MEGAN’S POV

That night felt like a year. All I did was lie on my back, staring at the ceiling blankly. I waited and hoped that Austin would come back to bed, but he didn’t.

Instead, my phone chimed, and I quickly picked it up. A video message popped up on my phone, and I quickly opened it.

“Hey, Luna. Look, Austin is sleeping so peacefully wrapped in my arms. Don’t mind so much; we’ve always been like this. He just can’t sleep well without being in my arms like a baby.” Kayla’s annoying laughter brought hot tears brimming in my eyes.

The sight of my ‘dear’ husband fast asleep in her arms made my heart ache. He left me in the cold and went to sleep in her arms. I’m his Luna, his mate, but he would throw me out without a second thought once it has to do with Kayla.

I quickly shut the phone and dropped it on the table, sniffing hard as tears rolled down my cheeks. Another message popped up on my phone; this time it was just a picture. Kayla was dressed in a bikini, kissing Austin’s cheek even if he was fast asleep in her arms.

When I couldn’t take it anymore, I jerked up from the bed and stormed out of the room angrily. As soon as I got to the room and pushed the door open, a gasp escaped my mouth as I saw Kayla all over my husband’s body.

“What the hell are you doing?” I freaked out and rushed to Kayla. Instantly, I dragged her by the arm away from Austin.

Just when Austin was about to open his eyes, Kayla pretentiously fell on the ground like I pushed her. “Hey… ouch…” She groaned while I stared at her, perplexed.

“Megan, why did you push me?” She cried, feigning pain.

Austin turned his gaze at me. “Megan, what are you doing here?” He raised his brows while I stared frantically back and forth at both of them with a mixture of anger and confusion. However, Austin rushed to Kayla, who was still on the ground, and held her hands passionately. “What did you do to Kayla?”

“How long has this been going on? Is this why you always travel out of the country?” I stood there with tears in my eyes and heaviness in my heart.

Austin scoffed in disappointment. “I’ve told you a million times, there’s nothing going on between me and Kayla. She might be my ex-fiancée, but we’re over. Can you get a hold of your jealousy? Kayla gets panic attacks just because she saved me years ago; I can’t let her suffer that alone without being by her side.”

“Suffering panic attacks?” I scoffed in utter disbelief. “Kissing you? Is that part of the panic attack?”

“Stop it.” He cut me off. “Stop overthinking and overreacting. If Kayla hadn’t convinced the Prescotts, the most powerful European pack all over the world, to help us and give us the ultimate contract, the whole pack would be finished.” He continued.

I paused, trying to process what he had just told me. “Prescott’s? But that is…”

“Oh, please. You’re not going to tell me you did that just because you share the same last name with them? That’s enough, Megan. Apologize to Kayla now.” He sternly ordered.

Anger surged through my veins. “You want your wife, your Luna, to apologize to a home wrecker just for faking a fall?”

Kayla smirked while holding onto Austin’s arm. I raised my hand to slap her cheek, but Austin grabbed my hand, holding it tightly… so tight that it was hurting me.

“Let go of me, Austin. You’re hurting me.” I winced, and he forcefully let go of my hand, making me trip and fall with my stomach landing on the table. I cried out in pain, holding my stomach.

Immediately, Austin wanted to rush to help me up, and Kayla started faking a groan, like she was in pain while holding her head.

“Kayla! Kay, are you okay? I’ll take you to the hospital; hang on.” He quickly carried Kayla in his arms and rushed to the door, leaving me on the ground in intense pain. I stared at them with my eyes filled with tears. Such that my vision was blurry as I stretched my hand to reach for his trousers, but he didn’t spare a glance. “Austin, please…” I pleaded, but he didn’t seem to hear or listen to me.

“I’m pregnant with his pup.” Kayla mouthed with a mischievous grin.

I watched him walk out of the door, not minding how I was wincing in pain. Then, my eyes caught the blood rolling down my thighs from my nighties, and I screamed out loud, reaching for my phone that had fallen to the edge of the wall. The pain I felt was terrible as I crawled towards my phone to reach for it despite how painful it felt.

With the last strength in me, I managed to reach the phone, and with my eyes almost closed, I dialed the number and placed the phone on my ear.

“Help me. Help my baby.” That was all I could say before I passed out, lying in the pool of my blood.

MEGAN'S POV I held onto my head as I felt my eyes closing. My vision was blurry. “What did you do to me?”He cackled mischievously and sat down with his legs crossed. “Drink wasn't the only surprise tonight. Of course, I know you would find out that the drink was drugged.” Then, he pointed at the incense burner on the table, and I breathed heavily, trying hard to keep my eyes open. “That…. I already took the antidote, so it won't affect me or anyone in this room except you, Miss Prescott.” He laughed maliciously. “You're…. You're evil and don't deserve to live.” I managed to speak because I was almost losing my voice. He roared with laughter like I had just given him a compliment. “There's no need to act tough, Miss Prescott. Don't worry, I'll go gentle with you. Look at you now.” He snapped his finger, and everyone in the room left instantly. In the twinkle of an eye, the room became empty. Bending closer to me, he ran his fingers all over my body. “You look like a helpless litt

MEGAN'S POV I sat on the chair facing the desktop on the table, lost in thought and staring blankly at the screen of the computer. Then came a faint knock on the door of my office. I didn't even realize that the door of the office was swung open until Claire tapped the table and I blinked hard, turning to her. “Y… Yes?”“Miss Prescott, are you okay? You look lost, and that's bad for work.” She chipped in. I forced a smile. “It's nothing. How may I help you?” “Oh, you don't need to help me because you'll be needing a lot of that help for yourself.” She jokingly snapped. “I mean, as the project manager, you'll have to meet with Mr. Davison. He's quite a difficult man to please. You'll need him to sign, and then we can proceed with the other facilities.” She tried to sound caring, but in the real sense, it felt like she was mocking me.“Mr. Davison?” I mouthed with my eyes rolling. “Get me an appointment with him.” I readily replied, and she smiled mischievously.Picking up the files

AUSTIN'S POVI walked into the store, and Kayla rushed to me with wide arms and a beaming smile. “Oh, Austin. How sweet of you! You spoil me so much. Thank you for buying the entire store for me. You really…” She ran her hands from my chest down to my stomach. “You really didn't have to.” Immediately, I stared hard at her with arched eyebrows. “What are you talking about?” I pushed her hand away. “Who said I bought you anything?”Megan stared at both of us with an expressionless glare as she clutched my shoulder bag. The second saleslady chuckled nervously and started. “Uhm… Alpha, you said you bought the store for your wife. I naturally assumed… I mean, I saw you both.” She pointed at Austin and Kayla while talking. “I've seen you both on TV together, so she must be your wife, right?”“This is ridiculous!” Megan shook her head as she turned to leave, but I grabbed her arm. “No, Megan. You're my wife.”For a second, she became numb. After a few minutes of silence, she turned around

ALICE'S POV I drove into the mall and parked the car in the garage. Kayla and I walked into the mall laughing and chatting. However, our laughter was cut short the moment we sighted Megan shopping in the clothes section. Kayla scoffed in disgust as she cleared her throat noisily to get Megan's attention. Megan turned slightly with her face indifferent. “Oh, look who we have here. I wonder how many times you had to spread your legs to be able to afford that.” She pointed at the dress Megan was holding. Ignoring her, Megan rolled her eyes and proceeded to take out another dress from the display shelf. Furious, Kayla grabbed her arm rudely. “Hey. I'm talking to you.” “She thinks she can buy a discount dress at a luxury store.” I taunted, staring hatefully at her. Kayla and I laughed loudly. “And pretend to be a socialite.” I added.Kayla shook her head in a feign of pity. “You know what? It's actually kind of sad. You can put lipstick on a pig, but that doesn't stop it from being a p

MEGAN'S POV My words seemed to throw Austin off balance. He stared at me, blinking rapidly. I could almost hear his heart beating fast. “What do you say, Alpha Austin Sinclair? I thought you wanted to save your little dream girl? I don't have all the time in the world.”“No, absolutely not.” He finally blurted out, to my surprise. My eyes widened in astonishment. “What?” I snapped at him.He shook his head." I said, No. I cannot give up my position in the Wolf's Joint Empire."“Then, we have absolutely nothing to talk about, Mr. Sinclair.”I turned to leave, but Kayla's voice made me turn around. She ran straight to Austin, shedding her usual false tears—nothing new.“Austin, your ex-wife is so cold-hearted. You know how important this eatery is to me, don't you? Just because she's whoring herself to the Alpha Prince, she has succeeded in getting me thrown out of here.” Kayla sniffed pretentiously. I shook my head in disgust. A drama queen will always be a drama queen. Kayla sharply

MEGAN'S POVLucien and I were seated at a fancy restaurant with the piping hot delicacies served in front of us. I sipped the cocktail slowly as he started. “How is your new job treating you? You know you could have just started as the MD?” “I don't want that yet, Lucien. I just started, and I hope it gets better.” I simply uttered, spooning the creamy pasta into my mouth. After a few seconds of silence, with a worried voice, Lucien added. “How are you coping with your ex-husband?”I choked. My gaze went from the plate to Lucien. “He's working as a partner of the company. Of course, I'm there to do my job, which is precisely what I've been doing.”“Megan, if you can't cope with him around you, do not hesitate to tell me. I'll do anything and everything to buy the shares back from him and…” Lucien was determined, but I interrupted him softly. “You don't have to. Austin and I are divorced. Whatever we had was in the past. Now, we're just co-workers or partners in a business place. That
