Mia's POV"

"How am I able to do that? "I am a healer just like you. "How come you can not just chase the demons away as well?" I asked Tamara, my brows furrowed in confusion at her. Tamara sighed tiredly, and I was beginning to regret interrupting her sleep. She was a very busy person during the day. She had to attend meetings with other pack healers. She was also an advisor to the Moon Tribe pack members. Tamara was like a mother figure to everyone. Warm and kindhearted. One could have almost mistaken her for the Luna of the pack.

Tamara poured herself a glass of water. I watched her gulp the liquid down her throat before joining me on the floor. Not even Hades can explain why you are the only one who can chase the surrounding demons. "It just happened all of a sudden on the first day he met you at the silver pack. "No offense, but that is the only reason why he is keeping you around, because you help him feel peace," Tamara said. Her last statement reminded me of Hades' harsh words from earlier. I was only a mere maid chasing the demons around him away.

I sighed in frustration, all of this meant that I was stuck with Hades fit for what looked like eternity. Just the thought of that made me shudder.

"Although, I think I might have a theory," Tamara said, her words jolted me out of my thoughts and back to reality. I gazed at her with an anxious look, my eyes were wide open, and I gestured to her to go ahead and tell me her theory behind this crazy truth.

"The truth is..." Tamara started. She cleared her throat and flashed me a mischievous smile which made me brace myself for whatever stuff she was about to spill. "Actually, this might not sound pleasing to your ears, but I think you and Hades might share a mate bond." She blurted out.

I choked out a hysteric laughter and shook my head in disagreement. Never! I could never share a mate bond with a monster like that. My mate bond would forever be tied to Justin, my first and only love.

Tamara looked like she was about to push further, but the door to her room flew open wide, and I immediately recognized the muscular figure to be Jones, standing by the door with a confused look on his face. "There she is." He muttered, eyeing me with irritation.

"Alpha Hades requests your presence, Luna Mia," Jones said. I ran a hand through my hair in frustration and muttered a cuss under my breath. I was sick of always having to obey Hades' ruthless requests, even at my own inconvenience. You should go. "We can talk more tomorrow." Tamara nudged my shoulder and flashed me a reassuring smile. I nodded my head at her and slowly excused myself out of her room. I heard her and Jones bicker over something, but that was none of my concern. I stepped back into the room. I felt Hades' hands pull me to himself. We both laid on the bed and, once again, I was performing my duty by chasing the demons away.

The next morning, I was woken up by gunshot noises. At first, I thought it was a dream because, ever since I stepped foot in the Moon Tribe pack house, I have never actually had a good night's rest for once. My nights were always interrupted by scary nightmares of my late husband, Justin.

The gunshot noises grew louder. I snapped my eyes open and, to my uttermost surprise, Hades was no longer in bed. I jerked off the bed, my heart began to race extremely fast and the memory of that day replayed in my head. That day, I lost Justin and my entire pack members. Today felt like that day.

I had a feeling that something worse was going to happen. I rushed towards the front door and hastily locked it for safety. I sat on the bare floor and placed my hands over my ears to block the noise of gunshots. My heart raced extremely fast, and I broke down into tears while fervently praying to the moon goddess that nothing bad had happened to me. To my uttermost surprise, I found myself praying for Hades too and the other members of the Moon Tribe pack.

Eventually, the gunshots stopped. I slowly tiptoed out of the room, my eyes widened in shock at the sight in front of me. Several bodies lying carelessly on the floor, covered in blood.

Tears pricked from the corner of my eyes as I watched everyone struggle to get back on their feet. Suddenly, my eyes settled on a familiar figure. It was Tamara lying carelessly on the floor, covered in her own pool of blood as well. I rushed towards her with tears in my eyes.

"What happened?" I cried out.

"Gun...fight." Tamara managed to choke out. She seemed to be in severe pain as she clutched her stomach tight.

But werewolves are supposed to be able to heal from mere gunshots. "Why are the others still brutally injured?" I asked in fear.

Wolfbanes, the bullets were laced with wolfbanes. A deep and hoarse yet familiar voice startles me behind. I turned around to gaze at Hades, his hands were clutched to his bleeding arm.

How come the Moon Tribe pack got infiltrated? The security here has always been known to be very tight.

What could I do? Tamara was the only professional healer of the pack, and she was severely injured. I was the only amateur healer left.

My heart began to race extremely fast. I felt something engulf me. I suddenly felt this adrenaline within me. My mind kept telling me to slowly place my hands on Hades' arm. I did exactly as my instinct instructed me to.

Hades watched me in shock as I slowly placed my hand on his arm. I shut my eyes for a brief moment, blocking away all the noise. My mother was a healer and right before she passed away, she taught me concentration. Tamara taught me a few things too.

To my uttermost surprise, I felt a soft touch on my cheeks. I snapped my eyes open, and I saw Hades cup my cheeks close. He had a small smile on his face.

For the first time since I got to the Moon Tribe pack, I smiled.

Not only had I harnessed my healing powers, I had also successfully made Hades smile at me.

Maybe we did share a mate bond, maybe yes or maybe not.

  • Hostage Bride, The Alpha's Treasure   Chapter four- Identity Crises

Mia's POV I furrowed my brows in shock and staggered a few steps backward. What was Alpha Hades talking about when he made mention of the demons? What demons was he referring to? Was there something about Alpha Hades that I was yet to know about?I mean, I had always wondered the reason why Alpha Hades had me kidnapped and not killed, like how he had wiped out the rest of my pack members, my husband included. I could not exactly question his reasons for keeping me alive, rather I acted grateful while I dealt with the guilt of my dead husband.I sighed heavily and hastily wiped the drops of tears from my eyes. "What do you mean by I am a mere maid to chase demons?" I asked in a shaky tone. I also did my best to manage my tone so that it would not come off as offensive to Alpha Hades. I watched him scoff loudly and raise a brow at me. His piercing gray eyes stared coldly into my soul. I gulped a lump down my throat and hastily averted my gaze elsewhere. Whenever I was around Alpha Had

I was forced to attend meetings, forced to contribute to affairs, forced to act like someone with so much authority, when I knew that deep down inside of me, I was nothing more than a mere prisoner. Whenever I tried to run away, to plead with Alpha Hades, he would threaten me with the life of my father and my younger sister. Those were the only two people that I held dearly. Justin was gone, and they were the only ones I had left. Although my father and I were never on good terms, I still cared for him. He always saw me as a pushover, a failure just because I was unable to harness my wolf side. My father was the one who sold me to Justin as a wife. I was forced into a marriage with Justin. At first, Justin and I had a bitter marriage, but we eventually fell in love with each other. Thinking about him made my heart shatter into pieces, it made me feel extremely guilty. Somehow, I was marri

Mia's POV I lay on the cold tiled floor, my eyes settled on the rooftop as tears rolled down my cheeks. My entire body trembled as the memory of Justin's death continually replayed in my head. I broke down into tears for the umpteenth time as the reality of life slowly hit me.Not only had I lost my husband, I had also lost my pack members all in one day. Everything still felt like a dream, a nightmare that I desperately wanted to wake up from. Suddenly, the front door flew open wide, revealing the bright rays of sun. After Alpha Hades, that monster killed my husband. He instructed his lieutenant to take me to the Moon Tribe pack house. I was thrown into a small cell for the entire night.I curled myself into a ball as I slowly raised my head up to gaze at the person by the door. It was a lady, elegantly dressed in a sunflower dress. Her blue eyes lit up, and her lips were curled into a small smile. Something about her made me feel warm, as if I had seen her somewhere before. She s

Mia's POVMy eyes twinkled in fear as I stood in front of the burning fire. The shouts of fear and screams of pain engulfed me, causing my entire body to shiver in anxiety. I clenched my fist tight and watched my whole world burn to ashes right in front of me.My reaction was nothing compared to that of Justin. My husband fell to his knees with tears rolling down his cheeks. Justin had spent so much time, effort, energy and money on building the Silver pack, now it was about to vanish from existence, right in front of our eyes."H-ow..." I stuttered, blinking twice in disbelief. Justin and I had only left the Silver pack house for a few hours because we had an urgent meeting to attend with a neighboring pack. How was it that, in the span of just a few hours, our pack house had burnt into ashes?I placed my hands on my chest to calm myself down. I needed to be strong for Justin. I turned to gaze at my husband, but to my uttermost surprise, he was no longer where he was. I watched Justi
