Se connecterIvy loved Ryder with all her heart, she left her life aside just to be with him. But when his ex returned, he discarded her without hesitation. Going out with her and taking care of her need as though she was the wife he had always wanted. Angered and betrayed, Ivy decided she'd give them the space they craved. She came into his life to be loved by him, and if he couldn't give her that love, then goodbye to him. Years later, Ivy returned happier, elegant, richer and even more confident than the ex he chose over her. Now he wanted her back but Ivy already had a new life and wasn't interested in revisiting her past.. 'Sorry but you're now a thing of the past.'
Voir plusIt was winter in Los Angeles, the weather was frigid, and snow was cascading comfortably down the sky.
Ivy walked through the glass door of a hospital, her stride large and her eyes focused . She was going to see a doctor. Earlier today, Ivy tripped and fell in her office. Her head felt light, and her eyes spun, and swiftly, in a split second, she was welcomed into darkness. Ivy lay there motionless for almost thirty minutes until she regained consciousness again. Her eyes still heavy and drowsy she stretched to take water, only then was she able to put herself together. Thank goodness no one was around to see her, else she would have become the talk of her office. She adjusted her mask as she opened the door slowly into the doctor's office. When she got in, Ivy swiped down her mask. "Hi, Doctor Collins.." She greeted the man who had a pleasant smile upon seeing her. "Please have your seat, Mrs Taylor." He muttered, his tone calm and polite. When she sat down, Dr. Collins began inquiring about her symptoms which she replied firmly. From there, she proceeded to the lab where her blood was drawn for diagnosis. Ivy sat quietly waiting for her results and prescription. Whatever was wrong with her should not be more than fatigue, or whatever it was, she couldn't wait to get her medications and go back to her office. She had so many works back there to do. As a team leader, her desk was always choked with work. Ivy was a very diligent workaholic who didn't joke with her job, even though her husband owned the company. She worked hard like every other employee in the company. A few minutes later, Doctor Collins called her back to his office, her results were ready. Her medications must be prescribed already, it shouldn't take much time. But when she got there, doctor Collins only asked her to sit down, she sat, but instead of handing her the medications to leave. He started with. "Mrs Taylor, why are you stressing yourself so much in your condition?" Ivy had her forehead scrunched together. What did he mean by her condition? When doctor Collins saw the puzzled look on her face, he realized she might not know about it yet’. "Mrs Taylor, you're two months pregnant and you must do away with anything that's giving you stress." Ivy had her mouth open wide along with her eyes. She couldn't believe this news. "Are.. are you serious doctor?" She asked, her breath husky and her chest going up and down. Ivy had been married for over three years without even a miscarriage and now she was pregnant? Just how? "Yes Mrs Taylor, you're already two months into it, you have to start your antenatal care as soon as possible." Ivy's hand moved slowly to her stomach, still in disbelief. There was a life growing inside her stomach now? Doctor Collins nodded, his smile widening. Strings of joy overwhelmed Ivy's heart. She was finally carrying Ryder's child. She caressed her stomach which was still flat, although she knew she had added a few pounds, but Ivy never imagined she was carrying an angel in her stomach. Her smile brightened. This was good news for her and her family. She was sure Ryder would be so happy to hear this. Although he had been mute and never questioned her for not being pregnant all these years, she knew he was concerned about it. Ryder loved her so much and for the past three years of their marriage, he had never put anyone above her. Not even his family. Not even when his sister came trying to make her feel bad for not having a child, Ryder warned her to never come back to their home again. He was protective of her and cherished her dearly. "Thank you so much Doctor, I'll have to leave now to break this great news to my husband." "Alright Mrs Taylor, make sure to start your antenatal care on time." "Thank you." With that, Ivy drifted away. She hopped into her BMW 7-series and drove off. She couldn't wait to get home and tell her husband. She walked through that elegant door of their penthouse, her face glowing and a smile plastered on her lips as she rushed in to meet Ryder. But when she got in, the house was quiet. Ryder was usually back by this time and the TV would always be on running and loud as Ryder watched football or played video games. This was his specific time, but today Ryder wasn't at home doing any of that. Ivy wondered why. Does he have extra work at the office? That wasn't possible, as Ryder always takes this time off, to enjoy his 1-hour moment before going back to any work he had. She checked the time again to be sure, but she was right, this was his leisure period. What happened? Ivy's shoulder slumped. Where had her husband gone without informing her? He often tells her if there was a change in his schedule, what was happening? Ivy decided to wait for when he'd return, she would ask when he started behaving like this. With her sullen face, she walked into her bathroom for a quick shower. When she was done, she put on her pyjamas and hopped back on the couch to put on their TV. She was going to watch the news, as a big company, its stock price was always discussed and put on the news by journalists. She doesn't often watch this, but she needed it now to keep herself busy till her husband returned. Just as Ivy put on the broadcasting station, a recap came up. In the recap, there was an elegant lady in a very flying hat, her skin flawless, and huge sunglasses plastered on her face. She exuded elegance, beside her was who she couldn't believe it was. It couldn't be her husband right? This wasn't Ryder was it? And who was the lady?Ivy lay on her bed with her eyes wide open. She wondered where her husband had gone with Sheila.Figuring she couldn't deal with this alone, she decided to put a call to Larisa. But after calling several times, Larisa never picked up.Deep sighs escaped her lungs. Larisa was an early sleeper, maybe she had fallen asleep. She was now alone in her dilemma, alone in her marriage, with nobody to comfort her or distract her even for a moment. She was losing her husband to his ex. With so many thoughts jumbled on her mind, Ivy finally drifted off to sleep.--------Light rays pierce through her window into the room. She turned around on the bed.Her eyes opened slowly and suddenly opened wide as they stopped on Ryder in front of the mirror. She placed her head back on the pillow, admiring the back of the man who had chosen to disrespect her and neglect their marriage. Their bond was dying yet Ryder couldn't make it right. When did he get home last night? Ivy had no idea. They were drifti
A few minutes later, the door pushed open, revealing Ryder entering their home... with his handbag right behind him. "What are you doing here?!" Ivy couldn't contain her anger "What are you doing here! How dare you come into my home!" She seethed. "Calm down Ivy, I'm here to apologise." She muttered and Ivy's eyes squinted, her face almost disgusted. This could be another trick of hers. Then she came forward to where Ivy stood, "Ivy, I'm sorry for talking down on you earlier. You know I've never done that before.. I'm a lil not myself today. I'm truly sorry and this will never happen again." Sheila apologized, her tone very soft and regretful. Enough to fool anyone into believing she was real. But Ivy wasn't a fool. She knew what she was doing, she was just doing this for the show. To bring back her soft deceitful image Ryder had always known her for... Did she just say she had never done that before? What about back at her office earlier today? Ivy scoff
Her pupils dilated as she walked closer, the sound of her heels adding to her elegance. "So you think you can shop here hun? Does this look like a thrift store to you?" She mocked. Ivy bit her lower lip. Sheila seems not to have any other things going on in her life except her and Ryder. "This b!tch." Ivy cursed under her breath, trying to maintain her composure. Ignoring her, she walked up to Larisa. "Let's get out of here." She muttered. Larisa's brows raised. "Why?" She asked. Just then Sheila came behind them. "I know you'd come here with your minion." Larisa couldn't help but glare. Inside her, she was a bit scared as she might get sacked. Then she agreed with Ivy. They had to leave, but then this was the best place to shop for the pretty dress Ivy would need for Grandpa Walton’s birthday. "Why don't we just buy this then we leave?" Larisa suggested, showing Ivy the dress she had in her hands. It was beautiful too. As they talked to the sales rep, ign
"Sheila. Get a hold of yourself. What we had then is in the past. I have a wife now." Ryder muttered, his tone cold. Sheila sighed. Since she came back, there was nothing she had not done to get Ryder into bed with her, but his mind was too strong. But she'd get him, definitely. He was hers from the beginning and would always be hers. "Alright, let's go for lunch. I'd love to have lunch outside today, " she muttered, her tone seductive. "I'm choked with work right now Sheila, I'll join you soon." Ryder muttered. With that, Sheila knew he had just turned her down. Who was Ivy? Even if she was beautiful, she was more beautiful than her. She had the vibe that Ryder needed. Why was he playing hard to get back? Seething with anger and resentment, she made a note in her heart, if she couldn't get Ryder like this, then she'd frustrate Ivy out of his life. She'd go back to that b!tch now. Her heels clicking loudly on the cold floor, complementing the anger boiling inside her
"Have you lost your manners?" Ivy yelled, her frustration etched on her forehead. Sheila's eyes widened at the condition of her office. "Are you packing?" She queried, with a slight smirk on her lips. It was obvious she wanted her to leave. "I'm taking some books out why?" Ivy lied, she wouldn't give her the satisfaction of making her feel she was leaving the office for her. "Ow alright, so how is it? I told you right? You'll do it, you don't have a choice." She muttered, mockery filled in her voice. "Yes I'm doing it, not because you asked me to, but because Ryder my husband asked me to do it, due to your lack of experience," Ivy muttered, then smirked at her face. She could see Sheila ball her fist beside her. Her forehead slowly deepened into a frown. Ivy was right, she had no experience being an MD. Even when she still owned her company, she wasn't always around to manage any deals. Sheila was always interested in clubbing with her friends. And how her company was hij
Her eyes welled up with tears. The man she had loved with every fiber of her being. He had also loved her like she was the only woman that ever existed. But now, he had changed completely from who he used to be. He lied to her about almost everything. Why was he calling now? What does he want? She knew why he was calling and she scoffed painfully. It was obvious. He was calling on behalf of Sheila. To make her take the job. When Sheila mentioned he listened to her now instead of his wife, she didn't doubt that. Now he was calling to command her to take on Sheila's job along with her own. How more cruel could he get? She was even pregnant with his baby. She picked up the call on the third ring. "Ivy, please see me in my office.." He muttered, his voice unusually soft, as if weighed down by guilt. Ivy's frown deepened. She didn't know what to say to him _ she wasn't sure if she wanted to see him yet. "Please.." His voice came on again. "Okay.." Ivy muttered, he
