Chapter 3

Nina's pov

Nina woke up and tried to remember what happened last night but she could not remember anything. She stood up from the bed and went to look for Damon. She could hear some noise from the kitchen but she knew the maid was not here today.

She saw Damon half naked only in his pants and without making a sound she kept looking. "You can take a picture if you want" Damon  suddenly said. Nina's cheeks flushed with embarrassment. No matter how much time she has spent with Damon, she always becomes flustered when Damon becomes playful.

"What are you doing? " she asked him.

" I'm making some yummy pancakes, we're going to have breakfast together" he said.

Nina didn't said anything because she was so surprised, it's been so long since they had breakfast together. Actually the last time they had breakfast together, they had a fight on the table. That day "Oh okay"  was all she said.

Flashback (To the fight they had on table)

Nina could feel that her marriage was not alright. Damon had started acting really weird. He spent most of the time in his office. And even the days when he came home, he would come really late at night when Nina fell asleep and Nina would wake up he would still be asleep. Nina really didnt had the heart to wake him up. But when he woke up he would immediately, go back to office again and give Nina some kind of excuse. Nina was really sick of all the lack of communication between them. So, she decided that today she would finally talk to him. Tell him about how she feels becasue she really felt like she was living with a stranger. So, she went to his office hoping that she would finally be able to talk to him there.

When Nina went to his office, she was shocked to find that Damon was not in the office. His secratery told Nina that he doesn't have any idea where Damon could be but before he left the office, he ordered his secratery not to bother him with calls. Nina was dealing with so many feelings at that moment. Her heart was telling her that maybe Damon is somewhere attending an important business but her brain was telling her otherwise. And her brain was defeinitely making for sense. But could Damon really cheat on her, Nina thought but immediately erased the idea as she kept telling herself that Damon would never step so low.

From office she straight came home. It was late evening when Damon finally came home. Nina didnt say word to him. She silently served him food and started eating from her own plate. Suddenly Damon spoke up "Why did you go to the office today?"

"I dont think you should be the one to question me here" Nina answred.

"What do you mean?" Damon asked.

"Oh, so you really dont know huh?" Nina said as she looked at him with furious eyes.

"I had an imporant meeting with someone and I didnt want anything to bother me thats why I told my secratery to not call me" Damon told Nina.

"Stop lying Damon, its not just today, its about everyday, you are never home, you are never with me. Do you not see what our marriage has become?" Nina asked Damon as tears escaped from both of her eyes.

"You are misunderstanding me Nina, I still love you alright, I marriage is still okay, I promise" Damon said.

"How can this look okay to you. How can you not see this? Please damon dont do this to me, dont do this to our marriage" Nina said.

"Nina just calm down, please. As I said, its not what you think it is" Damon tried to explain.

"Then you tell me what is it. I am really trying here to understand you Damon, I really am but I see no effort from your end. All I am seeing is our marriage crumbling right before my eyes" Nina said.

"Thats enough Nina, nothing is wrong with our marriage. Its just all in your mind, stop thinking so much" Damon said now with an angry voice.

Nina didnt say anything anymore, she was truly tired, she was tired from pretending that everything was okay but she cannoy do it anymore. She just gave Damon a last look and left the table. That Night Damon again got out of the house making Nina all alone once again. Nina hated this lonliness more than anything. Before she met Damon, her life was so lonely as she grew up in an orphanage. But once she met Damon, all her lonliness had gone away. But now after marriage she feels like she is again drowning in the lonliness, again trying to breath out from the poisonous water.

Damon really had some good cooking skills, the pancake was so yummy but the atmosphere around them was a little awkward. Damon kept looking at Nina as if he wanted to say something. Nina looked at Damon and raised her eyebrows. "umm Nina you should eat more, you've lost weight" he said. Nina was again so surprised coz it's been so long since Damon said anything about her. She kept silent.  The breakfast was silent after that.

After some Damon left the house. Nina was all alone. She kept thinking about the breakfast. Damon almost sounded concerned about her. Maybe there was still some hope in their relationship, she thought happily.

Nina looked at herself in the mirror. She was wearing a beautiful purple sun dress and had some pink lip gloss in her lips. She was going to the bookstore to buy some books, she always loved to read books specially romance novels but after all this complications started with Damon she stopped reading books and started drinking because it helped to forget her sorrows. But now Nina understood that she needed to get out of her addiction.
