Chapter:4

Aiden's POV

"Yes mom. I miss you too." I say smiling. I really miss my family, my pack. I have been gone for seven months and my mom is close to giving birth. I hope that when she sees what I've done, she won't go into labour early.

"But you're coming home on Monday, right?" She asks sounding excited. "No." I say and she whines.

"Why not. You said you would, Aiden." She says and I can hear her sniffling. "I'm coming home today mom." I say and gasps.

"Really! Oh my goodness. Mason!" She screams and I have to hold my phone away from my ear. I hear dad ask what's wrong and she tells him.

"He's coming home today." She says and I hear him laugh. "Are you playing with my pregnant wife's feelings, boy?" He asks and I chuckle.

"No dad. I finished all my needed training earlier then the rest, so I can go home earlier." I say picking the bag up and setting it by the bedroom door.

"Spoken like a true King. I'm proud of you, bud." He says and I feel good about making him proud.

"Thanks dad. I've got to go though. See you guys soon. Love you guys." I say and hang up.

I pick my bags up and walk out of the hostel that all the trainee alpha's stayed in. We would rarely even sleep here because we would be out learning how to survive and fight.

"Thanks guys. Y'all have been good company and even better friends." I say bro hugging all the guys.

"We won't miss your competitive ass. That's for sure." Nate says and I laugh.

"That is the alpha king in him." Our instructor, Dwight says. I turn to him and we all bow slightly.

You would think that a bunch of alpha's would be too prideful to bow to anybody but we don't let our egos get in the way of showing respect to the elders.

My great-grandfather, Phillip was the one to come up with the rule of giving respect where it's due, no matter your ranking.

Dwight was his instructor as well. He is The Wise One. Sent by the moon goddess herself to put Alpha's on the right path. He has been training and moulding Alpha's for more than a century now.

Pretty old, yet he doesn't look the part. He looks to be in his mid forties.

"I bid you farewell with only good wishes son. May you be blessed on your leadership journey." He says and I smile at him before hugging his.

I wave at them before driving off. It's two o'clock now so I should be there by three or four.

The drive is boring and I don't like listening to music. I stop for gas and snacks before going back on the road.

I finally get onto our packs territory and I feel the connection with my family grow stronger.

I shifted during training which means that I can communicate with them through mindlink. Once I get the Alpha title, I will be able to communicate with the rest of the pack as well as other Alphas and Lunas.

The only thing I can't wait for is finding my mate. Now that I've shifted, I could start looking for her. She can be anywhere, in other packs, my pack or even on the human lands. That's where my dad found my mom.

I will love my mate whether she's human or werewolf or anything else.

I stop the over thinking when I pull up in front of my parents house. How I've missed this place.

I see my heavily pregnant mother rush out the front door as I get out of my car. "My baby!!" She squeals and jumps into my arms.

I catch her, trying to keep her from hurting herself or the baby. "I missed you too, mom but you have to be careful." I scold her lightly.

"Agh. You sound just like your father." She says rolling her eyes. I chuckle at the short woman in front of me.

"I heard that." I hear my dad say as he comes out of the house.

She wraps her arms around my waist and I kiss her hair. "I missed you, dude." She says and I bust out laughing.

"Hey dad." I say bro hugging him after letting go of my mom. "Hey buddy." He says, patting my back.

We move back and I get my bags out. He helps me carry then in and my mom immediately tries to steal them away to wash the dirt covered clothes.

I laugh at the woman's antics and she sticks her tongue out at me. "How have you guys been?" I ask and dad shrugs. "We have been good. The twins have missed you alot and were constantly in your room." He says with a smirk.

Those little shits.

"Is that so. I hope they were smart enough to put my stuff back." I say and dad laughs.

"How was training?" He asks and I tell him everything. "I'm sorry we couldn't be there for your first shift." He says and I can see the guilt in his eyes.

"It's okay dad. You wouldn't have wanted to be there anyway. I almost fought one of the other Alphas." I tell him and we both laugh.

"The pain was horrible, right?" He asks and I nod. "It's okay, though. Mr. Dwight was there to talk me through it." I say and he nods.

"I have to show you something, Dad." I say and he raises his brows at me.

"You have to promise to not get mad though." I say and he only raises on brow though.

I take a deep breath and lift the sleeve to my turtleneck, exposing the tattoos on my arms. He just stares for a few seconds and looks at me and smiles. "That isn't so bad." He says and chuckles, drinking his water.

I take a huge breath this time and take the whole turtleneck off. "Oh my goddess." He mumbles as he stares at my tattoo covered body. My arms neck and chest are adorned by the ink.

"What the hell, Aiden?! What were you thinking?" He yells and I can see just how angry he is.

"I turned eighteen five months ago and I decided to start getting the work done." I say sheepishly and he sighs. "It doesn't matter what age you are, son. Why wouldn't you tell us?" He asks rubbing his forehead.

"It's not that big of a deal." I say and he stares at me as if I just said the dumbest thing in the world.

"Do you know what your mother will do? She will kill both of us. She might just have a freaking heart attack when she sees this." He says and now I'm actually scared. That little lady in there can strike fear into anybody when she feels like it. Even my dad.

"Well when you out it like that." I say fiddling with my tattooed fingers.

Just then we hear foot steps and we scurry to get my turtleneck on. It's too late though. We are dead.

"I heard yel-- what the fuck!?" My mom yells and I hide behind my dad with one arm in the sweater and half of my head through the hole.

"Aiden Joshua King! What the hell have you done to your body?" She asks walking over to me. We both flinch back and she glares at us.

"Come here." She says with her hands on her hips. "I'm sorry, mom." I say immediately.

"You are going to be." She say sliding her shoe off but can't pick it up. I try not to laugh as she struggles.

"You should be thankful." She say and pinches my arm. "When did you even have time for this?" She asks putting a hand in her forehead.

"I have my ways." I say smugly and she gives me a pointed look.

"This is the last time you pull a stunt like this. Do you hear me, boy?" She say and I nod. "Yes ma'am." I say and she hugs me.

"Well I'm happy you had a good time. You're going to have to show us your wolf when the twins get here. Which should be any minute now." My dad says and as if on que, the door open and they walk in with Jasmine, Jacob and uncle Danny.

"Woah. Sick ink dude." Jacob says and walks over to me. "What's up man." I says bro hugging him. I put my sweater on and hug Jasmine.

"How have you guys been?" I ask and we catch up. I had to threaten the guilty looking twins about being in my room. All in good fun though. Maybe.

I get showered and dressed before we all leave for the pack house. We decide to walk and Jasmine has been talking to me the whole time but I just wasn't interested. I don't know what changed 'cause I've always liked her but something changed.

I'm hit with this intense smell that I totally blank everybody out and try to find out from which direction it's coming. It disappears just as fast as I caught it.

We walk into the pack house and everybody was in the living room waiting. "Hey guys." I say and they all clap and greet me. Some just smile and analyse my tattoos.

"Welcome back." They say and I smile. Damn, it's really nice to be home.

"Aiden honey, can you please run home to go and get my phone. I forgot it." Mom asks and I nod, taking Jake with me.

"Everybody missed you bro." He says and I smirked. "You mean you missed me." I say and push him.

"Not even bro. I've been too busy to even think about you." He says and we bust out laughing. We get to the house, get the phone and jog back.

I enter the house and hold the phone up. "Mom, we got it." I say and the smell from earlier hits me instantly.

I look around and my eyes land on some bright green ones. "Mate!" Zeus, my wolf chants in my head. Her eyes widen and she looks away.

Zeus' mood immediately changes when he see her on Derek's back. His hands on her thighs.

I keep myself from making a scene infront of everybody. It takes a whole lot of self-control, let me tell you that.

"Mackenzie." I say, a greeting and a warning. She hops off and fixes the oversized shirt. "We should burn that. It's probably his." Zeus sneers in my head. I push him back as she speaks.

"Alpha." They both say bowing slightly. Why is she doing this. Acting as if she doesn't know. She's my mate.

"Derek." I nod in acknowledgment. "Good to see that you are back. Nice ink." He says awkwardly.

"Good to see you both." I say keeping my eyes on Mackenzie. We have known one another since childhood days but we were never really close.

Oh how I regret not trying to get to know her better. She's grown up to be so beautiful and sexy.

"Excuse us, please." She says and grabs Derek's hand, running up the stairs. I growl lowly at the contact that they are making and I feel eyes on me. I try to cover it with a cough and smile at everybody.

My dad give me a smirk and speaks. "Food anybody?" He says and everybody agrees before walking to the kitchen.

I fight the strong urge to go up those stairs and just claim those beautifully pink lips.

Patience Aiden, patience.
