Kenzie's POV*1 week later.*Alex gave birth and she didn't tell me. I have to hear from Aiden that they apparently didn't want to disrupt our time. What even is that?!I missed my potential future bestfriend's birthday. Aiden missed the birth of his baby sister and I feel like crap about it. School just let out and I'm walking to the Alpha's house to meet the little bug. Her name is Nova and from the pictures Aiden showed me, she is just precious.Last week was...eventful. I know exactly what I did and how I acted. It's embarrassing yet reassuring to know that he won't run away even in my semi-horrible moments.I come to the door of the beautiful home and knock. Alex opens up shortly after with a guilty look on her face. "Kenzie, honey. How are you." She says sheepishly and I cross my arms. "I want to see my baby. I'm mad at you." I tell her and she sighs moving aside to let me in. I follow her up the stairs and into a baby pink room with a black crib and a huge teddy bear in the
Kenzie's POV"Your dealer?" He asks slowly. I look down, nodding slowly."You do drugs?" He asks but I don't hear any judgment in his tone. I nod, refusing to look at him. "Mackenzie... I- why?" He asks softly. His fingers go underneath my chin and he lifts my face a little. I look at him as tears spring to my eyes."It keeps the nightmares away." I say softly and he sighs, pulling me into his chest. I refuse to let myself cry but it doesn't work as tears run down my cheeks. "I'm sorry." He whispers into my hair. "I stopped smoking after we went swimming. It was hurting Aria." I tell him in a small voice. "It's okay, baby. Have you had any nightmares since then?" He asks and I nod. "In the week." I say. "After you left." I add softly and he hugs me tighter. My hands grip the back of his shirt like my life depends on it."Goddess, Mackenzie. Why didn't you tell me?" He asks and I look up at him. "I didn't want to annoy you with it." I tell him and he sighs. His thumb gently wipes
Aiden's POVI'm walking to class when I see Mackenzie running towards me. She stops just as she's about to collide with me. "Hey, what's going on?" I asks and just smiles."I need to show you something." She beams and I smiles raising. She grabs my hand and pulls me down the hallway. We enter the science lab and we go to the back of the room. She stops in front of a row of flower pots with colourful flowers sticking out from them. "This is nice." I tell her still not knowing what's going on."Look." She says pointing to a pot with her name on it. There is a little green stem that's growing. Her pot is the only one that doesn't have flowers. I frown and look at her. "No. It's nothing to be sad about. Mr. Mikkel told us to make our own compost to see if we can actually grow something from it. I failed many times but this formula actually worked and now my flower is growing!" She says happily and I smile at her. She is glowing and I can't help but to pick her up and spin her around.
Aiden's POV *2 IN A ROW SON!*We walk into the house and the first thing that hits me is the smell of my favourite dish ever. Chicken Alfredo. "Mom, I love you!" I yell as Mackenzie laughs next to me. I hurry into the kitchen and see my mom dancing in front of the stove. "I love you too." She says as she switches of the burners. She puts everything into serving bowls before placing it on the table. I serve myself some before Mackenzie does the same. "This is heaven." I groan and Mackenzie blushes. I wink at her and she looks away. She's been quieter after what happened in the kitchen earlier and I know she's thinking about it. Hell, I've been thinking about it too, how warm she felt."Aiden." Mom calls and I look at her. "You're drooling." She says and my hand goes to my mouth. It's dry and I give her a deadpan look while they both laugh. The twins sit down and eat lunch with us. We finish and Mackenzie helps move clean in while I watch her butt move with every step. She turns a
Kenzie's POVIt's been four weeks since we got the talk from Alpha and Luna, three since Aiden moved into the pack house, two since Aiden and I argued over some petty bullshit. It's also been two weeks since I've seen Aiden.Yes, he went AWOL and hasn't been answering my calls or messages. I have been worrying but I know he's safe because Alex told me that him and Alpha Mason left to attend the Alphas' conference. It's an event whereby Alpha's gather to speak about alliances and merging. I know for a fact that we are not merging with anybody. With Alpha Mason being king and Aiden being next in line, they had to attend. He didn't tell me anything because he left really early. "And he's pissed at you." Aria speaks, being petty over the fact that I was kinda the reason we argued.I don't know why the hell he isn't replying to me but I fucking miss my mate. "Mackenzie!" I hear my name being called. My head snaps to the voice only to see Harold, seething with anger. "What?" I ask and h
Kenzie's POVWe walk into the pack house and I go up the stairs while Aiden walks into the kitchen. I don't want to talk about anything right now but it has to be done. I walk into my room and take a quick shower. I comb through my tangled wet hair and walk out after blow drying it. Aiden is sitting on my bed with his arms resting on his thighs. I walk over to sit next to him. "I'm sorry about what I said before you left. It was selfish of me to say that after we had the whole conversation." I tell him. We had a petty fight and I told him that I didn't want a mate in the first place. It wasn't a lie but I have a change of heart now."You were mad and I was mad. It's okay, babe. I'm sorry for ignoring you the whole time." He says grabbing my hand and kissing it. I smile at him before pecking his lips. "What happened today?" He asks and I play with my fingers. "First promise me that you won't do anything irrational." I say and he nods. "Say it, Aiden." I tell him and he rolls hi
Mackenzie's POV"Get up, Aiden." I whine pulling his arm. "I'm tired, baby." He groans, still not opening his eyes. "You slept the whole day away. Get up, please." I beg, laying down ontop of him. "Shhh Kenzie." He says throwing his hand over his face. "You're making me sad." I mumble against his bare chest and he chuckles. "Would a kiss cheer you up?" He asks and I nod. He holds my head, placing his lips on mine. I moan into the kiss and he smiles against my lips. I sit up, straddling him. "Now get up and let's get food. I'm hungry." I tell him and he sighs. "Fine." I squeal bouncing up and down. He groans, gripping my hips lightly. "Babe, stop." He says and I stop immediately. "Did I hurt you? I'm sorry." I say quickly getting off of him. "No. You didn't hurt me." He says and I look down only to blush. "Oh. Sorry." I says and he chuckles. He takes a quick shower before walking out clad in a towel only. I stare at his toned, tattooed chest. The water droplets roll down, chas
Aiden's POVIt's Monday morning and I'm getting ready to head to school. Mackenzie hasn't spoken to me since our fight on Saturday. She's been avoiding me at all costs. No replies when I text, no picking up when I call, walking away when I approach her.I've been missing my mate so much that I couldn't sleep at all. I deserve it though. I should have told her what Jasmine has been doing. I should have stopped it before it even started. Now I'm left with getting my mate to forgive me, telling Jasmine off and beating the shit out of Trevor. I have been keeping my anger under wraps, not wanting to scare Kenzie but I can't just let him get away with putting his hands on my mate. His future Luna. He's supposed to be my friend and he's supposed to keep her safe when I'm not around yet he's the one inflicting the pain. I know that I've promised Mackenzie that I wouldn't do anything but this needs to be handled. What kind of man am I if I don't protect my woman. He isn't supposed to be pu
