Part Forty-Four.

The party was over and Beatrice could finally breathe. It had been crazy meeting Santiago like that, but she guessed she would have had to meet him sometime later.

“See you tomorrow,” she said when they got to her apartment building and she got off. He didn't bother to tell her bye or act all cocky like he usually did, and that hurt her for some reason.

He was probably still angry at the presence of Mr. Santiago, but there was nothing she could do about that. She turned around to go in, and she pressed her door code when she got to her apartment.

“Ah, you scared me!!” She uttered the moment she saw Mia in her house and Mia stared back at her startled too.

“Did you then have to shout like that?”

“Why not? An intruder came into my house.”

“What is all this, by the way?” She pointed to the bags, and Beatrice tried to avoid the conversation.

“Did you cook anything?”

“Hmm, hmm, no, no, no, you aren't escaping this,” she was in her pajamas, which told Beatrice she was going to be staying ov
