- Chapter nine - CONTROVERSY

Patrick’s POV

I am here in Sage’s condo unit. I am sitting on the chair while he is on the sofa. 

At this moment, he is not wearing a mask, his real name is Sage Taylor, and right now, he is solving a white jigsaw puzzle on the small table. He is wearing eyeglasses. 

“What is your plan, Sage?” I asked him, “Why did you tell Phoenix your real name? You also confronted him in the flesh,” I added.

“Just wait, Patrick,” he said to me while solving the white jigsaw puzzle, “Until I unmask the murderer’s identity by doing what needed to be done,” he added. Sage fixed the way he wears his eyeglasses after he successfully solved the puzzle. He entered the kitchen. 

He is smart! I hope I can also quickly solve a white jigsaw puzzle!

I will trust any plan that Sage is thinking to solve Nate’s case.

Phoenix’s POV

I left the elevator after arriving on the floor where his condo unit is there. I walked towards it.

I was about to knock on its door, but I stopped when I heard two people moaning in it, so I opened it; I’m lucky because it’s not locked.

I saw Athena and Juaqin having sex on the sofa. It’s so disgusting! How could they have cheated on my brother?!

I closed my hands because I felt that the blood in my body was starting to go to my brain, and a minute later, when Athena looked at me, she quickly stood up, then she used a blanket to cover her nakedness.

“Phoenix!” Juaqin said to me. I can see right now that he is afraid of me. 

When I walked away from his condo unit, he took a towel from the table and used it to cover his nakedness. I will leave because I may kill them if not due to the cheating they did to Nate. 

A minute later, Juaqin followed me, “Phoenix wait,” he said to me.

I became angrier at him when he touched me. I looked at him and pushed him that made him step backward, “You are disgusting!” I said irritably to him. 

Meanwhile, Athena also followed, and she tried to deescalate the conflict between Juaqin and me, “Stop it, please!” She begged me. 

“When did you two starts cheating on my brother?!” I angrily said, but they did not answer me. They did not talk, “Speak! Answer my question!” I screamed to them. I don’t want anyone hurting my family!

“They were already separated before she became my girlfriend—” Juaqin did not manage to continue to talk when I spoke. 

“So, you eat what my brother’s eaten already? You don’t respect him, he died just a few days ago!” I angrily said to him, and I left. 

I think I am going to vomit after seeing cheaters having sex with each other. My brother should not have courted that woman, tsk!

Athena’s POV

I am here in the condo unit of Juaqin; I am sitting on the sofa while he is taking a bath in the bathroom. A blanket is still covering my nakedness. 

A few minutes later, I remembered what happened during prom night.

         

Flashback

I am outside of the classroom, alone; It’s already midnight, and a few minutes later, Juaqin arrived, and he hugged me at my back. He also put his chin on my shoulder, “Babe,” he said to me, “I want a cuddle,” he requested. 

I took a deep breath and spoke, “Babe, not now,” I said to him, “Nate is here, he may see us,” I added. 

“Are you ashamed of me?” Juaqin asked me, “Maybe, you love being with him than me,” he added, so I looked at him and touched him on his left cheek.

“That’s impossible, I don’t love him,” I said to him, and I kissed him on his lips to express my love and affection to him, “I am just doing it to take revenge,” I added that made him smile, so he also kissed me. 

“I know that.” He said to me, “I love you,” he added. 

“I love you—” I did not manage to continue talking when Nate spoke, the man that I am making miserable. 

“What is the meaning of this?!” He angrily said that made us look at him, and we stayed away from each other.

I closed my hand and spoke, “Nate, let me explain—” I did not manage to continue speaking when he talked. 

“I don’t need your explanation; I already saw how you two cheated on me!” he angrily said to me, “You are cheating on me, Athena!” He said to me, so Juaqin took a deep breath and spoke.

“You deserve it,” Juaqin seriously said that made Nate walk towards him, and he punched him on his left cheek. Due to what happened, he fell to the ground and hit his head on the wall. 

“Don’t you dare say that; you have no idea what I am feeling right now!” he angrily said to him, “Don’t mess with me Juaqin!” He warned while pointing at him. 

Juaqin sarcastically laughed, and he stood up. I feel that he doesn’t mind what happened to him after he was punched by Nate, “Why? Do you know what I felt after my sister committed suicide?!” He asked Nate angrily, “She killed herself because you cheated on her!” he angrily said, and he hit his body against him and left. I followed him, so only Nate was left outside of the classroom. 

End of flashback

My tears started to fall upon remembering what happened during prom night.
