Chapter Twelve

Adalyn

All that's around me is darkness. I tried to open my eyes, but I felt so weak. I needed to get back to Rainn, that was the only thought running through my head. I mustered all the strength I could and finally pushed my eyes open. The room was dark and at first it didn't look like anyone was in here. I tried to adjust myself on the bed, "Rainn?", I called weakly. My throat was scratchy and even whispering hurt. I heard movement from across the room and a figure came running over to me.

"Adalyn, are you truly awake? Rainn's going to be so happy." "Liam, where is Rainn and what happened?" "I think it would be better if you heard it from him but let me get you some water and I will get him." He went into the bathroom and brought me a glass of water which I drank in two gulps.
