"Ivy.." He breathed.

Ivy's heart beat faster, waiting for whatever he had to say.

What did Sheila meant when she said they were now colleagues?

"I.. I.. I'm sorry Ivy.." Ryder muttered, his voice low and his eyes still looking everywhere except Ivy's.

"Sorry? Why? I'm just working here now, how's that offensive? Ow did that offend Ivy?" Sheila muttered, her face soft with her brows raised, but Ivy didn't reply, she was quiet, still finding it hard to believe.

Why was he sorry? What does he have to be sorry about? Was Sheila saying the truth? Does she work in the company now? This question juggled her mind

"Sheila's business isn't doing good at the moment Ivy.. so she has to work with us for now." Ryder's voice pushed through..

Ivy bit on her lower lips.

She had grown from just coming to the office to now officially working with them. Ryder sure had lost his mind.

With her face twisted in anger, Ivy left his office.

Larisa followed her up as she sighted her.

"I'm truly sorry Ivy, I can't believe Mr CEO will do something like this.. we all know you're the one for that position, how can he just give it to someone that had never work with us in the company before?" Larisa complained, her forehead scrunched with anger.

Ivy paused, Ryder had only told her Sheila was now working in the company, but never said the position she acclaimed. What was going on? What position did he gave her? How did everyone know and she had no idea till she got here?

"What's her position?" Ivy inquired, her face serious and her fist tightened.

"You mean you didn't see it? It's in the chatroom, everybody's talking about it." Larisa muttered, just then it came crumbling down her head. The rumor everyone was murmuring about when she got here this morning but she refused to pay attention to. Neither had she checked her phone for anything this morning.

"So what's her position!" She questioned, her voice loud and shaky, she hoped in heart it wasn't what she was thinking.

She had been waiting for the day Ryder would assign her as the company's managing director, she had been working her ass out for that position, what if Ryder gave it to Sheila?

"Larisa, you need to tell me now, what position did Ryder gave to that girl?" She muttered, her voice cold and fierce.

"You mean he hasn't told you?"

"Are you telling me or you'll just play with me?"

Without waiting for her replies anymore, she started retrieving her phone from her pocket.

"Mr CEO made her the managing director of the company.." Larisa finally muttered.

Ivy paused. She wasn't saying the right thing was she? Was Larisa teasing her? She went on pressing her phone till she got to the message.

Her hand shook and her knees wobbled, she staggered, but Larisa was quick to hold her in place.

"I'm sorry viee, you don't deserve any of this thing that's going on.."

"Why,.. why did Ryder did this to me? I have so work hard for this company, everyone knew, next I should be there, but why did Ryder hate me so much, why does he place his ex above me!" Her voice shook as she drawn in tears.

Larisa held her in place.

"It's okay viee, it's not even the end of the world, you're going to be fine. You don't even need that position, it comes with a lot of stress." Larisa tried to console her, but Ivy was not buying it.

She needed a promotion. She deserved it, she was not a dog that should be kept in one place for decades, even a dog wouldn't be treated that way. Anger seethed through her bone. Ryder had lied to her. Just between last night and this morning, he had done something else to insert back that doubt and uncertainties in their marriage again.

Her teeth clenched together as she fall into her sit.

Ryder had thrown her the biggest betrayal of her life. How could he do this? And here she was, so happy she got her husband back.

Few minutes later, everyone recieved an email for stake holders and employees meeting.

Ivy knew what this was all about.

Sheila was about to officially take the position she had been working so hard for.
