LOGINBefore she could go deeper into her sleep, her phone began ringing.
She sprung up immediately, looking at her surrounding. Then it dawned on her, the pregnancy was taking it course on her now. If she wasn't careful, many people would find out soon. She stood up, she must remain strong now. This was a crucial moment of her life and she must try hard to not let it weigh down on her. She picked up the call immediately. "Lar.." She muttered, her voice husky, she cleared her throat. "Ivy where are you?" Larisa asked, concern in her voice. "I'm coming now.." She muttered arranging herself to leave. She put her hair together and then she was ready. She swiftly came out of Ryder's office and dashed off in large stride. As soon as she got into her office, Larisa followed her up. Everyone had seen Sheila when she got into the company earlier, and that had been the talk of the office. Larisa had been looking for Ivy but had no idea where she had gone. "Lar.." Ivy called as she entered. Larisa saying no other words, engulfed her in a hug. "I'm so sorry for what's going on Ivy, I mean why is Ryder letting her come here and why are the both going around as if they are still together?" Larisa lamented, she was seething with anger. "Where have you been?" Larisa asked, her eyes on Ivy. "Was at Ryder's office." Larisa's forehead creased, "You mean Sheila met you there?" Ivy nodded. This added more to her confusion. "If she met you there busy with your husband, why did they left together?" Larisa questioned. "Lar I don't know what has come over Ryder, he didn't even bother to tell me where they were going, she stays at the front while he walked behind her, leaving me there as if I was nothing." Ivy muttered, her voice shaky, she didn't know she was this pained until she said it out. "I'm truly sorry Ivy, what are you going to do now?." Larisa muttered, her eyes inquisitive. Ivy stayed quiet for sometime, Ryder was never over his ex before he married her, showing her nothing but fake love all this while, as soon as his ex returned, he didn't even hesitate to shove her aside. If that was the case, then she'd give them their space. She would divorce Ryder, and leave with her pregnancy. With her thoughts going haywire, her hand unconsciously went down to her stomach. Larisa looked at her closely, she knew she had gone far in thoughts. "Ivy?" Larisa called, her voice soft. "I'm pregnant." Ivy suddenly muttered, her eyes still faraway. Larisa's eyes opened wide, this was a great news, she felt happy in her heart for once since today. "Have you told Mr CEO about it yet?" Larisa asked, her eyes sparkling. "No I'm not telling him." She muttered, frown suddenly settled on Larisa's forehead. "Why? He's the father and I think you should let him know, right?" "I don't think Ryder is fit to be the father of my baby or my husband anymore." Larisa's face became sullen, she knew what she meant, Ryder had neglected her and going around with his ex since she returned, which woman wouldn't feel good about it? "But I still think you should talk to him, maybe you should also tell him to stop going around with Sheila, he might listen to you, you're his wife." Ivy remained quite, he already promised her he wouldn't repeat those mistakes again, yet just after five minutes, he did it again, even worst, in her presence. Ivy was going to give Ryder the space he needed to be with his ex. Just as they were still deep into their conversation, her phone beeped. It was an email. She picked-up her phone and saw it was from Ryder. Why was he sending her a mail? She opened it to check. Her brows raised as she goes through it. A contract proposal. In the email, it was stated that the top bag making company were about to launch new designs. They needed Ryder's company to design wears that would stand out with their bags. This company was huge and a top performing company in Los Angeles. If they showcased Ivy's design along side their bags, Ivy was sure to become even more famous with her designs than she already was. She had been working perfectly, her designs were one of a kind and even Ryder knew this. This particular company had involved them in their proposal because of Ivy's past work. "Looks like a new contract.." Larisa muttered. "Yes Lar, a huge one.." She muttered, and urged Larisa to get back to work. She began going through the papers she'd need to make this a success. Larisa never played with anything that had to do with her job, and if she was going to leave Ryder, she'd still do her job perfectly till the day she leaves. ----------- Hours later, Ryder returned back to the company, with his hand bag still by his side. Ivy balled her fist tightly. This lady was not going to give her husband even a moment to breath. She watched as they got into his office. She seethed with anger. Grabbing a file from her desk, she left to Ryder's office. The both seating on Ryder's office couch, Ivy's eyes on Sheila, she had a smug look on her face which swiftly turned into a fake smile. When she got to where Ryder sat, she stood in his front. "Ryder?" Ivy called, her tone flat and accusatory. He raised his head, his eyes looking up at her. "Yea.. did you see the mail I sent you, that's what you'll be working on for now, it's very good especially for you, it will give you more exposure and also benefits the company." Ryder muttered thinking Ivy would be impressed. Instead, she had a disappointed look on her face. "Where did you two go?" She suddenly blurted, she couldn't take it anymore, after all Ryder was her husband. "Ow.. sorry Ivy, I took him without informing you, I'm so sorry please don't get mad at him." Sheila defended with that fake smile on her face, sarcasm dripping her voice. Ivy's jaw clenched as anger fumed inside of her, she wasn't even talking to her why wouldn't she let Ryder reply her? Sorry but I need Ryder to talk to me himself." Ivy muttered, her face hard now, she was tired of pretending, she wasn't doing okay, she had been sad and heartbroken and she wasn't going to hide it anymore. "Ryder I'm talking to you.." Ivy muttered, her eyes on Ryder. But Sheila wasn't ready to back down, to let her have conversations with her husband. "It's just some business he's helping me take care of, can you not get mad at him please?" Ivy bit her lower lips, brushing her hair backward. "Tell her Ryder, explain yourself, don't allow her to get mad at you, she's your wife." Sheila intervened. Ivy scoffed, her jaw clenched. "It's the truth Ivy, stop making a big deal out of this, don't create a scene over nothing, now get back to work."Ivy's heart thumped faster in her chest. Was this it? Getting found out this way? She balled her fist under the table, her jaw clenching harder. This b!tch Lucielle. Set to expose her now. "Ivy, is that true?" Her mother-in-law's voice came through. Ivy bit on her lower lip. Getting cringed by all these eyes on her. Even Grandpa Walton's eyes were on her with such a beaming expression. Oh, how she wished she could say the truth, to make Grandpa Walton happy. But she wasn't sure of her marriage anymore. She wasn't sure if Ryder was apt enough to be her baby's father anymore. Tears threatened to well up in her eyes. She had always wanted to make Grandpa Walton happy for loving her so much by giving him a great-grandchild, and now that it was here, she couldn't even tell him. This broke her heart. "Ivy.." Ryder called, confused by her silence. "No.. I've been eating anyhow lately, that's why." She muttered. "Of course.. It's unusual for you to get pre
Ivy sat down, her heart beating faster in her chest. What had come over Ryder? She wished her husband had returned for good. They arrived at Grandpa Walton's mansion a few hours into their drive. Everyone could be seen dressed in elegant attire. Ivy's countenance eased up even more at the thought of seeing Grandpa Walton after such a long time. Ivy had joy brewing in her chest. This birthday brought good luck with it. Still hoping Ryder would make everything right with their marriage. They were meant to be a happy family. Her baby was supposed to have a father, so why couldn't Ryder just make everything right so she could just inform him? In a split second, they arrived at the entrance. From afar, Ivy sighted Grandpa Walton, Seated on his chair, elegantly. Her happiness erupted seeing the smile on his face. Grandpa was one of the sweetest souls Ivy had ever met. And he liked her so much. Just as she made to go and meet him where he sat, her mother-in-law
Ivy lay on her bed with her eyes wide open. She wondered where her husband had gone with Sheila.Figuring she couldn't deal with this alone, she decided to put a call to Larisa. But after calling several times, Larisa never picked up.Deep sighs escaped her lungs. Larisa was an early sleeper, maybe she had fallen asleep. She was now alone in her dilemma, alone in her marriage, with nobody to comfort her or distract her even for a moment. She was losing her husband to his ex. With so many thoughts jumbled on her mind, Ivy finally drifted off to sleep.--------Light rays pierce through her window into the room. She turned around on the bed.Her eyes opened slowly and suddenly opened wide as they stopped on Ryder in front of the mirror. She placed her head back on the pillow, admiring the back of the man who had chosen to disrespect her and neglect their marriage. Their bond was dying yet Ryder couldn't make it right. When did he get home last night? Ivy had no idea. They were drifti
A few minutes later, the door pushed open, revealing Ryder entering their home... with his handbag right behind him. "What are you doing here?!" Ivy couldn't contain her anger "What are you doing here! How dare you come into my home!" She seethed. "Calm down Ivy, I'm here to apologise." She muttered and Ivy's eyes squinted, her face almost disgusted. This could be another trick of hers. Then she came forward to where Ivy stood, "Ivy, I'm sorry for talking down on you earlier. You know I've never done that before.. I'm a lil not myself today. I'm truly sorry and this will never happen again." Sheila apologized, her tone very soft and regretful. Enough to fool anyone into believing she was real. But Ivy wasn't a fool. She knew what she was doing, she was just doing this for the show. To bring back her soft deceitful image Ryder had always known her for... Did she just say she had never done that before? What about back at her office earlier today? Ivy scoff
Her pupils dilated as she walked closer, the sound of her heels adding to her elegance. "So you think you can shop here hun? Does this look like a thrift store to you?" She mocked. Ivy bit her lower lip. Sheila seems not to have any other things going on in her life except her and Ryder. "This b!tch." Ivy cursed under her breath, trying to maintain her composure. Ignoring her, she walked up to Larisa. "Let's get out of here." She muttered. Larisa's brows raised. "Why?" She asked. Just then Sheila came behind them. "I know you'd come here with your minion." Larisa couldn't help but glare. Inside her, she was a bit scared as she might get sacked. Then she agreed with Ivy. They had to leave, but then this was the best place to shop for the pretty dress Ivy would need for Grandpa Walton’s birthday. "Why don't we just buy this then we leave?" Larisa suggested, showing Ivy the dress she had in her hands. It was beautiful too. As they talked to the sales rep, ign
"Sheila. Get a hold of yourself. What we had then is in the past. I have a wife now." Ryder muttered, his tone cold. Sheila sighed. Since she came back, there was nothing she had not done to get Ryder into bed with her, but his mind was too strong. But she'd get him, definitely. He was hers from the beginning and would always be hers. "Alright, let's go for lunch. I'd love to have lunch outside today, " she muttered, her tone seductive. "I'm choked with work right now Sheila, I'll join you soon." Ryder muttered. With that, Sheila knew he had just turned her down. Who was Ivy? Even if she was beautiful, she was more beautiful than her. She had the vibe that Ryder needed. Why was he playing hard to get back? Seething with anger and resentment, she made a note in her heart, if she couldn't get Ryder like this, then she'd frustrate Ivy out of his life. She'd go back to that b!tch now. Her heels clicking loudly on the cold floor, complementing the anger boiling inside her
