Logan’s POV

“What was all the noise about?” Her words are quiet. She blinks a few times and I see how her eyes are shaking. Just a little, but enough for me to notice as she turns her head in my direction.

“Lana, are you okay?” It was a stupid question. It was obvious that she wasn’t.

“I’m fine….” she wobbles slightly. Her hand reaching out to the door frame to steady herself.

“Lana. I know you’re not.”

As the blanket falls from her shoulders, she reveals her blood soaked pyjama shirt. There were slits in the material, just over her stomach. Like claws had raked over her.

Uncle Liam rises from the chair as I demand to know what happened.

“I did it.” She mutters as I run my fingers over the wounds. They were healing, just very slowly.

“Why would you do this to yourself?”

“I thought… I thought you had gone.”

The whites of her eyes were dimming as she struggled to stand upright.

“What do you mean? I’m right here.”

“It hurts.” She mouths as she stumbles forward, crashing into me. Her eyes
