Mia's POV
Just like that, everything happened so fast. I became the Luna of the Moon Tribe pack. I was forced to attend meetings, forced to contribute to affairs, forced to act like someone with so much authority, when I knew that deep down inside of me, I was nothing more than a mere prisoner. Whenever I tried to run away, to plead with Alpha Hades, he would threaten me with the life of my father and my younger sister.
Those were the only two people that I held dearly. Justin was gone, and they were the only ones I had left. Although my father and I were never on good terms, I still cared for him. He always saw me as a pushover, a failure just because I was unable to harness my wolf side. My father was the one who sold me to Justin as a wife. I was forced into a marriage with Justin.
At first, Justin and I had a bitter marriage, but we eventually fell in love with each other. Thinking about him made my heart shatter into pieces, it made me feel extremely guilty. Somehow, I was married to the man that killed him. Deep down, I knew that Justin's spirit was not pleased with me.
My thoughts were interrupted when I saw Jones drag a young girl by the neck down the corridor. She looked tattered, and her eyes were red. I could tell that she was a slave, probably one of the victims of Alpha Hades' ruthless acts.
I felt anger boil in me as I watched Jones hit the young girl aggressively. She looked like a teenager. What could have warranted such a beating from Jones? I knew I could no longer watch Jones harass her. I slowly walked toward them.
Jones halted in his steps. He bowed his head at me in respect and acknowledged my presence. "Luna Mia," he said. One thing I noticed was that Jones treated me with respect, unlike every other person here. He held me in so very high regard, I had to respect him for that too.
"What is going on?" I questioned, pausing to gaze at the girl. Our eyes met and just by staring into her eyes, I could tell how miserable she was. Her entire body shivered in fear, her mouth trembled, and her face was covered with bruises.
"She is one of the captives from the Stone Creek pack," Jones replied. I remembered that Alpha Hades had instructed Jones and some of his other warriors to infiltrate the Stone Creek pack. I always wondered why Alpha Hades did that. His pack was big enough, he had no use for the land of other packs, yet he kept attacking other packs.
It was cruel, and I wanted to tell him that, but I had no courage to. I was afraid of him, just like everyone else was.
"Where are you taking her to?" I asked. "The other captives are in the cell which is in that direction." I pointed in the opposite direction from where Jones was headed to.
He nodded his head slowly. That is correct, Luna. However, she played stubborn and refused to worship Alpha Hades. "He ordered me to throw her into the dungeon where the fiery beasts could eat her alive," Jones blurted out.
My eyes widened in horror. I knew about the dungeon. It was the most dangerous and deadliest prison in the Moon Tribe pack house. I had never been there before, but rumors had it that hungry beasts lurk around that prison, devouring every soul they find.
"That is cruel," I said, shaking my head in disbelief. How could Alpha Hades do such a thing to a poor innocent girl like her? Of course, she found it hard to worship him, but that did not warrant such deadly punishment.
"No," I said in a firm voice. Jones furrowed his brows in confusion at me. "No what?" He raised a brow.
"No, return the girl to the normal cell where the others are," I instructed. I knew I was making a grave mistake by countering Alpha Hades' orders, but I also knew better than to let an innocent girl die. I was willing to take whatever risk just to save her life.
"I am sorry, Luna Mia, I only followed Alpha's orders," Jones said. I sighed heavily and ran a hand through my hair in frustration. I needed to find a way to convince him, something to make him listen to me.
Just give me some minutes to convince Alpha Hades. If he does not listen to me, then you can do whatever he asks you to do. "Just a few minutes, Jones," I said with pleading eyes. I heard Jones sigh in frustration. He nodded his head slowly but strictly reminded me. "Just some minutes, Luna Mia."
I nodded my head in agreement and flashed him a grateful smile. I turned to gaze at the captive girl and I heard her say "Thank you" to me. I felt honoured. I returned her gratitude with a reassuring smile. She suddenly reminded me of my old self.
As I made my way towards Alpha Hades' room where Jones had mentioned he was, I felt anxiety wash over me. My heart raced extremely fast as I slowly approached his room. I finally got to the front door and I contemplated whether to knock or not.
Since Alpha Hades and I were married, we shared the same room, so technically, it was my room too. I chose not to knock.
I slowly pushed the front door open and stepped into the large area. Alpha Hades was lying comfortably on the couch with a book over his face. I knew he could sense my presence because of how a frown grew on his face.
"What do you want"?
"Jump straight to the point." He growled angrily.
"Let the captive girl go! The one who refused to bow to you." I blurted out.
"Who do you think you are?" Alpha Hades fired at me. He rose to his feet and the book fell from his face. Alpha Hades glared at me with a piercing gaze and his next words left me in shock.
"You are just a mere maid that I used to chase the demons away."
Mere maid? Agreed. But most importantly, what did he mean by demons?
Mia's POV""How am I able to do that? "I am a healer just like you. "How come you can not just chase the demons away as well?" I asked Tamara, my brows furrowed in confusion at her. Tamara sighed tiredly, and I was beginning to regret interrupting her sleep. She was a very busy person during the day. She had to attend meetings with other pack healers. She was also an advisor to the Moon Tribe pack members. Tamara was like a mother figure to everyone. Warm and kindhearted. One could have almost mistaken her for the Luna of the pack. Tamara poured herself a glass of water. I watched her gulp the liquid down her throat before joining me on the floor. Not even Hades can explain why you are the only one who can chase the surrounding demons. "It just happened all of a sudden on the first day he met you at the silver pack. "No offense, but that is the only reason why he is keeping you around, because you help him feel peace," Tamara said. Her last statement reminded me of Hades' harsh words
Mia's POV I furrowed my brows in shock and staggered a few steps backward. What was Alpha Hades talking about when he made mention of the demons? What demons was he referring to? Was there something about Alpha Hades that I was yet to know about?I mean, I had always wondered the reason why Alpha Hades had me kidnapped and not killed, like how he had wiped out the rest of my pack members, my husband included. I could not exactly question his reasons for keeping me alive, rather I acted grateful while I dealt with the guilt of my dead husband.I sighed heavily and hastily wiped the drops of tears from my eyes. "What do you mean by I am a mere maid to chase demons?" I asked in a shaky tone. I also did my best to manage my tone so that it would not come off as offensive to Alpha Hades. I watched him scoff loudly and raise a brow at me. His piercing gray eyes stared coldly into my soul. I gulped a lump down my throat and hastily averted my gaze elsewhere. Whenever I was around Alpha Had

Mia's POV I lay on the cold tiled floor, my eyes settled on the rooftop as tears rolled down my cheeks. My entire body trembled as the memory of Justin's death continually replayed in my head. I broke down into tears for the umpteenth time as the reality of life slowly hit me.Not only had I lost my husband, I had also lost my pack members all in one day. Everything still felt like a dream, a nightmare that I desperately wanted to wake up from. Suddenly, the front door flew open wide, revealing the bright rays of sun. After Alpha Hades, that monster killed my husband. He instructed his lieutenant to take me to the Moon Tribe pack house. I was thrown into a small cell for the entire night.I curled myself into a ball as I slowly raised my head up to gaze at the person by the door. It was a lady, elegantly dressed in a sunflower dress. Her blue eyes lit up, and her lips were curled into a small smile. Something about her made me feel warm, as if I had seen her somewhere before. She s
Mia's POVMy eyes twinkled in fear as I stood in front of the burning fire. The shouts of fear and screams of pain engulfed me, causing my entire body to shiver in anxiety. I clenched my fist tight and watched my whole world burn to ashes right in front of me.My reaction was nothing compared to that of Justin. My husband fell to his knees with tears rolling down his cheeks. Justin had spent so much time, effort, energy and money on building the Silver pack, now it was about to vanish from existence, right in front of our eyes."H-ow..." I stuttered, blinking twice in disbelief. Justin and I had only left the Silver pack house for a few hours because we had an urgent meeting to attend with a neighboring pack. How was it that, in the span of just a few hours, our pack house had burnt into ashes?I placed my hands on my chest to calm myself down. I needed to be strong for Justin. I turned to gaze at my husband, but to my uttermost surprise, he was no longer where he was. I watched Justi
