Chapter 4

Nina was in the bookstore choosing some books when a girl suddenly hugged her so tight and screamed "oh my God, Nina is this really you?"

The girl looked familiar but Nina could not recognize her. "Yes I am Nina, I'm sorry but do I know you?"

"of course you know me I'm Rihanna you idiot, how can you not recognize me? "the girl said.

Then Nina suddenly remembered her,  she was no other that Rihanna Anderson. Rihanna was a really good friend in her college life but somehow their friendship didn't last long.

Nina was embarrassed of herself, how could she not recognize her. "I'm really sorry, it's just I haven't seen you in a long time" she said shyly.

"oh it's okay but tell me what are you doing here, you still have the same love for books huh? " Rihanna asked.

And that's how Nina ended spending the whole day with Rihanna. She was still a very fun person just like the college days. They talked about so many things and shopped together. Rihanna was constantly asking about Damon and how their relationship was now. She said that she was shocked that damon let Nina come alone to a bookstore and laughed recalling how during college days, Damon would never let Nina go to the library alone because he believed that boys try to flirt with Nina more when she is alone at the library. Nina just said that everything was fine she didnt dare to tell Nina about how much Damon has changed now. She just pretended that she was happy with Damon just like she was in the past. Nina realized that she really needed some friends. It's been so long since she had a friend. Nina was really enjoying her time now.

It was getting dark so Nina bade her goodbye to Nina and started for home. Nina didn't take the driver with her. She always liked to drive on her own. Also, she knew that Damon gets mad whenever he gets to know that Nina is driving alone. Damon always commands her to take the driver with her. But Nina enjoys driving on her own. But in the past she always took the driver just so that Damon wouldnt be mad. But today she felt like she wanted to make damon mad, she wamnted him to go crazy and feel the insanity that she feels when he ignores her.

Suddenly the car stopped. The engine went off. Nina felt her eart beat drop. It was dark outside and there was no other car on the road. Nina tried to keep herself calm and got of the car to check. When she opened the bonnet she saw hot smoke coming out of the engine,. it seemed like that the engine was too hot and she couldn't even touch it. The car was very old but it was her favorite cuz it was her mother's car. It always reminded of the comfort she had near her mother. So, no matter how many cars Damon owned, Nina always used this one.

Nina looked around her but saw no one.  This road was always the silent one. She took her phone and called Damon but he wasn't answering. Nina cursedin her mind as she realized that he was probably with a girl now. She called him 9 more times and every time no one picked up. Nina took a gulp in fear. Her phones battery was showing low and she knew it would go off any second now. She cursed her luck and called Damon again "please Damon pick it up" she prayed. But Damon didn't. Suddenly she remembered that she had his office number. So she did her last try.

"Hello " Nina thanked God when she heard voice on the other side of the phone.

" hello who is this? " the person on the line asked.

" umm I'm Nina....Nina Salvatore Damon's wife.  Can you give the phone to him it's very important" she said in one breath.

"oh I'm sorry madam but sir is not in the office he left early today" the person said.

"actually my cars engine die- "Before she could finish  her phone went off.

It was so dark now Nina looked at her hand watch and saw that it was almost 11 pm. She has been sitting by the side of her car for 3 hours now.  She was feeling upset, cold, angry and lastly very hungry. But most importantly she was feeling helpless because she knew that this is her life now. She felt like now she has no one. After both of her parents death, Damon was her everything. He had become the pillar for her. He was always there to protect her no matter what. But now, she has lost her pillar, there is no one to protect her now, no one tp care for her. She knew that she has become a burden on him now. SDhe knew that Damon was with his mistress now, she wondered if he is protecting his mistress the same way he had been protecting her. She couldn't help but feel bad. A tear fell down from her eye as she looked at her wedding ring. Weirdly she could feel some warmth coming off the ring. She knew she was hallucinating becausse her heart and soul was desperate for some warmth. She was almost shivering now.  It was too cold. She closed her eyes and tried to imagine Damon in front of her. She imagined him giving her his million dollar smile for which Nina fell for him. She saw him coming closer to her and giving her a sweet and slow kiss on her cheeks. But suddenly she saw Damon kissing another girl on the cheek instead of kissing her. Nina jerked her eyes open. Yes she was hallucinating again.

Suddenly she could see a light. The light was too powerful for her fragile eyes. So, she tried to cover her eyes with the palm of her hands but her hands felt too heavy to move. It took her a moment to realize that the light was actually coming from a car. The car stopped in front of her and she saw a familiar figure running towards her. Thats the last thing she saw becasue after that everything went black.
