Laya’s POV

Groban lead us back toward the brothers clan boarders, back to the village, and with each passing step I felt myself reluctant to go back there. Right now he wouldn’t look at me, he wouldn’t even speak to me, instead we just kept walking with me following behind him in a state of unwitting silence.  

I guess he felt annoyed that I hadn’t shifted when he had tried so hard to get me to do just that, I had so many questions and they needed answers first before I allowed myself to shift into anything I didn’t truly understand. The entire exhibition seemed pointless as we made our way back without even a deer to show for us being out here in the first place, lifting my hand to touch my neck a spark shot through the place where Groban had marked me and I let out a small gasp.

How did Groban know so much about my kind, and how had he been able to mark me like that. I could feel it now, it was as though I had this insane connection with
