Ruby sat inside her dimly lit workshop staring at a long black box. In her left hand, she held a spherical glass bottle with a red liquid glowing inside. Her tired golden orbs traveled to the red substance in her hand. She wanted to smash the bottle to the ground, set it ablaze, and spat at it but what help can that do in her current situation.
The potion in her hand is an Anti-Love potion, she created as a reserve just in case she needed it. Truth be told, she didn't know how to make such a potion even though she was the one who promised to make one for Leanna so she had to start a tedious research from scratch. She worked day and night to create the perfect spell to manifest the potion that she needed. She encountered many failures every day but she never gave up nor stopped because her freedom and her future depends on that potion.
Aleister would bang at her
Ruby couldn't sleep that night. She always twisted and turned in her bed while the guilt in her chest weight down her heart. She betrayed Geneva, Aleister is mad at her, and she made Manticat cry. Her poor baby must be really missing her if he cried to Aleister. She sighed and sat up from her bed.She went to the bookshelf and pulled a brightly crimson book, making the shelf flip and reveal a minibar. She grabbed a bottle of vodka and drowned herself in liquor. Tears started falling from her golden eyes. Why did it have to be this way? Betraying someone you love feels so terribly bad even though it bears good results for you. Even though Geneva is a bit arrogant at times and narcissistic Ruby had learned to love her greatly. She's the only person who visited her not to buy potions or hexes or use her for her own gain but purely for company and friendship.
"If you can't sleep then have enough courtesy to let other people do so." Aleister said with monotonous annoyance looking down at her from the doorway. He had a disinterested look on his features as he gazed down at her pitiable state."I'm sorry..." was all Ruby could reply but it seems to be directed to someone else other than him."You are such a troublesome woman." Aleister sighed before walking towards her and grabbing a bottle of Bourbon and pouring himself a cup."What are you doing? I thought you're mad at me." she whispered, wiping away her tears."The Aleister that's mad at you is your lover. I'm here as your friend, no strings attached. And friends drink with their sad friends to make them feel better and listen to them cry and watch them get all snotty. It's
The golden rays of sunlight passed through the window rousing the sleeping beauty that is the Butterfly Witch. Ruby slowly sat up from her bed feeling completely exhausted while her head pounded as if someone was hitting her skull with a hammer. She feels extremely nauseous and lethargic. Nature's cruel way of making her regret her decision to stay up late and drink with a sarcastic demon.Speaking of which, how did she even get to her bed? Last night she was crying with Aleister who drank boredly beside her and he said poetic things that are extremely Machiavellian, not really agreeable based on her own moral code and yet his words sounded oddly comforting and delightful.Ruby slumped her back on the headboard of her bed and sighed. Last night was really. . . something else. There are portions where her memory is blurred or completely blank, mostly about embar
"Good morning, moonlight! Had enough rest? You slept through breakfast so I made you brunch. Are you still exhausted after last night? I hope I didn't work you out too much. Hehehe, I might have gotten carried away this time." he greeted setting down a nice wooden tray on her lap filled with mouth-watering dishes."Thank you..." was her only reply to the demon. Aleister looked really cute and husband-like in his chosen attire. The demon wore casual denim pants and a black shirt while a pink apron covered his front. Even though his outfit is simple he is extremely charismatic due to his well-built body and broad shoulders making the witch want to be encased in his embrace. Ruby blushed a shade of pink before turning away to throw away the thought.Manticat flew
Ruby had not left the forest once and she didn't entertain any customers that wished to purchase anything. Several days passed until an undesired visitor came knocking on her door."Ruby..." Geneva cried after seeing her face like she was some Saint who she can beg for mercy."He left me... He left me..." Geneva came to her crying and haggard. Her clothes are in tatters and her feet have been soiled by the dirt and grime of her path to the witch's house. She had walked from the village and lost her shoes along her way to the cottage.Ruby thought that Geneva had come to scream at her and beat her up for betraying her, completely taking her off guard when the auburn-haired engulfed her in a very tight hug as if her life depended on it. The witch was confused and was unable to comprehend what to do and how to reply so she merely wrapped her arms around the mage and whispered words of comfort to her ears telling her that everything will be alright, although even
Geneva woke up into a beautiful morning. The gentle sunlight flittered through the window while the birds sang sweets songs of harmony. She rolled to her side to greet her silver-haired friend and tease her about the previous night only to find her spot empty. She must be up and going already. Geneva didn't linger long in the bed to start her morning so she fixed the bed and freshened herself up in Ruby's bathroom which is surprisingly large and grand, filled with extremely expensive beauty products much more costly than the ones that she uses. She helped herself with Ruby's stuff knowing that the silver-haired wouldn't mind. She soon descended from the second floor to get her breakfast or prepare one in case Ruby hasn't yet. To her surprise, the witch is also nowhere to be found downstairs though she had already prepared breakfast, which Geneva was very thankful for. She took two slices of toasts and sandwiched the bacon with them before taking a large bite. She poured
After three days of flying Aleister finally arrived in the Lytebright Capital. Ruby had given him a map of the land and the blueprints of the castle which is very impressive of his little witch. She had also packed non-perishable sets of food rations and given him a handsome amount of gold to spend for his travel. He arrived in the capital at a daytime so he had to wait until the sun sets for him to be able to make a move and sneak inside the palace. In the meantime he watched the rotations of the guards and studied the blueprints of the palace, memorizing and marking all the entrances and exits he could use for his break-in and escape.Once twilight broke in, the demon was already inside the palace infiltrating its halls. He went up and down the tedious stairs, crawled left and right through vexing hallways which all looked the same, and hid every time he heard footsteps like a mouse which is very degrading for a person like him but his
Ruby woke up with a heavy heart. Tears instantly fell from the corners of her eyes when she saw the peaceful sleeping face of Geneva who cuddled close to her. She whispered thousands of apologies to the sleeping maiden as she caressed her hair. Ruby soon decided to leave the bed and freshen up. After grooming herself she immediately went downstairs to prepare breakfast and maybe even collect a few berries from the forest.Ruby decided to make a few waffles, toasts, bacon, and eggs while humming a soft tune from a song she heard before from a cartoon. She stirred the waffle mix and poured the substance into the waffle maker, swaying a little as she does so."Bacon pancakes making bacon pancakes. Bacon pancakes that's what I'm gonna make. Take some bacon and you put it in a pancake. Bacoooon pancakes." she sang."Meoooow meow meow."(Translation: Mom you're making waffles not pancakes) Manticat argued. Ruby giggled at her familiar's antics."I
