LOGINMEGAN’S POV
My eyes watered as I sat at the dining table with two plates of piping hot bone soup on the table in front of me while I stared at the divorce papers placed on the table with tear-blurred eyes. My boxes were already packed and standing next to the seat where I sat. This was it. I’m fed up, and I’ve had enough of this humiliation. I gave Austin so many chances, but he threw them all away. Likewise, I shut my eyes tight, and tears rolled down my face. Taking a deep breath, I picked up the pen beside it and signed the papers without a second thought. Then, I heard the car honking and quickly wiped my tears. The door was swung open, and Alpha Austin walked in with Kayla wrapping her hand around his arm. Immediately I heard them giggling and chatting loudly, and I clenched my fist in utter disgust and fury. The moment they stepped in, Austin walked up to me with arched eyebrows. “What the hell, Megan? Where’s the soup I told you to prepare for Kay? Kayla is sick; can’t you be a little compassionate?” His words pierced my chest like a dagger. Anger engulfed me, and I got up from the chair with fury running through my veins while Kayla stood behind Austin with a pretentious, pathetic expression. “You want soup? Fine.” I turned to the table and carried one of the bowls of hot soup. “This one is for me.” I mumbled. Before Alpha Austin, who stared at me perplexed, could say a word, I threw the soup on his face, and Kayla gasped in disbelief. Without hesitation, I grabbed the other plate of soup and poured it on him again, and thought. “This one is for my child.” “Megan, what the hell has gotten into you?” Kayla shrieked as I glared hard at her, and she stepped back in terror. Soaked and shocked, Alpha Austin stared at me in utter disbelief. He would never have thought that I’d do that to him. “Are you out of your damn mind?” “Yes.” I laughed dryly. “I must be out of my mind to ever fall in love with a narcissist like you.” I added with a scoff of disappointment. I picked up the divorce papers that I had already signed and stretched them to him. “We’re done. I want a divorce.” I snapped, and his eyes grew in astonishment and absolute disbelief. “What?” He furrowed his eyebrows, looking confused. Ignoring him, I grabbed the luggage and turned to leave, but I halted and reluctantly turned around. Then I raised my right hand… the mate bond thread appeared on both of our wrists. Tears pricked my eyes, but I quickly blinked them back. He stared at the glowing red thread with narrowed eyes and uttered. “You want a divorce? Because of your little fling?” He scoffed in mockery. “You’re a real piece of work, you know that?” I shook my head in disgust. “I can’t believe I didn’t see that before. Better late than never.” I mumbled. Raising my hand up, I started. “I, Megan Prescott, reject you, Alpha Austin Sinclair of Crescent Moon Pack, as my mate and Alpha. From this day forward, our bond is shattered.” “Oh, my… Luna, you shouldn’t. I mean, the Alpha…” Kayla stuttered. I could see excitement gleaming in her eyes. Hence, I uttered those words with tears brimming in my eyes. Instantly, the thread vanished, and Austin groaned. His eyes grew wide. He probably couldn’t believe that I could reject him. “You dare reject me? Do you have any idea what you’re doing?” I retorted angrily, but I ignored him, and he continued with a smug smirk. “Oh, Megan. How would you even survive without me? You’re just a poor housewife. You’re nothing without me. No money, no status… nothing. Don’t be too hard on yourself. Just sit here quietly and continue being my wife and the Luna of this pack.” Three years—for three years I hoped I could win his love. I wished he would smile at me even for a second, but right now, the sight of his smug face irritated me. “You will regret this, Megan.” His cold voice smacked me out of my deep thoughts as I dropped the papers on the table and grabbed my luggage again. “Just sign the papers, Austin, and we’re over.” With that, I stormed out of the mansion, dragging my luggage along with me. Austin quickly ran after me, but Kayla grabbed his arm with pleading eyes. “Alpha…. Let her be. She’ll come back.” He brushed her aside and ran after me. The moment I stepped out of the Crescent Pack’s mansion, I sighted Nate, standing beside the parked Rolls-Royce car. It was drizzling, so as soon as he saw me, he quickly reached for an umbrella and rushed towards me to help me with the luggage. “Thank you, Nate.” I mumbled when he took the boxes, and I rushed into the car. Glaring hard at Alpha Austin, Nate turned off the umbrella and handed it to one of the bodyguards before entering the car, and we zoomed off. From the tinted glass of the car, I stared at the man I once loved more than my life—the man I left behind my inheritance, vast wealth, and unparalleled bloodline just to be his Luna. The man I wished could hold me in his arms with a warm smile. “Stop the car.” I ordered, and Nate’s eyes narrowed as the driver halted immediately. Without hesitation, I rolled down the car’s door glass and dragged off my neck the ring that I had worn around my neck for 3 years. I threw it out of the car window, and it rolled straight to Austin’s feet. “Goodbye, Alpha Austin.” I mouthed as I pressed the button, and the car window rolled up again; then the car zoomed off. Austin stared in absolute shock as the umbrella he was holding fell freely from his hand. “So this is why you want a divorce?” He mumbled as his hair and face were getting drenched. As soon as the car sped off, he roared loudly at me. “MEGAN!” But it was too late. It's too late for him to reciprocate my love for him.MEGAN’S POVMy eyes watered as I sat at the dining table with two plates of piping hot bone soup on the table in front of me while I stared at the divorce papers placed on the table with tear-blurred eyes. MEGAN’S POVI slowly opened my weak eyes and saw that I was in the hospital. My head ached. How the hell did I get here? I remembered calling for help, but I don’t know if it went through. The door creaked open, drawing my attention to the entrance as the doctor walked in. “Luna Megan, you’re lucky. A man and a maid had you rushed to the hospital just in time.”“My baby…” I gasped, placing my hand on my stomach with tears pricking my eyes. Then, a voice snapped in. “The baby is safe, Meg.” My eyes grew in excitement. Of course, I can never forget that voice. He walked in with plastic bags filled with fruits and freshly made juice. “Nate?” I called out with a wide smile. He dropped the plastic bags and rushed to embrace me. In his arms, I burst into tears. “Luna Megan, your child is safe, and I hope this is the last time something like this happens. You need to rest because you lost a lot of blood.” The doctor continued before leaving while I nodded slowly. Disengaging the hug, N
MEGAN’S POVThat night felt like a year. All I did was lie on my back, staring at the ceiling blankly. I waited and hoped that Austin would come back to bed, but he didn’t. Instead, my phone chimed, and I quickly picked it up. A video message popped up on my phone, and I quickly opened it. “Hey, Luna. Look, Austin is sleeping so peacefully wrapped in my arms. Don’t mind so much; we’ve always been like this. He just can’t sleep well without being in my arms like a baby.” Kayla’s annoying laughter brought hot tears brimming in my eyes. The sight of my ‘dear’ husband fast asleep in her arms made my heart ache. He left me in the cold and went to sleep in her arms. I’m his Luna, his mate, but he would throw me out without a second thought once it has to do with Kayla. I quickly shut the phone and dropped it on the table, sniffing hard as tears rolled down my cheeks. Another message popped up on my phone; this time it was just a picture. Kayla was dressed in a bikini, kissing Austin’s c
MEGAN’S POVThe next day, I woke up very early as usual. Not minding the fact that my dear husband didn’t return to bed last night. I hoped, and tried to convince myself, that he was just her childhood friend and that’s all. Patting my stomach, I smiled softly. I’m sure that once I tell him that I’m pregnant, he would surely be happy, and then our family can be together again. With that, I stirred the prawn sauce while the servants aided me with the cooking. For the past three years, I’ve always made breakfast for my husband and the household. In fact, anything that makes him happy, even if it’s inconvenient for me, I’d always do it for him. After cooking, I had the food served on the dining table with a wide smile. A few minutes later, I was already seated and waiting for Austin when I heard the laughter and chatting coming from the stairs area. I didn’t bother to stare, because I knew it was them. The moment I raised my eyes, I saw Kayla with her arm wrapped around my husband's
MEGAN’S POVThe next morning, I was seated at the dining table, having omelette and cheese sandwiches for breakfast while my mind wandered. I was restless—my husband didn’t come back last night. Not only did the anniversary cuisine I made specially for him go bad and get trashed, he didn’t even remember that yesterday was our third-year anniversary. Even if we’re married, I still felt lonely and sad, but I always hoped that he would notice me or even smile at me. My phone beeped, and I reluctantly picked it up. It was a message; I quickly opened it and read it. “Ma’am, the money you requested has been transferred to Crescent Moon Pack’s company, and we already offered them a 2 billion dollar contract. Everything was done anonymously without revealing your identity.” My lips curled into a smile.“Thank you.” I typed it and sent it back. Then, I rubbed my tummy softly and mouthed. “Baby, your daddy and the pack will no longer go bankrupt.”Just then, I heard the blaring sound of Austi
MEGAN’S POVMy eyes gleamed with excitement as I kept staring at the pregnancy test results. The joy I felt knew no bounds. I was finally pregnant for my beloved husband, Alpha Austin. I was going to break the good news to him tonight over dinner—it’s our anniversary today. Placing the result on the table, I reached for the cooking apron and wore it. “Three years of being his Luna and wife. Austin has always dreamt of this moment… our pup.” I rubbed my stomach tenderly. He had always liked strawberry-flavored cakes… they’re his favorite. “My Luna, are you sure you want to bake by yourself? We can do that if it pleases you.” Miss Adeline, one of the servants tried to stop me. However, I shook my head in disagreement. “No… I’ll bake the cake. Since our marriage three years ago, I’ve always baked him strawberry cakes for our anniversary dinners.” I replied, suddenly my countenance changed, and I mumbled. “Even though he rarely shows up or eats the cakes that I’ve been baking.”Hopefu
