Liora’s Point of View

The door clicked behind me, and I stood in the hallway, numb.

But it didn’t take long. Seconds, maybe. Before my vision blurred and the warmth in my chest spread like wildfire through my throat. I blinked hard. Then again. But the tears came anyway, and I had no strength left to stop them.

Draven’s voice still echoed in my ears.

"You're polluting the room with your stench."

Every word felt like glass in my lungs.

I moved on instinct, walking through the hallway with no real destination. Just needing to be far from him. Far from the suffocating walls of that room. My bare feet made no sound against the polished floors, but inside me, a storm raged loud and merciless.

My hands trembled at my sides, and I clutched the hem of my dress to keep them from showing. But I couldn’t stop my shoulders from shaking. Couldn’t stop the ache that clawed up my throat until my lips parted and a sob slipped free.

And that’s when I saw him.

Lucas.

He was leaning against the wall, ar

It was Luna. I turned slowly to face her, trying to keep my face neutral, but I knew I looked like hell. The wind had tangled my hair, and my eyes were swollen from crying. She saw all of it. Saw right through me like always.“I just needed some air,” I said softly, unable to meet her eyes. She glanced past me, toward the trees behind the pack house. “He’s looking for you, Liora.”My heart stuttered.Luna stepped forward, lowering her voice. “And he’s mad. Real mad. He asked for you twice already, then broke a whiskey glass when no one answered.”I swallowed hard, pulse thundering in my ears. “Did… did he ask where I went?”“No. But it won’t take him long to figure it out.” Her gaze sharpened. “Especially if he catches even a trace of another wolf on you.”It’s Lucas. I stepped back instinctively, the panic clawing up my throat. My eyes darted to the hallway, to the doors, the staircase anywhere he might appear.“Luna…” My voice cracked. “You have to help me.”“I’m already helping you

  • His to Break: The Biker Alpha's Hated Mate   CHAPTER TWENTY FIVE

Draven’s Point of ViewI wanted to drown in the bottle. To empty it down my fucking throat until I couldn’t think, couldn’t feel. Until her face stopped bleeding into every corner of my mind. I didn’t want this.I didn’t want her.I poured another glass of wine, sloshing it too fast and spilling over the rim. Didn’t care. I didn’t even taste it anymore. Just bitterness. Just heat. Just something to shut up the chaos storming behind my ribs. This wasn’t about jealousy. No. It wasn’t about her soft lips parting when she looked at me like she wanted to be kissed. Or how her voice trembled when she lied and said she was fine. This wasn’t about how she looked at Lucas like he was the only person who gave a damn whether she lived or died. No, fuck no. This was about control. This was about putting the daughter of Alaric Hale in her place beneath me, broken, owned. That’s why I brought her here. That’s why I made her sleep on the damn sofa.So why the fuck couldn’t I stop imagining her in my

Liora’s Point of ViewHis eyes dropped to my lips. I didn’t move and I almost didn’t breathe. His hand lifted halfway like he might touch me, but stopped. His fingers curled into a fist instead, knuckles white and trembling. “Don’t make me lose control,” he said, voice raw, like it scraped from the inside of his chest. The distance hit like a slap. Colder than I expected. “Don’t forget what I said,” he muttered, voice hoarse. “You're here because I allow it.”And just like that, he turned around and walked away.Didn’t look back and didn’t stop. The heavy echo of his boots on the tile was the only thing left of him when he vanished around the corner.I stood there frozen, my arms clenched tight at my sides, everything in me screaming in silence. My chest burned, and my throat ached like I’d swallowed fire but I refused to cry.Not this time.A moment later, soft footsteps came from the hall. Then a gentler voice than his ever was.“Liora,” Luna said softly.I didn’t turn. Not yet. I

My jaw clenched so tight it cracked. That fucking bastard. He was standing way too close. Closer than any man had a right to be near her. His hand moved like he might touch her arm or worse, her face. And that smile… like he knew something I didn’t. Like he thought he had a shot. And she wasn’t flinching. She wasn’t backing away. She was listening to him.My blood boiled. Heat shot up from my ribs like wildfire. My muscles twitched under the bandages barely holding me together. I didn’t care. I’d tear them open again if it meant I could slam my fist through Lucas’s smug face.I pushed forward. My first step wobbled, pain screaming through my body. My arm burned like fire, a sharp reminder of how useless I was right now. I couldn’t even raise my hand without pain shooting down to my fingertips.“Alpha?” a voice called from behind probably one of the guards but I didn’t answer.I kept going.I gripped the stair rail so hard my knuckles went white. Every step felt like thunder pounding i

DRAVEN'S Point of ViewThe moment she knelt to clean the broken glass, I should have looked away. But I didn’t.Liora's hair fell forward, the strands loose and dark, catching light like ink spilled across the floor. Her small fingers moved cautiously, sweeping the shards into her palm with the same care she gave my bandaged arm, too careful, too soft, like I was still worth preserving. Like she hadn’t learned her lesson yet.“Sweetheart,” Ms. Blackwood’s voice cooed beside me, dragging my gaze from the girl who should’ve meant nothing.I turned toward her, jaw clenched tight.“Should I help you back into bed?” she asked, already rising, her hand skimming over my thigh. “You need to rest that shoulder.”I gave a half-nod, and she took that as permission.“Liora,” I barked. My tone dropped like a blade. She flinched.“Leave.”She froze mid-motion, fingers curled around a sliver of glass, still kneeling.“I...” Her lips parted, but no words came.Ms. Blackwood was already pulling me up
