ELEANOR’S POV

“Are you sure you are making the right choice?” Damon asked for the thirtieth time in the last hour and now I was no longer sure if I was.

“Do you think I’m not?” I threw at him, wanting to know what his own opinion would be.

“He abandoned you, El. He can do that anytime and you know that.” He pointed out while I stared at the darkness.

Let me be your eyes, El.

Cruz’s words replayed in my mind.

“What if he is sorry? Sober? Anything?” I said, trying to defend him or was it myself?

I needed badly to prove to myself that I wasn’t just some broken female who lacked fatherly love and badly craved it enough to settle for anything.

“What if he is not?” Damon attacked and I could sense the worry in his voice, laced with disappointment. “You can’t just run back into his arms, El. Not after all these while.” He added causing me to nod as I bit on my lower lip again.

“I can. I want to do this, Dam, please.” I responded and heard him sigh frustratedly before his steps get closer.
