4. Chapter Four.

In the hours since I was caught, it has been challenging to accept the existence of vampires. The transition of the once-fictional world of fairytales into reality would require some getting accustomed to.

I hadn't even had a chance to reflect. I questioned if I was being sought after. I questioned whether Liam missed me. Although it wasn't all sunshine and flowers, that was the life I knew and in some ways missed.

I wish I wasn't in a situation where my life was now in the control of vampires and that it was just me.

What sense does it make to be taken as a damsel in distress and sent to a castle to be a pet? Some people might anticipate a prince charming to greet them, but not me, instead I got blood sucking Vampire's that weren't even real until my damsel self got kidnapped.

God damnit!

Luck certainly didn't like the guts of me. I promise I would shoot Liam in the eye if I was to ever get out of this alive.

"Here are your clothes Isabella. First take a shower and then we'll have you ready to see Prince Salvatore." Catherine ushered me.

She was the epitome of a supermodel with her strawberry blonde hair flowing to the back of her ass, her pale, slender build, and her blue eyes.

The vampires I had encountered up until this point were pretty attractive and handsome. The majority of these bloodsuckers were vampires, which was sad.

I played with my fingers because I was afraid she might find my comments offensive. There was no way out, therefore I was doomed in any case.

"How can you bear the knowledge that you did everything in your power to eliminate me from my life only to have me cruelly executed because you believe I am unfit to serve as a vampire's pet? I didn't ask to play this role." With courage, I spoke out loud.

"Isabella, I would let you go if I could, but vampires must consume human blood in order to stay alive. We didn't want to kill you. Unfortunately, you are far too knowledgeable and there is no way for you to leave this place without dying." Catherine explained the circumstances.

I started crying again after hearing what she had to say because I was so afraid of what was going to happen. Imagine being aware that your demise was eminently a few minutes away.

"And does Prince Salvatore possess the same ruthlessness as Vince?" Through my tears, I questioned.

"Isabella, you might not come to an end as you think. Try to remain as positive as possible." This time, when she hugged me and stroked my hair, Catherine obviously chose to ignore my query, which only served to support my perspective.

Try to be optimistic about it? I might end up dead and yet I should be optimistic? The only thing that was keeping me optimistic at this point was the thought of escaping.

I collected my things and walked to the bathroom, making certain to lock the door behind me. I debated drowning myself for an hour, but I decided against it after thinking about the fifty-percent chance of survival I would have if the prince had saved my life.

I heard a knock on the door half an hour later. I endeavored everything I could to postpone my hearing, but once Vince threatened to burst the door open, I had no choice but to open it unfortunately.

"I figured you'd committed suicide by drowning." Catherine muttered, evidently not pleased with what I had done.

Unfortunately I couldn't bring myself to it.

"Let's go." Vince addressed walking away.

After a few minutes, I quickly arrived at double doors after carefully trailing the two. These fortresses featured numerous enormous double doors, and I could see that they were all double doors, so I was pretty terrified to really open them and discover what was on the other side.

The luscious cool air I had previously felt enveloped me into its sweet and joyful arms entranced me once again and I felt a sudden urge to break the damn door down and locate whatever it was that was beckoning me to it.

A few seconds later, Vince pushed the doors wide open as Catherine made her way inside behind him, and I hesitated from going inside despite the strong compelling urges to proceed inside.

I remained there bewildered until the sudden air that had been blowing about me disappeared. I didn't feel anything until Catherine got hold of my hand and dragged me inside the opulent chamber, which was decorated in dark gray with marble floors, a book shelf behind his opulent desk, and gloomy lighting befitting a royal. It was spectacular and fascinating to observe.

When I saw a divinely handsome figure emerge from another door inside the room, I forced myself to exhale. With a sculpted jawline, tall stature, soul-piercing honey-glazed eyes, a sharp, pointed nose, and tempting red lips, he exuded strength. His long, curling dark brown hair, which was expertly parted to the side of his face, gave him the appearance of looking much younger and wiser, and his slightly massed body as he walked with elegant strides.

The man was a truly fascinated and alluring sight to behold. A notable man deserving of respect and admiration. My gaze was initially drawn to the lovely scowl on his sweetly adorned red lips before tracing downward to his tattooed flesh beneath his superbly tailored suit, which was worn with a black coat as if he were a professor.

My god.

Whoever created this man undoubtedly invested a lot of their valuable time on him. I was on the verge of curling up into his powerful arms and letting him pet me like a pet.

I blushed and glanced aside after realizing that my behavior was obvious, and that I had been unconsciously admiring the tall, gorgeous stature before me.

"My time is of the essence Malone. Please proceed with the matter at hand." My body was almost taken away by the seductive voice of Prince Salvatore as my body reverberated in absolute joy.

"I'm unable to read or hear the thoughts of my pet in which case only a witch is able to posses such abilities and only a Royal blood is able to cipher if the girl is a threat and is in anyway associated with witches. I was hoping to have your expertise on this matter, Master." Vince addressed.

Vince was no longer in my line of sight when I turned to stare at the Prince, who was staring at me with nothing but contempt and anger, as though his eyes could burn my flesh into a million pieces.

Knowing this was undoubtedly a terrible sign, I immediately took a cautious step back. I averted my eyes because I couldn't stand the hateful glare that was directed at me.

Fearfully, I bit my lower lip as Prince Salvatore's steely eyes watched this small movement. My eyes swelled up with tears, so I turned aside and squeezed them shut while my heart beat horribly against my chest.

It was Catherine who was standing in the way of my ability to flee when I felt my back contact something.

"The girl poses no threat at all." My tear-filled eyes suddenly opened to face Salvatore's brave ones as he gave advice.

"But, how is it possible that we weren't able to read her thoughts at that point? What is she if she is not a witch or is affiliated with one? Is she a human? Has something like this occurred before? This can't be a good thing, I suppose. Who knows what the Royal court will think? How should we handle her Prince Salvatore?" Vince exhibited a conflicted expression that was a mix of relief and confusion.

Taking his harden gaze off me Prince Salvatore turn to answer Vince, "Oversee to it that the girl is kept alive, and this matter is to remain solely between whoever is in this room." Vince's questions were completely disregarded as Salvatore spoke sternly.

"But Mast-"

"You may now leave." Vince was abruptly cut off by Salvatore, leaving no time for conversation.

I gave the prince, who was still glaring at me, one more look as we were about to leave. His look left me feeling dejected, as if I were being thrown into a deep abyss but yet something desperately wanted to stay.

Before we all had exited the door the prince spoke once more, "The female is to remain unclaimed." His voice rang as the door shut in my face.

I sighed feeling drained and relieved at today's outcome. Though I would once again be able to preserve my life, I couldn't quite understand the overwhelming need to see the dangerous and terrifyingly handsome Vampire prince once which was overwhelming me beyond all comprehension.
