LOGINMEGAN’S POV
The Rolls-Royce drove into a massive mansion, and the driver rushed down to open the car while Nate helped me out of the car. The moment I stepped out of the car, I heaved a sigh of relief as I scanned around the compound with a faint smile on my face. “It feels good to be back home. I’m never leaving again.” I mumbled as Nate patted my shoulder. The servants and bodyguards stood by the door, and the minute I stepped closer to them, they bowed immediately. “Welcome home, Moon Heiress,” they chorused as I smiled a little. The entrance door swung open, and my father walked out of it. Tears clouded my eyes. I was filled with regret and sadness. I could remember clearly 4 years ago, standing on this same spot, I dragged my luggage out, refusing to listen to all pleas and warnings not to marry Alpha Austin. “My decision is final. I’m not going to Europe, and I would rather not take over the pack’s position as the Moon Heiress. All I want is to be Austin’s wife.” I lamented dragging my box out of the mansion. Tears brimmed in my eyes as I sniffed hard and ran to my father. I fell on my knees as tears rolled from my face. He quickly helped me up. “Don’t cry, my princess.” He patted my hair. “I’m so sorry, Dad; you warned me, but I was blinded by love. I didn’t listen. I let you down, Dad.” I whimpered, turning away my face in shame. “That bastard.” The Alpha King, my father muttered as he patted me tenderly. “He never deserved you. You’re home now, Megan. Have some rest; please keep in mind that you have a little life growing inside you. Most importantly, you have to learn how to be a real Alpha Queen of our pack and the Moon Heiress of the Werewolf Packs. Moreover, you would have to leave soon for Europe to handle our business and companies over there for a while. Megan, my dear, are you ready?” I sniffed hard and nodded. “Yes, Dad. I’m ready to take back my crown and my unparalleled bloodline. If not anything, for my baby.” I slowly rubbed my stomach. Instantly, I took off the patch on my chest, and my eyes gleamed with fire. “That’s the daughter I birthed. You concealed your extraordinary powers just to be with that bastard. I’m glad you’re finally back to take over your crown as the Moon Heiress.” My father smiled broadly. With a teary smile, I sniveled hard. “I won’t let you down again, Dad. I have to step up my game for you, the pack, and my child.” “Oh, that’s by the way. How far gone are you?” He softly questioned. “Did they give you a sonogram?” My eyes widened, and a gasp escaped my mouth. “I left the report at Austin’s. I’ll get it tomorrow. He doesn’t need to know about the baby. Once I get the sonogram, I’ll leave the country for Europe.” Meanwhile, Alpha Austin walked into the mansion with his suitcase still in his hand. “Megan, did you make my French toast…” He stopped as his eyes scanned around the empty house. His voice echoed while he spoke. “Did she really not come back?” He thought as he dropped the suitcase on the sofa and walked towards the unmade bed with his eyes dimmed with worry. Memories rushed back into his head as his eyes moved from the couch to the bed and then to the dressing table. “Austin, I know you liked this shirt so much; don’t worry, I’ll sew in the fallen button myself.” I had smiled broadly as I sat on the couch with a needle and thread as I sewed the missing button on his shirt, and then suddenly I got pricked by the needle, and I flinched in pain. He only turned his face at me and mumbled nonchalantly. “You’re so clumsy. Try to be more careful.” And then, he glanced at the bed. He remembered when I always made the bed, folded his pajamas neatly and placed them on the bed, waiting for him each time he came back from work. Whenever he stepped into the bedroom, I would rush to help him take off his suit and the suitcase while he put on his pajamas that had already been folded and placed on the bed, then slipped his feet into the already arranged fur slides. He recalled how he always found strawberry cupcakes on the bedside table because he had a sweet tooth and I’d always bake him his favorite strawberry cakes. Now, there were no pajamas, no cupcakes, no fur slides… just the cold, empty However, he never believed that I was going to divorce him. In his words, where would she go? How would she survive without me? He only concluded that I was throwing tantrums and that I would be back to become his obedient housewife. As he paced about the room, his eyes caught on a paper on the table, and reluctantly he picked it up. His eyes grew wide in shock and realization. “A sonogram?” He mouthed as he stared at the paper. Without hesitation, he grabbed his phone and dialed a number before placing the phone on his left ear. “Alpha, you must have heard the good news. Luna Megan is pregnant, congratulations.” The pack doctor’s elated voice echoed through the phone’s speaker. He shut his eyes tight. “So it’s true?” “Of course, Alpha. She was so excited and couldn’t wait to share the news with you. I’m a little surprised you’re just finding out now. She was eager to share the news with you.” The doctor continued as Austin’s jaw dropped. Then, he flashed back to the times I had told him I had something to tell him and how he didn’t pay any attention. “Thank you, doctor.” He managed to speak and hung the call up. Slamming his fist against the table, his eyes gleaming like wildfire. “Megan. No…” He growled.MEGAN'S POV I held onto my head as I felt my eyes closing. My vision was blurry. “What did you do to me?”He cackled mischievously and sat down with his legs crossed. “Drink wasn't the only surprise tonight. Of course, I know you would find out that the drink was drugged.” Then, he pointed at the incense burner on the table, and I breathed heavily, trying hard to keep my eyes open. “That…. I already took the antidote, so it won't affect me or anyone in this room except you, Miss Prescott.” He laughed maliciously. “You're…. You're evil and don't deserve to live.” I managed to speak because I was almost losing my voice. He roared with laughter like I had just given him a compliment. “There's no need to act tough, Miss Prescott. Don't worry, I'll go gentle with you. Look at you now.” He snapped his finger, and everyone in the room left instantly. In the twinkle of an eye, the room became empty. Bending closer to me, he ran his fingers all over my body. “You look like a helpless litt
MEGAN'S POV I sat on the chair facing the desktop on the table, lost in thought and staring blankly at the screen of the computer. Then came a faint knock on the door of my office. I didn't even realize that the door of the office was swung open until Claire tapped the table and I blinked hard, turning to her. “Y… Yes?”“Miss Prescott, are you okay? You look lost, and that's bad for work.” She chipped in. I forced a smile. “It's nothing. How may I help you?” “Oh, you don't need to help me because you'll be needing a lot of that help for yourself.” She jokingly snapped. “I mean, as the project manager, you'll have to meet with Mr. Davison. He's quite a difficult man to please. You'll need him to sign, and then we can proceed with the other facilities.” She tried to sound caring, but in the real sense, it felt like she was mocking me.“Mr. Davison?” I mouthed with my eyes rolling. “Get me an appointment with him.” I readily replied, and she smiled mischievously.Picking up the files
AUSTIN'S POVI walked into the store, and Kayla rushed to me with wide arms and a beaming smile. “Oh, Austin. How sweet of you! You spoil me so much. Thank you for buying the entire store for me. You really…” She ran her hands from my chest down to my stomach. “You really didn't have to.” Immediately, I stared hard at her with arched eyebrows. “What are you talking about?” I pushed her hand away. “Who said I bought you anything?”Megan stared at both of us with an expressionless glare as she clutched my shoulder bag. The second saleslady chuckled nervously and started. “Uhm… Alpha, you said you bought the store for your wife. I naturally assumed… I mean, I saw you both.” She pointed at Austin and Kayla while talking. “I've seen you both on TV together, so she must be your wife, right?”“This is ridiculous!” Megan shook her head as she turned to leave, but I grabbed her arm. “No, Megan. You're my wife.”For a second, she became numb. After a few minutes of silence, she turned around
ALICE'S POV I drove into the mall and parked the car in the garage. Kayla and I walked into the mall laughing and chatting. However, our laughter was cut short the moment we sighted Megan shopping in the clothes section. Kayla scoffed in disgust as she cleared her throat noisily to get Megan's attention. Megan turned slightly with her face indifferent. “Oh, look who we have here. I wonder how many times you had to spread your legs to be able to afford that.” She pointed at the dress Megan was holding. Ignoring her, Megan rolled her eyes and proceeded to take out another dress from the display shelf. Furious, Kayla grabbed her arm rudely. “Hey. I'm talking to you.” “She thinks she can buy a discount dress at a luxury store.” I taunted, staring hatefully at her. Kayla and I laughed loudly. “And pretend to be a socialite.” I added.Kayla shook her head in a feign of pity. “You know what? It's actually kind of sad. You can put lipstick on a pig, but that doesn't stop it from being a p
MEGAN'S POV My words seemed to throw Austin off balance. He stared at me, blinking rapidly. I could almost hear his heart beating fast. “What do you say, Alpha Austin Sinclair? I thought you wanted to save your little dream girl? I don't have all the time in the world.”“No, absolutely not.” He finally blurted out, to my surprise. My eyes widened in astonishment. “What?” I snapped at him.He shook his head." I said, No. I cannot give up my position in the Wolf's Joint Empire."“Then, we have absolutely nothing to talk about, Mr. Sinclair.”I turned to leave, but Kayla's voice made me turn around. She ran straight to Austin, shedding her usual false tears—nothing new.“Austin, your ex-wife is so cold-hearted. You know how important this eatery is to me, don't you? Just because she's whoring herself to the Alpha Prince, she has succeeded in getting me thrown out of here.” Kayla sniffed pretentiously. I shook my head in disgust. A drama queen will always be a drama queen. Kayla sharply
MEGAN'S POVLucien and I were seated at a fancy restaurant with the piping hot delicacies served in front of us. I sipped the cocktail slowly as he started. “How is your new job treating you? You know you could have just started as the MD?” “I don't want that yet, Lucien. I just started, and I hope it gets better.” I simply uttered, spooning the creamy pasta into my mouth. After a few seconds of silence, with a worried voice, Lucien added. “How are you coping with your ex-husband?”I choked. My gaze went from the plate to Lucien. “He's working as a partner of the company. Of course, I'm there to do my job, which is precisely what I've been doing.”“Megan, if you can't cope with him around you, do not hesitate to tell me. I'll do anything and everything to buy the shares back from him and…” Lucien was determined, but I interrupted him softly. “You don't have to. Austin and I are divorced. Whatever we had was in the past. Now, we're just co-workers or partners in a business place. That
