MEGAN’S POV

My eyes watered as I sat at the dining table with two plates of piping hot bone soup on the table in front of me while I stared at the divorce papers placed on the table with tear-blurred eyes. My boxes were already packed and standing next to the seat where I sat.

This was it. I’m fed up, and I’ve had enough of this humiliation. I gave Austin so many chances, but he threw them all away. Likewise, I shut my eyes tight, and tears rolled down my face. Taking a deep breath, I picked up the pen beside it and signed the papers without a second thought.

Then, I heard the car honking and quickly wiped my tears. The door was swung open, and Alpha Austin walked in with Kayla wrapping her hand around his arm.

Immediately I heard them giggling and chatting loudly, and I clenched my fist in utter disgust and fury. The moment they stepped in, Austin walked up to me with arched eyebrows. “What the hell, Megan? Where’s the soup I told you to prepare for Kay? Kayla is sick; can’t you be a little compassionate?” His words pierced my chest like a dagger.

Anger engulfed me, and I got up from the chair with fury running through my veins while Kayla stood behind Austin with a pretentious, pathetic expression. “You want soup? Fine.”

I turned to the table and carried one of the bowls of hot soup. “This one is for me.” I mumbled. Before Alpha Austin, who stared at me perplexed, could say a word, I threw the soup on his face, and Kayla gasped in disbelief.

Without hesitation, I grabbed the other plate of soup and poured it on him again, and thought. “This one is for my child.”

“Megan, what the hell has gotten into you?” Kayla shrieked as I glared hard at her, and she stepped back in terror.

Soaked and shocked, Alpha Austin stared at me in utter disbelief. He would never have thought that I’d do that to him. “Are you out of your damn mind?”

“Yes.” I laughed dryly. “I must be out of my mind to ever fall in love with a narcissist like you.” I added with a scoff of disappointment. I picked up the divorce papers that I had already signed and stretched them to him.

“We’re done. I want a divorce.” I snapped, and his eyes grew in astonishment and absolute disbelief.

“What?” He furrowed his eyebrows, looking confused.

Ignoring him, I grabbed the luggage and turned to leave, but I halted and reluctantly turned around. Then I raised my right hand… the mate bond thread appeared on both of our wrists. Tears pricked my eyes, but I quickly blinked them back.

He stared at the glowing red thread with narrowed eyes and uttered. “You want a divorce? Because of your little fling?” He scoffed in mockery.

“You’re a real piece of work, you know that?” I shook my head in disgust. “I can’t believe I didn’t see that before. Better late than never.” I mumbled.

Raising my hand up, I started. “I, Megan Prescott, reject you, Alpha Austin Sinclair of Crescent Moon Pack, as my mate and Alpha. From this day forward, our bond is shattered.”

“Oh, my… Luna, you shouldn’t. I mean, the Alpha…” Kayla stuttered. I could see excitement gleaming in her eyes.

Hence, I uttered those words with tears brimming in my eyes. Instantly, the thread vanished, and Austin groaned. His eyes grew wide. He probably couldn’t believe that I could reject him.

“You dare reject me? Do you have any idea what you’re doing?” I retorted angrily, but I ignored him, and he continued with a smug smirk. “Oh, Megan. How would you even survive without me? You’re just a poor housewife. You’re nothing without me. No money, no status… nothing. Don’t be too hard on yourself. Just sit here quietly and continue being my wife and the Luna of this pack.”

Three years—for three years I hoped I could win his love. I wished he would smile at me even for a second, but right now, the sight of his smug face irritated me.

“You will regret this, Megan.” His cold voice smacked me out of my deep thoughts as I dropped the papers on the table and grabbed my luggage again. “Just sign the papers, Austin, and we’re over.”

With that, I stormed out of the mansion, dragging my luggage along with me. Austin quickly ran after me, but Kayla grabbed his arm with pleading eyes. “Alpha…. Let her be. She’ll come back.”

He brushed her aside and ran after me. The moment I stepped out of the Crescent Pack’s mansion, I sighted Nate, standing beside the parked Rolls-Royce car.

It was drizzling, so as soon as he saw me, he quickly reached for an umbrella and rushed towards me to help me with the luggage.

“Thank you, Nate.” I mumbled when he took the boxes, and I rushed into the car.

Glaring hard at Alpha Austin, Nate turned off the umbrella and handed it to one of the bodyguards before entering the car, and we zoomed off.

From the tinted glass of the car, I stared at the man I once loved more than my life—the man I left behind my inheritance, vast wealth, and unparalleled bloodline just to be his Luna. The man I wished could hold me in his arms with a warm smile.

“Stop the car.” I ordered, and Nate’s eyes narrowed as the driver halted immediately.

Without hesitation, I rolled down the car’s door glass and dragged off my neck the ring that I had worn around my neck for 3 years. I threw it out of the car window, and it rolled straight to Austin’s feet. “Goodbye, Alpha Austin.” I mouthed as I pressed the button, and the car window rolled up again; then the car zoomed off.

Austin stared in absolute shock as the umbrella he was holding fell freely from his hand.

“So this is why you want a divorce?” He mumbled as his hair and face were getting drenched.

As soon as the car sped off, he roared loudly at me. “MEGAN!”

But it was too late. It's too late for him to reciprocate my love for him.

MEGAN'S POV I held onto my head as I felt my eyes closing. My vision was blurry. “What did you do to me?”He cackled mischievously and sat down with his legs crossed. “Drink wasn't the only surprise tonight. Of course, I know you would find out that the drink was drugged.” Then, he pointed at the incense burner on the table, and I breathed heavily, trying hard to keep my eyes open. “That…. I already took the antidote, so it won't affect me or anyone in this room except you, Miss Prescott.” He laughed maliciously. “You're…. You're evil and don't deserve to live.” I managed to speak because I was almost losing my voice. He roared with laughter like I had just given him a compliment. “There's no need to act tough, Miss Prescott. Don't worry, I'll go gentle with you. Look at you now.” He snapped his finger, and everyone in the room left instantly. In the twinkle of an eye, the room became empty. Bending closer to me, he ran his fingers all over my body. “You look like a helpless litt

MEGAN'S POV I sat on the chair facing the desktop on the table, lost in thought and staring blankly at the screen of the computer. Then came a faint knock on the door of my office. I didn't even realize that the door of the office was swung open until Claire tapped the table and I blinked hard, turning to her. “Y… Yes?”“Miss Prescott, are you okay? You look lost, and that's bad for work.” She chipped in. I forced a smile. “It's nothing. How may I help you?” “Oh, you don't need to help me because you'll be needing a lot of that help for yourself.” She jokingly snapped. “I mean, as the project manager, you'll have to meet with Mr. Davison. He's quite a difficult man to please. You'll need him to sign, and then we can proceed with the other facilities.” She tried to sound caring, but in the real sense, it felt like she was mocking me.“Mr. Davison?” I mouthed with my eyes rolling. “Get me an appointment with him.” I readily replied, and she smiled mischievously.Picking up the files

AUSTIN'S POVI walked into the store, and Kayla rushed to me with wide arms and a beaming smile. “Oh, Austin. How sweet of you! You spoil me so much. Thank you for buying the entire store for me. You really…” She ran her hands from my chest down to my stomach. “You really didn't have to.” Immediately, I stared hard at her with arched eyebrows. “What are you talking about?” I pushed her hand away. “Who said I bought you anything?”Megan stared at both of us with an expressionless glare as she clutched my shoulder bag. The second saleslady chuckled nervously and started. “Uhm… Alpha, you said you bought the store for your wife. I naturally assumed… I mean, I saw you both.” She pointed at Austin and Kayla while talking. “I've seen you both on TV together, so she must be your wife, right?”“This is ridiculous!” Megan shook her head as she turned to leave, but I grabbed her arm. “No, Megan. You're my wife.”For a second, she became numb. After a few minutes of silence, she turned around

ALICE'S POV I drove into the mall and parked the car in the garage. Kayla and I walked into the mall laughing and chatting. However, our laughter was cut short the moment we sighted Megan shopping in the clothes section. Kayla scoffed in disgust as she cleared her throat noisily to get Megan's attention. Megan turned slightly with her face indifferent. “Oh, look who we have here. I wonder how many times you had to spread your legs to be able to afford that.” She pointed at the dress Megan was holding. Ignoring her, Megan rolled her eyes and proceeded to take out another dress from the display shelf. Furious, Kayla grabbed her arm rudely. “Hey. I'm talking to you.” “She thinks she can buy a discount dress at a luxury store.” I taunted, staring hatefully at her. Kayla and I laughed loudly. “And pretend to be a socialite.” I added.Kayla shook her head in a feign of pity. “You know what? It's actually kind of sad. You can put lipstick on a pig, but that doesn't stop it from being a p

MEGAN'S POV My words seemed to throw Austin off balance. He stared at me, blinking rapidly. I could almost hear his heart beating fast. “What do you say, Alpha Austin Sinclair? I thought you wanted to save your little dream girl? I don't have all the time in the world.”“No, absolutely not.” He finally blurted out, to my surprise. My eyes widened in astonishment. “What?” I snapped at him.He shook his head." I said, No. I cannot give up my position in the Wolf's Joint Empire."“Then, we have absolutely nothing to talk about, Mr. Sinclair.”I turned to leave, but Kayla's voice made me turn around. She ran straight to Austin, shedding her usual false tears—nothing new.“Austin, your ex-wife is so cold-hearted. You know how important this eatery is to me, don't you? Just because she's whoring herself to the Alpha Prince, she has succeeded in getting me thrown out of here.” Kayla sniffed pretentiously. I shook my head in disgust. A drama queen will always be a drama queen. Kayla sharply

MEGAN'S POVLucien and I were seated at a fancy restaurant with the piping hot delicacies served in front of us. I sipped the cocktail slowly as he started. “How is your new job treating you? You know you could have just started as the MD?” “I don't want that yet, Lucien. I just started, and I hope it gets better.” I simply uttered, spooning the creamy pasta into my mouth. After a few seconds of silence, with a worried voice, Lucien added. “How are you coping with your ex-husband?”I choked. My gaze went from the plate to Lucien. “He's working as a partner of the company. Of course, I'm there to do my job, which is precisely what I've been doing.”“Megan, if you can't cope with him around you, do not hesitate to tell me. I'll do anything and everything to buy the shares back from him and…” Lucien was determined, but I interrupted him softly. “You don't have to. Austin and I are divorced. Whatever we had was in the past. Now, we're just co-workers or partners in a business place. That
