KELLAN

“You were drugged, sir. It was part of his plan. He wanted to set you up with someone he hired then take pictures of you and post them at the perfect time.” I stared at my secretary as he broke the news to me.

“And you are sure about this?” I questioned.

“Yes, sir. My source confirmed this. You were drugged.” he replied and I exhaled heavily, clenching my fist.

“You know this is bad, right? I was with someone that night but I can't remember anything. If this person realizes who I am, they will use it to their advantage and I can't let that happen, not now that I am trying to fix things.” I replied and he nodded.

“I am aware sir. I will try to find her and pay her off but we should be grateful he failed. You didn't sleep with who he hired.”

“That doesn't make it any better!” I raised my voice and he flinched.

“I can't even remember what happened that night clearly so how the hell do you want to find her? You know how bad they want to get rid of me, if this gets out then everything I have been working for these past months will be over!” I yelled.

“If you were doing your job properly, I wouldn't have been at that bar in the first place, not to mention being drugged!” I added, raising my voice and he bowed.

“I’m sorry, sir. I promise to fix this.” he apologized but I ignored him.

“Yeah, get the fuck out,” I ordered tiredly as I turned to the table and poured a drink.

“But sir… “

“I said get out!” I snapped and threw the glass at the wall, shattering it. He flinched and rushed out of the suite.

I breathed heavily and ran my hands through my hair.

The one time I decided to make a difference, I am about to fuck it all up again just because of a night.

A night I could barely remember, all that is in my head are little images. I could still hear her cries and I was sure I hurt her.

She was crying so badly. If this gets out, I will lose everything again. The reputation I am trying to build and my position in the family. Once again, I will be the family’s failure.

Despite all this, I am sure I saw a birthmark on her chest. It was like a burn scar but it was a birthmark. I am sure of that, I can remember that.

I scoffed at how dumb I sounded. Millions of people has birth marks.

I loosened the buttons on my shirt, feeling choked. I needed air, I am losing my shit. I headed out of my suite and decided to go to the lounge.

“What the fuck?” I mumbled, seeing the reporters at a corner as I stepped out of the elevator. The hotel must be busy today.

To avoid drama with the reporters, I decided to pass through the hall.

Out of the blue, I felt someone pull me and before I could blink, she pulled me towards a bride and a groom.

“This is him, this is my boyfriend.” the lady said and squeezed my hand.

I furrowed my brows a little. What the fuck is going on?

The bride and groom looked shocked, as did I and everyone in the room.

“Yes, my boyfriend,” she said again, and placed her head on my arm and I stared down at her.

What the hell is this?

I was about to pull away when she started talking.

Her hands were trembling so badly and I looked at the bride and the groom. Does she have no dignity? Lying?

She is nothing like the girl I had a night with a week ago, who the hell sleeps with a stranger and leaves a twenty-dollar bill?

And why can't I stop thinking about her?

“Oh, you look shocked. Did you not believe me?” she chuckled.

“He is my boyfriend, my love and I mean everything to him,” she added and reporters started taking pictures, and everyone with a phone started going live.

Of course, reporters will take pictures, I am Kellan Torrington!

I know this is bad and I needed to do something.

Again, I tried to pull away but that was when she decided to speak. For some reason, I listened.

“Want to know the best part of this? We are getting married in a week and we are going to have a huge wedding. Every celebrity in the city will be invited and you both are invited too.” she said with a smile and I couldn't help but stare at her.

She is crazy!

What the fuck? Who the hell lies like this? Not even the devil can tell such a lie! Who lies more than the devil?

Does she not see the cameras?

“So everyone should look forward to this because I have the perfect man.” she giggled.

“Right babe?” she asked and finally looked at me but looked away immediately. She squeezed my hand so hard, I was sure her fingerprints were on my hand.

Everyone was staring at me, waiting for a response.

The problem wasn't denying this, the problem was the number of reporters and cameras in the room. This will end up being nothing either way, I can easily call her an obsessed fan so it will go away.

Besides, she should be ready to face the consequences of her actions. Someone telling such a lie will know the outcome so I decided to play along.

“Yes,” I replied and she sighed in relief but hurriedly smiled.

Cameras flashed and she seemed to have finally gained consciousness of her surroundings. She finally saw the crowd.

“That will be all, come on babe.” she rushed her words and pulled me out of the hall, I just followed.

“Oh my God, thank you so much.” she exhaled heavily and let go of my hand and before I could speak, she did. She talks a lot.

“Hmm, how much do I have to pay you? Twenty dollars? Do you take coupons? There is this great coupon I have for a chicken spot. Do you want one?” she asked, stretching everything in her purse to me and I stared at her in disbelief.

Is she being serious? Me? Twenty dollars? A chicken coupon? Kellan Torrington?

I paused for a moment as I recalled that night again. I found a twenty-dollar bill next to me when I woke up a week ago. At that moment, I zoned out and started to think about a lot of things.

What the hell happened that made her give me a twenty-dollar bill?

“Hey, Mr?” she called, snapping me out of my thoughts and I raised my brows.

“What? How much do you want?” she asked and I scoffed again, finding it ridiculous.

I wanted to hear an apology for the shit she just pulled but she doesn't look like she wants to.

Instead of being on her knees she is offering me a fucking chicken coupon and twenty dollars!

“Do you know who I am?” I asked and she raised her brows and sighed.

“No. Do you want the chicken coupon or not?”

What the fuck? Who the hell is this?
