?" he asked.

David who had sat beside the other men shook his head, “everything is quiet tonight.” I looked around taking the club in trying to not get distracted by the way his hand was running up and down my thigh. I didn’t know how such a small touch could make me so hot.

The guys were still talking but I didn’t really focus on them. I felt a little out of place and almost as if I was on display. I frowned as the thought hit me. Was I here for his amusement? I let out a small sigh as my mind went back to all those 90s movies where they dared the guy to take out the ugly plain girl.

“Where are you at?” I looked up to see Lucas leaning down talking to me.

I shook my head, “nowhere, just taking everything in.”

He looked at me and I knew he didn’t believe me but he didn’t question it as he took a sip of his scotch. I reached out for my own drink letting the smooth taste slide down. I wasn’t much of a drinker, didn’t like the taste but tonight I needed it for my nerves.

Time seemed to have no concept so I was surprised when I grabbed Lucas’s arm to see his watch that it was well past midnight. I had to work in the morning and he had me out at a club.

He looked down at me as I let his arm go, “you ok?”

I nodded not wanting to really say anything in front of a group of people. “Yeah, can you show me where the bathroom is?”

Nodding he stood up reaching down for my hand, “I’ll take you upstairs where it’s more private.”

He led me upstairs to his office which was at the top of the club and looked out over both the VIP section and the dance floor. Walking through the glass doors I looked around, “wow, you really do good for yourself here don’t you?”

Lucas shrugged as he walked pushing a door open and turning the lights on, “I don’t do too bad.”

I walked into the bathroom glad to be able to shut him out for a minute. I did have to pee and as I sat down I began thinking of ways to bring up my rent. There was no way to beat around it, I would just have to go in. When I was done I flushed the toilet and washed my hands drying them off before walking out. Lucas was leaned up against the far wall watching the commotion that lay downstairs.

Walking upon him I took a deep breath, “can we talk for a second?”

He looked down at me, “what do you want to discuss Taylor?”

Looking down I tried to find my words and I knew I would just have to spit it out. “I know how much you’re paying for my apartment and I can’t afford that Lucas.”

He arched his brow, “I don’t remember asking you too.”

I sighed, “Lucas I appreciate this all, but I won't be able to keep this up after you are done doing whatever it is you are doing.”

Lucas reached down pulling my chin up and for a second I thought he would kiss me but he leaned down, “I make the decisions around here Taylor, if I say not to worry about it then stop fucking worrying about it. Do you understand?”

I nodded looking away from him but his grip on my face tightened, “I didn’t hear you.”

My eyes connected with his as the pressure in his grip was becoming uncomfortable, “yes Lucas I understand.”

He dropped my jaw, “this is the last time we are talking about this, understood?”

I took a step back from him not liking this new side of him, he looked down at me and I nodded quickly, “I understand.”

The rest of the night seemed to drag after our conversation. After we had returned downstairs Lucas had gone back to talking to his friends. I debated about pulling my phone out and playing a game or checking my email, anything to keep myself entertained. Looking down at Lucas's hand on my thigh I couldn't help but see it now as controlling, maybe even possessive. It was his way of letting everyone know that I was with him. You could see an air of authority around him that I had missed before. The men sitting around us looked at him as some type of leader.

Looking up at Lucas I felt that there was so much more that I didn't know about him. Glancing down Lucas noticed my attention on him, he moved his hand from my knee to place it around my waist pulling me closer to him. Leaning down he placed his lips beside my ear, "you ready to go?" I nodded at him relieved. I had no clue what time it was and I dreaded having to get up early for work.

Lucas removed his arm from around me and sat up. The men around us all looked at him as he spoke telling them that he was leaving and would see them in the morning. Standing up he offered me his hand to help me up. I had never been so ready to leave in my entire life. Clubbing just wasn't something I had ever been into. The club was in full swing and I wondered how just how late it stayed open.

Lucas's car was waiting on us outside. He opened the door for me waiting until I got in before he shut it and walked to the drivers' side. Looking at the dash I saw that it was almost 3. Shaking my head I looked over at him, “what time does the club close?”

Lucas looked over at me as he pulled off, “No one else can come in after 3 but we don’t start kicking people out till 5.”

I frowned seeing him turn the opposite way from my apartment. “Where are we going?”

His hand moved to my thigh, “my house.”

Grabbing his hand that was creeping up my leg I looked over at him, “Did you forget I have to go to work in the morning?”

Lucas cut his eyes at me “Jack knows you won't be in.”

I frowned, “he what? How the hell does he know that? You can’t just call and make decisions for me.”

Lucas gripped the steering wheel, “I can and I will. If you haven’t figured things out yet I run everything around you right now.”

Letting out a sarcastic laugh I crossed my arms, “fuck you, Lucas.”

He looked over at me giving me a smirk, “you’ve already done that Taylor remember?”

I cut my eyes up at him not believing what he was saying. He sighed shaking his head, “look we will talk at the house ok.”

Before I could respond he pulled up to a gate and as he hit a button on his visor my mouth dropped, “this...you live here?”

Lucas didn’t respond, it was dark but I could still see the house was huge. Who the hell was Lucas? As the garage door lifted I couldn’t help but notice the car that was parked inside was even nicer than the one we were in.

Getting out of the car I followed Lucas to the door watching him quickly type in a code before he opened it up allowing me to enter ahead of him. I was still pissed at him but I let him lead me to his kitchen. Lucas's kitchen could have been in a magazine. Marble, dark stained wood, and high ceilings. "Your kitchen is amazing," I said.

Lucas shrugged looking unimpressed with it all, “it’s alright.”

I frowned looking over at him, “Look Lucas I don't want to fight but...”

He walked up on me pulling me to him, “No one is fighting but you Taylor.”

I looked down, “you can’t control everything.”

Lucas pulled my chin up skimming my lips with his own, “that’s where you are wrong.”

Shaking my head I sighed looking up at him, “come on Lucas. I mean do you think because you are paying for my apartment that you can run me?”

Lucas's fingers tightened on my chin, “Taylor I have very little patience. Am I asking too much from you?”

Releasing his grip he moved his hands down pulling me up to him. Lucas scared me, part of me knew I should run the other way screaming. Instead, I laid my head on his chest sighing, "I don't like this side of you"

Lucas sighed looking down caressing my face with his hand, “it’s who I am Taylor. I expect things to run a certain way. You can either accept it or not.” Shaking my head I let him pull me back in his arms, “no more fighting,” he whispered, “not tonight. I brought you home to fuck you not argue with you.”
