Chapter 101

|| CLARA'S POV ||

The walls of my childhood home were colder than I had remembered. Or maybe it was me. My heels clicked against the very polished floor as I stomped down the hallway, wiping tears away with the back of my hand, trying to quiet my breathing. But my chest felt like it was being torn open.

I arrived at my mother's door and didn't even trouble myself to knock.

She gazed up from the vanity mirror, surprise flickering across her pale gray eyes before hardening into something irritation. Her pale fingers froze, suspended halfway through adjusting an earring. "Clara?"

As soon as her voice filled the air, my self-control crumbled.

I lost it in front of her, words tumbling from my lips barely. "He… He wants me to give up the title of Alpha. To her. Like that. Like nothing. Like it didn't matter."

Her mouth opened, a flicker of doubt crossing her expression before she sighed and left her earring on the counter.

I glared at her, expecting shock, anger… something. Som

    Chapter 103|| ALEXIS'S POV ||I had to do something before everything got out of control.Alberto's sickness had left a big responsibility on my shoulders —one we were all clinging to, hoping it wouldn't collapse. But it already was. Elinda was quiet, too quiet. Alaric was pacing like a caged beast.My phone buzzed.A message from one of my guards: There's a girl here. She says she needs to see Alberto. She's crying, Sir. She wouldn't give a name. But… she looks familiar.I did not need the name. My stomach sank."Take care of things here," I instructed Alaric hurriedly, not giving him time to ask questions as I stepped out of the hallway and headed to the back of the hospital.The outside air was warm, the scent of rain and crushed flowers heavy. I came around the side of the building and there she was—Clara. Standing by herself beneath the big tree, her face white and tear-stained. She looked nothing like the girl I knew.Now she just looked. broken.Her eyes found me right away, wi

    Chapter 102|| ELINDA'S POV ||Golden twilight filtered through the palace windows, throwing warm light upon the cold wall. But it couldn't reach me,not with the fire of rage burning inside me. I paced in the center of the great hall, with a pounding heart, glaring at Alaric. My future mate."No," I said again, with more force this time. "We have to postpone the mating ritual."Alaric's jaw clenched, his golden eyes widening. "Delay? You've already made them wait, Elinda. The council's waiting. They're expecting a strong Royal bond—and so am I."I marched up and down, attempting to gasp for air between the tension pressed against my ribs. How could I explain this and not sounding obvious with everything?"They'll understand if I say I'm not ready yet," I tried, but my voice faltered. "It's too soon since I have become the queen now.""It's not about being ready." His tone was deep and threatening. "It's about you still caring about him."I remained frozen.There it was—spoken into bei

    Chapter 100|| CLARA'S POV ||3 YEARS AGO….The morning light was colder than ever before.Mikhail was standing by the window, scrolling through his phone with his half-rebellious expression when something was annoying him but not worth an actual reaction. I folded the laundry listlessly, daydreaming until a voice suddenly shook me awake."You received an invitation," he grunted, not even looking in my direction.I froze in action, a towel clutched in my hand. "From who?He finally gazed at me. "Your pack. Your stepfather, technically."The towel fell out of my hands.I hadn't heard from my stepfather since I was married to Mikhail. He hadn't even written a letter, not even sent a message—nothing. And now, three years after disappearing without a word, he was calling me back?"Did he say why?" I asked, already knowing that the answer would not be straightforward." No," replied Mikhail calmly. "Merely informed you're being summoned. There is to be a council session. He informed me tha

    Chapter 99|| ELINDA'S POV ||The sun came up over the palace drapes, casting a warm golden glow on the marble floor. The last two days have been draining—emotionally and physically. My body ached from the search, my heart heavier than it had ever been.Alaric burst into the room suddenly, his face a look of pride, as if he'd just conquered an empire."Elinda," he shouted, his deep voice ringing with enthusiasm. "Did you hear? Everyone in the kingdom is talking about what we did last night. We're hailed as the perfect couple for having saved the young wolves from Liam's trap."I looked up at him, trying to swallow hard as a knot immediately rose in my throat. "Alaric. we didn't rescue them. Alexis did."His smile faltered. "What do you mean?""He found them. He fought the hybrid. He kept me safe while they could get away.I wouldn't be standing here if it wasn't for him."Alaric's jaw muscles bulged. He turned his face from me, moving cautiously toward the fireplace. The quiet was heav

  • Hunted By My Rejected Mate   chapter 98

    Chapter 98|| Elinda's POV ||I didn't move.The earth was chilly on my knees, and the scent of blood lingered in the air—his blood. My mark pulsed against his flesh. Our mark. I did it. I saved him… but ruined everything.I gazed at Alexis, breathing raggedly, heart thudding so hard it silenced the world. His flesh seemed to glow softly where I had bitten through, a shining crescent on his neckline, throbbing with old power. Why couldn't I breathe?Alexis stood before me, chest heaving, shirt torn and bloodied. His eyes glowed with a hundred emotions—shock, confusion, relief… and something terrifyingly tender. His hand reached for me, fingertips trembling like he wasn’t sure if I’d vanish if he touched me.“Elinda…” His voice cracked like it hadn't been used for a long time . “You marked me.”I flinched. “Don’t.”His hand froze midair."I didn't mean—" I gulped, dry mouth. "We can't talk about it. Not ever. Not now.""But—" "No." I stood, fighting to hide the shaky feel of my legs.

    Chapter 97|| ELINDA'S POV ||MOMENTS AGO, My heart thudded so wildly that I feared it would burst right out of my ribcage. The darkness pressed in on me from all directions, only interrupted by one lantern swaying gently back and forth on a rusty hook far overhead.And then—I heard them."Princess!""Elinda, help us!""Please—he's going to kill us!"My breath halted as I spun around towards the sound. The young wolves. They were all there—huddled into a bound iron cage, their little hands and paws grasping the bars, their eyes terrified. Their fur was matted, some of them injured, all of them trembling."I'm here," I breathed, my voice threatening to shatter. "I'm going to get you out. I promise it."But before I could take another step, I heard the noise I feared the most.Liam's familiar,slow steps behind me.I didn't turn."You're right on time," he said to me with a smirk,his voice smooth over shattered glass.I prepared myself to turn to him.He grinned smugly—completely at eas

  • Hunted By My Rejected Mate   chapter 96

    Chapter 96|| Elinda's POV ||I searched until my legs gave out.The ground beneath me had turned to mud, the scent of crushed pine hitting my nostrils.Alaric stirred beside me, his shirt torn and boots dirty, yet his face not once showed a glimmer of defeat. We searched every inch of road, the forests lining the ridge, even questioned traders and lone scouts who might've seen a convoy.Nothing.No scratch on the trees. No struggle signs. It was as though the young wolves had vanished into thin air."They're gone," Alaric snarled, bracing his hand on a tree and breathing heavily.I wouldn't take it. I just kept walking forward, blinded by guilt. I was the one who made the decision to send them to training. I trusted the wrong pack. I led them to their deaths."No," I muttered, glancing around at the empty woods. "They're not. We're just not looking hard enough.""Elinda," he said, reaching for my arm, "we've been looking for hours. This was a trap. Whoever took them knew what they were

    Chapter 95|| ELINDA'S POV ||The sun had barely risen when I stood at the head of the table, my fingers resting on an etched symbol of the Dark Crescent Mauranders. The crest of the pack I now served not only as royalty—but as their new Beta.It still felt surreal. The role of Beta wasn't a role; it was trust, responsibility. One that I couldn't betray.Seated at the table were some of the most significant members of the pack's council—warriors, and former Alphas who had served with our grandfather. They gazed at me, their eyes admiring, others doubting. I did not blame them. I was young, a runaway princess turned reluctant leader. But I was done proving myself. I had made up my mind. And I would follow it through to its end."Let's get started," I said, sitting up straight.Darius, the head of training, cleared his throat. “We’ve received alarming reports from the northern outpost. Our younger wolves—those between sixteen to twenty—aren’t battle-ready. They lack control during trans
