Aiden's POV"That was uncalled for, Dad! She is my mate and you can't speak to her like that. You can't speak to anybody like that." I yell as he sits in his chair with his head in his hands. "I have told her countless times to not go out by herself at night. To not go around school vandalizing the building, not to be a bad example but she doesn't listen." He says and this only makes me madder."What it sounds like to me is that you want her to roll over every time you say something. News flash, Dad. She is a teenagers. She's going to break rules. She's not always going to listen. For goddess sake, she lost her whole family. Did you not think that she was going to rebel at some point?" I ask and he sighs. "I know I was hard on her but I just want her to be safe. I don't want her to get hurt or worse." He say and mom sighs pushing his hair back."And you just couldn't have done that without embarrassing her in front of everybody or making her cry?" I ask and mom steps up. "Both of y
Kenzie's POVI'm busy packing my stuff up to move to Alpha and Luna's house. I don't want to move. The only upside to this is that I will be closer to my mate and I will spend more time with the twins. I zip up my suitcase just as a knock sounds on the door. "Come in I say." The person does and their scent makes me tense up. "Good morning, Kenzie." He says and I slowly turn around, not making eye contact. "Good morning, Alpha." I say bowing slightly. I feel the hair on the back of my neck stand up. I feel like pissing myself right now, that's how much this guys scares me. "Kenzie. I came to apologize about last night. I was way too harsh on you. You don't need to move in with us if you don't want to. I was just worried about you." He says and I look up at him before looking back down. "I can stay here?" I ask and he nods. "Yes." He says and I smile slightly. "Thank you, Alpha." I say and he chuckles. "Call me Mason. You are my daughter-in-law." He says and my cheeks heat up at t
Kenzie's POVI wake up from the best sleep that I've ever had to my alarm sounding next to me. A small moan escapes me and I squeeze the pillow tighter. I stop when I feel the pillow's heartbeat."Pillows don't have heart beats, dummy. That's our mate." Aria says excitedly and I slowly open my eyes. Sure enough, Aiden is laying next to me with his arm under my neck and my arm and leg over him. I smile slightly and take him in. His face is turned away from me so I can't admire him fully like a total psycho. I try to get up but he only pulls me in tighter, taking a deep breath in. "Morning." He says and I melt at his deep voice. "Good morning." I say in a small voice. "We have school." I say and he hums. "Let's skip." He mumbles and pulls me onto of him. "I can't skip school. Your dad will have my ass." I say laying my head against his chest. "No he won't. Go back to sleep." He says and I sigh. I won't be able to. I just lay there for a few more minutes, tracing the patterns on h
Kenzie's POVThe week flew by fast and it's already Saturday. My nervous are everywhere and I don't know why.I fix the pesky string of hair that just won't cooperate. "Damnit!" I shout and stomp my foot. First I burn my shirt, then I stub my pinky toe and now the fucking hair won't go were I want it to. "Are you okay?" The very familiar voice asks and I breath in his intoxicating scent. I instantly relax and turn around with around to look at my handsome mate. "Hi. Yeah. I'm fine." I tell him and he smiles. He walks further into the room and hands me a single pink rose. A blush rises on my cheeks as I take the rose from him. We--I have been making progress this week. I've gotten comfortable with holding hands at school and kissing in my room--not that we kissed alot this week, only twice. I'm still learning though and he understands. "I got it from my mom's garden. She threw a shoe at me." He says and I laugh. "Already risking your life for me." I state and he nods. "Are you re
Aiden's POVI lay awake, watching Mackenzie as she sleeps. From what I have been told, your mate will be snuggled up to you when you wake up but no, Mackenzie has other plans. Her head is near the edge of the bed and her one leg is bent up. I laugh as she lets out a loud snore. I can't believe I actually got that on camera. Her eyes open and she looks at, holding my phone. "Good morning baby." I say softly and as if it just registered in her mind, she lunges at me for my phone. I end the video and lock my phone. "Aiden! Delete it, please." She whines and I shake my head. "Nope." She pouts and tears up a bit causing me to drop my hand. "Mackenzie, it's just a video." I say pulling her towards me by her hand. She starts sobbing and I sit there, confused as hell. "I look ugly." She sobs and I pull her away from my chest. "No you don't. You always look beautiful. Please don't cry baby." I tell her truthfully. "You're just lying to me." She says and sobs even harder. She gets up and
Kenzie's POV*1 week later.*Alex gave birth and she didn't tell me. I have to hear from Aiden that they apparently didn't want to disrupt our time. What even is that?!I missed my potential future bestfriend's birthday. Aiden missed the birth of his baby sister and I feel like crap about it. School just let out and I'm walking to the Alpha's house to meet the little bug. Her name is Nova and from the pictures Aiden showed me, she is just precious.Last week was...eventful. I know exactly what I did and how I acted. It's embarrassing yet reassuring to know that he won't run away even in my semi-horrible moments.I come to the door of the beautiful home and knock. Alex opens up shortly after with a guilty look on her face. "Kenzie, honey. How are you." She says sheepishly and I cross my arms. "I want to see my baby. I'm mad at you." I tell her and she sighs moving aside to let me in. I follow her up the stairs and into a baby pink room with a black crib and a huge teddy bear in the
Kenzie's POV"Your dealer?" He asks slowly. I look down, nodding slowly."You do drugs?" He asks but I don't hear any judgment in his tone. I nod, refusing to look at him. "Mackenzie... I- why?" He asks softly. His fingers go underneath my chin and he lifts my face a little. I look at him as tears spring to my eyes."It keeps the nightmares away." I say softly and he sighs, pulling me into his chest. I refuse to let myself cry but it doesn't work as tears run down my cheeks. "I'm sorry." He whispers into my hair. "I stopped smoking after we went swimming. It was hurting Aria." I tell him in a small voice. "It's okay, baby. Have you had any nightmares since then?" He asks and I nod. "In the week." I say. "After you left." I add softly and he hugs me tighter. My hands grip the back of his shirt like my life depends on it."Goddess, Mackenzie. Why didn't you tell me?" He asks and I look up at him. "I didn't want to annoy you with it." I tell him and he sighs. His thumb gently wipes
Aiden's POVI'm walking to class when I see Mackenzie running towards me. She stops just as she's about to collide with me. "Hey, what's going on?" I asks and just smiles."I need to show you something." She beams and I smiles raising. She grabs my hand and pulls me down the hallway. We enter the science lab and we go to the back of the room. She stops in front of a row of flower pots with colourful flowers sticking out from them. "This is nice." I tell her still not knowing what's going on."Look." She says pointing to a pot with her name on it. There is a little green stem that's growing. Her pot is the only one that doesn't have flowers. I frown and look at her. "No. It's nothing to be sad about. Mr. Mikkel told us to make our own compost to see if we can actually grow something from it. I failed many times but this formula actually worked and now my flower is growing!" She says happily and I smile at her. She is glowing and I can't help but to pick her up and spin her around.
